This Raspberry Caitlyn was purchased in the summer of 2014. Until I discovered Bratabase and Bravissimo, I had come to the conclusion that the Caitlyn was the only bra I could comfortably wear. The Caitlyn's would not last long for me as they would stretch out and become unwearable after a year of use. They were certainly a significant upgrade on the Elila 1305s I wore for the previous 5-10 years but both are now a distant memory.
The wires on this Raspberry Caitlyn are almost 2 inches longer than any of my wellfitting Alana's and combined with the extra 2-4 inches of band length, the wires end way too far back. I thought about returning the Raspberry bra but convinced myself not to, thinking I will just grow into it. I also found this bra to give me the most east/west look I have ever had. As I look back over time, I realize how misguided I was thinking this was my size.
This Raspberry Caitlyn is the only bra I have ever seen/owned with a label that included size 95P.
Winter 2020-2021
A fellow bratabaser started up an Elomi based Chat adventure and it made me wonder how the Caitlyn's I still have fit. It had been over 4 years since I last wore either of my 2 remaining Caitlyn's but I still remember how it looked and felt. At least, I thought I did. I was quite horrified by what I saw in the mirror. For starters, the apex seemed to be beyond my arms! Ok, maybe they were where my arms are but still, this was beyond an east-west look.
The wings/band looked hideous to me. I think this was a result of my being so accustomed to the bands on all of my Bravissimo bras. The word that comes to mind is matronly but that doesn't quite the look to me.
The worst thing I saw in the mirror though was how high up the cups pointed. I do not recall having this look when the Caitlyn was in regular use. This wasn't just a slight bit of upward pointing. I'm pretty sure that if I went out in public with this bra on, people would look at me strangely and wonder what is wrong with me and my bra.
I could not take this bra off fast enough and will never wear this bra again.
