Didn't fit
Oh, what a disappointment. The Chloe is a sister cut to the Freya Starlet Vertical Seam Bra (1061) , but it has deeper cups and doesn't fit my shallow breasts very well. It seems to expect more upper projection than I have. It's quite open on top and the top edge of the cup lies flat against me. Right below that, though, is sad empty cup.
The sides of the cup are very shallow, and actually leave a bit of an odd dent in my breasts that clearly delineates where the tension in the cup ends from being held up by the straps. I wonder if this isn't due to poor scaling or just the pitfalls of an unlined bra on shallow breasts. It does seem to have a lot of projection near the gore, so I would say that this bra aims to have breasts pushed front and center like other Fauve half cups. Unfortunately, it seems better suited to tall, even breasts that are narrow and projected.
The band runs big, which is not unexpected, but the cups seem to run big too. The wires are narrow, like the other Fauve bras I have. Unlike those, the wires on the Chloe are hard, and thus are truly actually narrow rather than functionally wide. Unlike the Starlet in its sister size, the wires were not uncomfortable. In fact, even with my close set breasts that mean all gores sit a little on breast tissue, the gore was quite comfortable.
The fabric on the bra is quite nice. The band and straps are quite soft. The cups are made of a non-stretchy mesh overlaid with embroidery. It's much more pleasant than the fabric used in the Starlet. I wasn't sure if my Chloe was electric blue or peacock blue, as it was listed merely as "blue," but the model number on the tag ends with "ele" so I assumed that it was the electric blue. Certainly it's the deepest electric blue I've seen. It's a beautiful shade of blue, so I was glad it wasn't more like the Starlet electric blue, which is much, much brighter.
I've bent the wires out some so that the cup width is around 4.75 inches. It improved the fit minimally, but also made quite clear that this is ultimately a case of shape mismatch.Electric blue colorway
