Used to fit

My shape: semi-conical, firm, splayed, narrow width, tall shallow roots, size and shape asymmetry on right side.

I haven’t bought from Comexim in about a year, because I was so disappointed in how my 60O Curacao turned out. Hot Chocolate is a standard plunge instead of an extra deep plunge like Curacao. I think they did a better job on this one, but it really showcases how inconsistent the brand is. I had asked for the straps to be moved in 2cm, the cup height to be lowered 1cm, and to add cotton cookie pockets. It does have the cookie pockets, and I think they did lower the cup height, as it 8” high. I cannot tell if the straps have been moved in, as I still have to angle them inwards. The stretched band measures 28.25”, which is surprising given how many folks have said they are making the bands longer. I really appreciate this.

I asked them to lower the cup height because my shallow, conical breasts do not fill out any cup top. In the photos, because of the wide straps, it still looks like the cups are too big. This is not the case. The cups are 12” deep, and I feel a bit compressed on my larger side. Depending on how I move my arms, the top of the cup will cut into me slightly. I have two cookies in on my smaller side to help with the top gaping. Lowering the cup height might have been a bit of a mistake, as bending over to pick things up leads me dangerously close to popping out of the cup top.

It’s often said around here that Comexim doesn’t know how to make small band, large cup bras. This bra fits better on me than the extra deep plunge cut, and the 3HC in the same size. I have to wonder if it has something to do with the height of the gore wires. They put too much fabric on the outside of the cup near the straps, and not enough in the middle to contain the breasts. It’s not the worst fit I’ve ever had from them, so I do think I will experiment again with another standard plunge.

This bra is not owned any more

It looks amazing on you! And I agree, I think the gores need to be higher and the fabric near the straps lower to help contain our larger breasts and not distort the wires as well since they are more flexing. If I order a padded from them again, that is what I'll try. I experienced that flop out in Beatrice, so it is entirely possible and not fun!!

Gah, it's not only beautiful but also looks freaking gorgeous on you! That colour is so good, almost brown, but orange.

I love it! Despite the minor issues, I think that it’s great! Agreed on the assessment. I really want to try a Comexim plunge. I have a second hand 60HH Victoria 3HC which is both a tiny bit tight in the band and in the cup (the eyelash lace hides it visually, but it is visible quad in a snug shirt). I *really* want to try a Hot Chocolate. That and a Honey Cookie 3HC. I’m just after bra sweets? Brings a new meaning to “sweet tits”! Ha ha! But I’m so afraid of ordering, especially after I think that I pissed off the customer service at Breakout Bras because I was smarter than them with Comexim sizing. Whoops. But I want the sale price for Honey Cookie and the 15% discount for the first order and an option to return. Sooo...

Calluna, they have Honey Cookie also available as a plunge too. I really like that one too. They said they will make any bra as any style, so you can get the Hot Chocolate as a 3HC if you feel that the half cups work better for you.

Oooh, that's gorgeous! I can't wait for my Hot Chocolate to arrive!

  • 2

This looks amazing on you! I just love the colour

I think that I like Honey Cookie better as 3HC (at least the new ones with the scalloped lace), and I considered asking about the Hot Chocolate as a 3HC too, but I want to see how an original unaltered plunge fits first. I’m hoping to try one when I have some money again.

  • Sovavosi Is the base color black or brown? I was thinking how much I loved the look of Irish Coffee, and that if you took the base color of Hot Chocolate with the Honey Cookie lace over it, it would be like Irish Coffee.....That I would love to get, even with Comexim padded bras not really working for me!

  • 1

Dark brown. That's funny, I was just looking at an old photo of Irish Coffee. They are very similar!

  • 3

I almost got an Irish Coffee earlier this year, but it was altered and was afraid of it being too small. It definitely would be now, if not then. Comexim has really got some amazingly beautiful bras.

It was one of my favorite Comexim bras. I loved the two tone browns, & was sad when it was discontinued, & I couldn't get it in a larger size. Know that I know the base of this one is brown, I think I'll ask about getting Honey Cookie with this base. :-D (Maybe I'll try it in a padded 3HC or 2HC, or just with a raised gore... ?) Darn temptations again!

Calluna Comexim gives a great shape under a shirt. BMs are ok, but I really love the rounded shape of Comexim.

  • 1

Sovavosi I’m really itching to get more Comexim to try.

  • Do you order the same size in the plunge and 3HC, or do you size down in the plunge? Or because it is altered you keep the same size?

  • 1

Calluna I think it depends on the person, but would imagine it to more like Ewa PL vs CHP? So most (or at least some :-D) size down in the CHP due to the more open top, while sizing up in the PL. From what I've read, the 2HC & 3HC fit differently from each other, and the Plunge different from those. I believe the Half cups are more shallow on bottom with Comexim, but this can vary greatly by size, so looking within the ones entered here on BtB within your range would be ideal to know those aspects.

  • 1

Calluna I got the same size because my breasts are short. Most people size up in the 3HC, I believe due to the cups being shorter. I have never tried the 2HC so not sure how that one compares to the others.

  • 2

Interesting...... My theories are shot on this one I guess! I would still suggest checking the fit in the target range for other members first though since scaling isn't always equal. Would you agree Sovavosi?

  • 2

I should add that the size up on half cup advice came from Reddit, Breakout Bras, and I think Aisha. The 60N half cups and plunges I measured all had the same depth, so I really do believe they tell people to size up because the cups on the half cups will be too short. It’s also impossible to tell from the photos if the cups are open or closed. I know that Belen is very open and small in the cup 🙃

  • 2

Yes, understood. Comexim stock photos are horrible in my opinion. Give me some model variety and more angles please! I wish they would take some lead from Ewa in that department for sure.
Side note: I miss Aisha and Zathiya.... :-(

Seriously in their photos all bras look extremely shallow

  • brasaremean From my experience, the padded 3HC are more shallow than the plunges. I had one unpadded 3HC and that one was pretty projected, but I'm not sure if that was a fluke or because it was made for Zathiya and she specified it should be that way. From the reviews I've read, the unpadded styles from Comexim are the most shallow.

  • 1

Their unpadded plunges are less projected than their padded from my experience so I agree with that one Sovavosi.

  • See, Breakout Bras said to order a size smaller in the plunge from the 3HC. And a blog where the author is similar size and shape to me said that the plunge didn’t have as much immediate depth as the 3HC. There is a lovely 65HH plunge in the listings that I am not sure will fit...I’m worried that it’s too deep/big. So I’m really unsure.

  • 1

Calluna I’d love to know the root height and fullness of the folks who say to do that. That advice seems too specific to certain shapes, and you’d just have to experiment to be sure. Maybe Jaimie at Bra Obsessed might have some in your size in stock?

  • 1

    Hahaha Sovavosi! So wonderfully written.

@Calluna Breakout Bras isn't the best for understanding the differences throughout the sizes, as you already know. Their generalized "go up two cup sizes from your UK size" is such a misconception, as the difference in a 30D vs a 40P would be drastically different, and the same rules would not apply. So take their advice with a grain of salt and do your normal wonderful research to get a better idea.

The 65HH listed, does the owner have other bras that fit at the time to compare to your size? If not, maybe you could ask them about the fit vs other styles or brands?

  • 1

My experience is the same Sovavosi, on 90Ms.

  • 2

Thanks. I will give Jamie a message, but I know that she is busy right now and I’m going to have to save up some money again. I think BoB suggested the size smaller in the plunge due to the higher cups. But obviously shape characteristics are important to the fit, as well as how it is sized and scaled.

I can certainly message the seller and ask her questions about it and the fit. Probably a good idea.

Calluna If it's the one I think it is (added to BtB in 2015), I would also suggest asking for updated measurements as well. It may be in a "well loved" state at that age, and not ideal for trying the style for the first time. Plus, at the asking price, you could actually get a new one from Comexim direct for the same amount, so unless the included matching panties are an appealing addition, that one may not be your best option. (Again, assuming it's the one I seen listed.)

Maybe an open adventure post asking for experience with the two styles in a given range may answer your questions/concerns more completely? That's always worked well in the past, especially since not all members add every bra to the database (*sigh* in sadness), so there may be more out there than is shown, including the possibility of others with some to share in your range even. :-) It's just a thought though!

  • 2

Yes, I was actually thinking along the lines of actually being able to try one new for not much more, and you’re probably looking at the one I am. A fit adventure is probably not a bad idea, actually.

So gorgeous!! Thanks for your photos!!
