Didn't fit
I bought this bra as a little birthday present for myself and with the knowledge that it is not meant for daily wear. It was available for a low price and it is fairly cute, so I thought I'd give it a go. It has a lot of overall construction/engineering issues, runs small in the cups, and runs huge in the band, but it is good enough for what it was intended for and that is fine by me.
The 2wenty8 Bette has a cute, vintage-inspired appearance and has a unique cup construction which seems to be made to enhance cleavage. There is a sort of "sling" sewn onto the side of the bra, but it is not sewn onto and combined with the rest of the cup, which results in it becoming scrunched toward my armpits. The cleavage I get out of this bra is okay, but nowhere near Freya Deco level "Wow!" cleavage. The tissue on the upper half of my breasts is rather shallow, however, so that might be why.
I was surprised at how soft the lacy material of the cups was. The cups don't make my boobs and nipples itch like crazy, which has happened with a lot of other bras. Upon examining the seams, I did see some imperfect stitching and flyaway threads.
The cups seem to run rather small and they are not as sturdy compared to the Panache and Freya bras I have tried. I love how low-cut this bra is and I wish that such a low-cut shape were easier to find for my breast size and shape. Having a fairly shallow, self supporting breast shape, I think I could get away with such a bra. The cup construction does not "hold" my breasts and somehow seems to enhance boob jigglinness. Even in ill-fitting 32Cs I never had a problem with my boobs jiggling, so when I wore the Bette, it was quite shocking. I swear my boobs jiggle less when I go braless compared to when I wear this thing. The band runs very large and feels more like a loose 30 or 32 than a 28, so there's not much support going on with my 24/26 ribcage. After I swoop and scoop, I get moderate to severe quadboob at the top of the cup, while the top of the center gore gets pushed away from my body.
The cups themselves don't seem to look very smooth under fitted clothes and I wouldn't recommend wearing this bra for more than sitting around doing homework or maybe some light grocery shopping as long as you either wear looser tops or wear a jacket or cardigan and can put up with any jiggling. Not much more than that.
The straps seem quite wide-set and they verge on sitting in my armpits, which is probably the most uncomfortable aspect of this bra for me. Even though the cups aren't itchy, the straps are.
I appreciate that the company that made this bra put in their time and effort into making more sexy and fun bras in my size range. I hope that they have learned more about bra construction along the way and that they continue to improve their bra construction while keeping them cute. I am glad that even though this bra does not fit me that I at least got to try it out.
