The CH Onyks is a multi-way black bra in my beloved CH cut. Mine is matte black, but it seems to have been made in a satiny fabric at times. The Onyks comes with three sets of straps and I've included pictures of all said straps. It is not actually a strapless bra, but I have been able to wear it as such as long as the clothing I'm wearing it under is tight enough to help hold the cups edges against my body.

The straps on the Onyks are very wideset. They dig into my armpits and drive me nuts. The straps are the reason why I do not wear this as a day to day bra. It's in my drawer for its use as a halter and as a pseudo strapless and that is the only time I wear it.
The comfort straps are stretchy in the back and nicely padded in the front. I do like the comfort straps, but the loops for hooking them are too far into my armpits.
The regular straps are very stretchy, and not very long. I'm able to use them as a crossback, but they have to be adjusted almost the whole length. I'm relatively high set, so if you're not, it's possible they will not be long enough for you to do that same.
The halter strap is a good length for me and is pretty comfortable on my neck and traps. I'm prone to tension headaches and sensitive to pressure on those areas, but this strap doesn't bother me at all. I'm aware of it, but it seems to distribute pressure and weight evenly and I find my purse more bothersome than this halter.

The band is nice. It's snug and comfortable, but stretches out fairly quickly. I start out on the loosest hook then end up moving in one or two sets at some point during the day. After it goes unworn, the process starts over again. As long as it continues to snap back after wear I won't worry about it.

The cups give a great projected and rounded shape like other CHs. They're also more closed off and the ribbon edging can and will cut into FoT tissue. Most of my other CHs are 65E, but I would not want an E in the Onyks.

Overall I'm pleased with it. It certainly has its place in my bradrobe. If it weren't for the horrible armpit eating strap attachments I would wear it more frequently, but they can't all be perfect.

  • if you decide to sell it, i want to buy it. :) btw, i dont see the pictures of the straps.

  • I think you have to click on the review title to see all of the pictures. I have 13 photos uploaded. The pics of the straps are not just the straps, but the straps in their respective configurations on the bra while worn.

  • newhere try this link http://www.bratabase.com/bra/di2h7/pictures/ it should take you right to the photos if you still can't see them.

  • i saw it. thanks. :)

  • Okay, good. :)

  • hey hey. i'd like to ask why you wouldn't want a 65E in this. also, would it be better to get a 60 band since it stretches easily? i measure 27-29 in under bust.

  • newhere The Onyks runs small. I'm between an E and an F anyway, but most of the CH/CHPs are open on top and I can get away with the smaller size. Onyks has that ribbon binding on the cup edge making it more closed off.
I have a 26" BTT and 28" snug, I'm usually good in Ewa's 65 because they are typically quite tight. The Onyks isn't and I would prefer it in a 60 band.

  • so probably get the Onyks in 60F? oh wait. but 60 bands in Ewa are made to order? Like extra charge right?

  • Yep, 40 PLN more.
You're better off finding one second hand or getting the 65 band and taking it in yourself.
If you need to, you may not. Ewa's bands can be unpredictable and the one you receive may be sewn with different elastic changing the amount of stretch it has.

  • did you really get free pads when you bought this?

  • 1

    Yes.
All of Ewa's pocketed bras should come with a set of pads.
