Didn't fit
OMG, major major poking in the sternum. It's got nothing to do with the height of the gore - it seems to be the angle of the wires, somehow. The wires even seem a bit tight on the sides under my arms (though they stop short of poking there). This is a problem that other members of Bratabase have mentioned, though none of the 3 or 4 blog reviews on this bra have mentioned it.
I tried Venusian Glow's method of fixing poking underwires (http://www.venusianglow.com/2012/08/fixing-underwires-that-hurt-sternum-by.html), and it has worked, kind of - though the wires under my arms then went from 'some pressure' to 'borderline painful'.
Cups do have very little volume in the bottom, which gave my breasts a bit of a lift, though hardly 'Marie Antoinette' cleavage - probably because I don't have much to begin with. Also slight gaping in the top of the cups, even on the larger breast.
I like the colour (cherry blush), the lace detailing and the lowercut balconette/halfcup style (i.e, unlike many Panache and Cleo bras that have wrinkling along the lace-fabric seam).
Perhaps this Curvy Kates just do not work for us less busty ladies? Another Bratabase member, Avi_, mentioned here: http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dhppt/ that a lot of women in sizes 28D/28DD/28E have problems with this bra, and in her review of this bra in a 28D, she also mentions poking in the sternum and under her arms. Jillie, on the other hand, said in her review of this bra that she'd gone DOWN a cup size (28E to 28DD), and all the gaping and poking problems went away!
I decided to return this bra for a number of reasons, not least of which was the POKING!, but also the fact that the rest of the bra was just ... meh. I mean, nice colour and lace detailing, but no cleavage, lace might show through my shirts and tops, poking!, very slight gaping in the top of the cups - all these little niggles, taken on their own, would be manageable, but all together added up to a bra I felt wasn't worth keeping.
[Ordered a cup size down (28DD) - no poking in sternum though wires do still dig somewhat on the sides, better cleavage, no gaping in the cups. Am returning this, though - I cannot justify keeping this on the basis of "I like how it looks", when I don't like how it feels. Granted, it is very likely that the fit will improve (get more comfortable) after a few wears, but lace shows slightly under clothing and I just think I'll be better off getting bras for everyday wear..]This bra is not owned any more
