This bra didn't fit when it arrived -- the cups gaped at the top and sides. I was wearing 28DD lace plunge bras.
Then epic water retention happened and I was wearing 28E/F (Freya/Cleo) for a week.
TODAY it fits quite well. The cups lie flat at the top, the stretch lace is comfortably snug, and the sides gently cup the outer curve of my breasts instead of gaping.
The takeaway: if you have breasts that change cup size throughout the month, it can be a good idea to keep track of what bras fit as your breasts wax and wane through your cycle.
