Didn't fit

My breasts are pendulous, projected, and super squishy, so I'd been looking for a good underwire sports bra recently (PS - my quest ended with the Wacoal Underwire Sports bra!). This Anita Active Sports bra with Underwire had many glowing reviews so I thought I'd take it for a spin. I can see the appeal, but it isn't for me. For starters, this bra looks uber-breathable. Half of the band is a perforated mesh which is probably dreamy 20 minutes into a workout. On the breast-side, the cups are lined with a super soft microfiber-like material that is very soft to the touch. I can't help but wonder how well that breathes. Anita put stretchy, half-adjustable straps on this model with a widening of the fixed strap segment where your shoulders are expected to be. The wires are a little narrower than some sports bras, which may mean it's more comfortable on narrow-rooted persons. My single biggest complaint about this bra is there is little accommodation for upper pole tissue. I am still sorting out whether I have tall roots, but if you look at the photos it's abundantly clear I am massively quadding in this bra. I found the constriction of the upper pole of the breast so painful I didn't feel it worth trying another size. The gore in this encapsulation model didn't have any hope of tacking. The smallness of the cups crushed my tissue and causes the wires to place pressure on it. I expect this wouldn't have been so dramatic in bras a couple of sizes up, but being unconfident about the height of the cups, it wasn't worth the attempt. Also, the price point of this bra is quite high considering it's utilitarian and frill-free design. I'm glad this works so well for some of you, but it was a giant miss for me and will be returned.
