So... I suppose I shouldn't judge a bra on its first try-on because, surprisingly, Jasmine has grown on me!
Right out of the package, I was disenchanted with the rough, nearly-scratchy material that constructs the cups. It felt cheap & thin which, for the retail price, was disappointing. Trying it on for the first time, I immediately noticed that the gore dug in REALLY hard. The wires in general are incredibly stiff, & I dreaded the idea of readjusting the underwires so that it didn't jab into my ribs & sternum all day long. I seriously considered returning Jasmine to Amazon, but alas, out of laziness I threw it in the back of my dresser & promptly forgot about it for a couple months.
While reorganizing my bras I rediscovered it & figured I would give it another shot because, why not? And I was pleasantly surprised! I found that the gore honestly wasn't painful after a couple minutes wear & the underwires didn't dig into my ribs throughout the day. I also decided that I really like the stretch lace in top of the cups! My breasts tend to grow & shrink along with my hormonal cycle, so having a bra that can comfortably accommodate my size during ANY day of the month is a huge plus. The stretch lace also accomodates for my assemty very well! There is a tiny bit of puckering along the seam where the cup meets the lace, but it's hardly noticeable.
At first I wasn't crazy about the profile Jasmine gives me, & to be honest, the extremely projected & almost pointy look I get still isn't my favorite. However, under heavier shirts, the uplifted look is kinda nice. The straps adjust long enough for my torso & the bottom & center projection is decent. The wires are adequately narrow (as far as UK bras go, anyways).
Ultimately, it isn't my favorite bra, but it definitely isn't bad! And although I am still unimpressed with the fabric, the houndstooth pattern is absolutely adorable! Admittedly, it's what drew me to Jasmine in the first place & it doesn't disappoint! It's nice to have a bit of a break from the frilly, flowery bras that overwhelm the market.Houndstooth colorway
