Didn't fit
So I decided to give Fantasie the benefit of the doubt, and try this bra, since it's supposed to be something of a bridge style between Fantasie and Goddess/Elomi.
Oh Fantasie, does it somehow not occur to you that a K cup bra needs underwires that can, I dunno, hold their shape? Like seriously, is this underwire made of plastic??? As much as I complain about limited size ranges, if they're going to make bras in this cup size like this, I'd really rather they just stop at a smaller size.
Seriously, look at the last picture I uploaded. I am pulling really very gently, side-to-side, and the wire completely distorts, not even stretches side to side, twists into like an S-curve or something. It's ridiculous. (For comparison, I did the same thing to Panache Jasmine, same amount of pressure, and the wire stretches width-wise, 1" or less.) These underwires are in no way able to stand up to my boobs.
As you can see from the picture, the fit is ridiculous. I can't even tell if it's just the wires, or the cup is way too small, or what, but it fits like it's maybe 4-5 cups too small. Also the cups fit very east-west, spread out. This bra made my boobs look so awful!
It's too bad, really, because it's a very, very pretty bra. I tried the charcoal color, which is a charcoal base with very light pink embroidered tiny flowers and vines. (Embroidery is on the cups/center gore only.) There's a really pretty little detailing along the top edge of the cups. There's also a decorative bit on the front half of the straps. Now, it's pretty, but rather stupid, because it means the straps can't adjust shorter without shoving the adjuster-piece over this detailing. (I haven't tried, since I am returning the bra, but I assume this can at least be done, with some effort.) The straps aren't even limited-stretch, to make up for being limited-adjust, even the part with detailing is stretchy.
The bra is light and airy, looks-wise, and as far as material. The cups are, I think 2-layer, mesh, with a little stretch to it, quite light. The back band is a slightly different, 1-layer, stretchier mesh (very, very stretchy - I think bigger band sizes or smaller cup sizes may need to size down, as the more of this part there is, the stretchier this band is going to get).
The straps, aside from the problems mentioned above, are fairly nice, good thickness and are pretty comfortable. Actually, the strap placement is excellent, one of the only good things I can say about this bra. The straps are placed more towards the center, and don't dig into my armpits at all. The arm opening seems large enough, the cup doesn't dig in either. Well, actually I think it's too low under the arms, and I seem to spill out a bit above the sides.
The back band digs in weirdly and makes lots of back fat, I think it's just not strong enough and gets bunched up a bit. (The band is the right length, as I can comfortable fit 2 fingers under, with it closed on the second hook. It's weird, when I measure it, it shouldn't fit like this, it should be too small, but it easily hooks, even though the stretched measurement I got is almost 2" smaller than my ribcage measurement. WTF?)
The cups are 3-section seamed, with a small inner lower section, a large outer lower section and a small-ish upper section that goes across the full width of the cup, and has the straps attached to it. The vertical seam between the two lower sections is approximately 7"/18cm. The cups are moderately deep at the bottom of the wires. This is not really a partial band bra, but sort of acts like it, since there's no actual amount of band below the cups, just it slopes down towards the bottom of the cups at the attachment.
I hope someone who wears a smaller size will try this bra, I'd be really interested to see how it will work for smaller breasts than mine! Especially since it is so pretty, but so, so fail-y on me!This bra is not owned any more
