When I was about 119 pounds, this was PERFECT. Now at 126-128 lbs, its too small, but I'm working on getting back to under 120. This review will be for when it fit for about 6 months of being between 116 and 118 pounds.
-------------------------
I am absolutely DEVASTATED that Impimi closed their business!!!
I have a somewhat strange breast root shape... kind of Nike "swoosh" shape. And somehow, Impimi's underwires fit my shape perfectly! The depth of the cup fit my immediate projected shape as well. As will any unlined bra, I had to add cookies just to push my apexes up higher, because mine are naturally quite low and downward pointing. (Without cookies, the apex of unlined bras are empty and wrinkly despite the rest of the bra fitting.) I'm full on top, and if I had a bra that fit my shape exactly, it would be very upside down 7 shaped, and I'd rather look more balanced and even more "perky" for shirts to fit well and look flattering to my figure.
The cup top edge just barely slightly cuts into my FOT shape, but not enough to cause the cup edge to slide down and top half of the cup to wrinkle. There's a little bit of fabric bulk where the lower and upper parts of the cup meet, so not recommended for thin shirts, but otherwise the cup looks smooth when filled with my breast. Straps aren't too wide, so no problem there.
The bra is beige. Boring, right? WRONG!! The lace on this bra is gorgeous! So shiny, so floral; so pretty! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> There are little silver circles in the edging of the lace, and a complimentary sparkly dangly decal with a bow at the center. A bow on each strap, and the strap fabric has a picot edge. You can really see the thought to details to make this a "nude" bra for pale skin, and yet they still wanted it to be not boring. Speaking of the color, it's slightly warmer and darker than my skin, but almost a perfect match!
Other random note: the price was unbeatable. During their sale, I got two bras plus shipping for only $40.85!!
So, now the bad.... I don't exactly remember why I sized up in band; maybe suggestions I read...? Well anyway, this was a bad idea. The whole band is made of a stretchy fabric, not really a power mesh. The cradle is lined with what I assume is supposed to be a tricot, but it doesn't prevent the stretch that much. The elastics are VERY elastic, so overall, the band feels super stretchy. With any tension on the straps at all, the wings have a curvy wavy shape in the back, even with the band on the tightest hook. This causes the elastics to cut in, while the wings stretch, so it creates back bulges rather than creates a smooth back. So beautiful appearance in the front of the bra, but the band fabrics are lacking in support and smoothness.
Also in regards to the band, despite the underwires fitting perfectly, they are HARD. They must be punched steel rather than the nice rounded, coated wires. Even though the band is too stretchy, the underwires DIG in at the gore, the sides... like, all over, even under my breast, which is rare for me to get discomfort there unless I slouch all day, forcing the underwires to dig into my ribs. I've tried bending the wires, but considering it digs all around, it hasn't helped much. So sadly, uncomfortable at the end of the day. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Overall, this was an awesome unlined bra. I really wish that Impimi would have been successful, because I would have bought more in the next band size down and in more colors if they had made any. Maybe even could have purchased the white and dyed it. I'll have to make some patterns from the cups and hopefully find some more comfortable underwires in the same shape.
