I wouldn't normally post a bra adventure, but I would have loved some information before bra shopping in Japan, and it was definitely an adventure!
So this is my second Japanese bra and it is from a shop called Aimerfeel. I have never found a bra with narrow enough wires and straps for me before. This comes very close to being perfect! The wires are very narrow, and the straps are as close set as I've found, although they are still too wide on me and dug in a bit at first but have softened after washing. Because of this, this bra doesn't gape on me nearly as much as the Ewa Michalak bras I usually wear. This bra also gives me really great cleavage, which I haven't been able to get from a bra since I grew out of Victoria's secret https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
There is a lot of option in Japanese bras in my size (H65 = 30G) which surprised me, I spent about 4 hours trying on bras at the seven bra shops I found within the station complex in Sapporo! Some of the bras I tried were even too narrow! Most Japanese bras I find quite ugly, with large applique flowers, ribbons and ruching (but my Japanese friends think Western bras are ugly, so hey). They also have a very pointy shape, which is improved if you add pads to them (which I guess is how they are designed to be worn, most bras have cookie pockets), but they are still pointy. There were a couple bras that fit me but had such a strange pointy shape that I didn't buy them (although they were comfy!). This bra is pointy, which isn't ideal, but it's not as pointy as most others I tried and it's so comfy I don't care.
This bra doesn't provide a huge amount of support, but does provide enough, and it feels soo comfortable. It doesn't feel like my boobs are being pushed to the sides like in my other bras, instead it feels like they are held in front where they should be, which is nice! The quality of the bra is not great, the lace on the edges is already starting to fray a bit, but I have washed it in the machine in a laundry bag and our machine here doesn't have a delicate cycle so I think it's holding up pretty well considering - I've also probably worn and washed it every second day. Also, it was very cheap, costing 3,400 yen with panties included, so I'd say the quality is about as good as I would expect for the price. This bra also has fairly thick padding and pockets to add cookies (which is perfect for me as I have one boob a whole size bigger than the other!)
All in all, my Japanese bra shopping trip was a success! I've since ordered more of the same bra online as I like it so much, plus some others to try which weren't successful that I will be reviewing and posting on the listings page in the next few days.
