Hasn't set fit

Over the summer, I was looking for some bralettes for lounging in and for a little while when I got some chest/sternum pain when wearing my bras. Heat swelling? Costocondritis? Who knows. Anyway, I tried this bralette in 2 sizes...the 32F/G that I will be reviewing, and the 32D/E (one size smaller). It was among the first bralettes I had tried in the cup size scheme, as the aerie bralettes had been fails.

At the time, the 32F/G felt fine but it also felt a little bit big in the cups and band. The cups were generous and stretchy. So I tried it in the smaller cup range and it was a bit better fit, though still a bit loose in the band. At the time, there was no 30 band sizes offered, however, it is now offered in 30D/E.

I went to the store a few weeks ago when my mom and aunt were in town... I went to the store looking at sports bras while they were on a several hour long tour as part of the package they had. I forgot to ask about the bralette then, because I was curious about the fit now with the new growth I’ve had since last fall. So when I went in today to try an extender with the Jade plunge and ask about alterations to the Fit Fully Yours bra I recently acquired, I remembered to ask about this one.

To be honest, I think that I kinda pissed off the fitter because at a point in my visit her attitude was very “whatever” to me. Was she upset that I was already bra aware and knowledgeable and she did not have to teach me? I don’t know, but her attitude definitely shifted by the time I tried this and she kinda hung the bralette on the hook hard like leaving a room and closing the door a bit more forcefully. She was resentful that I was asking about bralettes because she didn’t like them and didn’t think that they should sell them and they offer no support, etc. And she also argued that the bralette I was trying on today was new and I couldn’t possibly have tried it on over the summer. I assure you that when I tried it on over the summer, this is the only bralette listed on the website and how I learned that it wasn’t offered in a 30 band at the time. It’s also the only one that is dual cup sized and I recall quite clearly the structure from when I tried it. I’ve since cleared the pics off my phone or I was looking in the wrong area for the pics I had of this bralette in both sizes.

Anyway, ranting over...

The fit of the 32F/G is better than it was over the summer and I don’t think that it would fit in the size down. I suspect that it might have been a newer production that is not so generous now, but also my size change. Funnily enough, while the band felt looser, it felt tighter than the 32s from the summer. So again, maybe new batches are better sized? New black dye? You can see how much I can pull the band back with it on the loosest hooks, but if I am lounging, a slightly looser band is ok. I looking for some minor support and comfort. I mean I really felt comfortable in this bralette. I do wish that it wasn’t so much coverage though. I think that it’s worth getting while I search for other options to try (like Cleo Lyzzy) but it’s also not my top bra buying priority unless I find a really good deal on it. I think $50 CAD is a little bit too steep still. But I can easily see myself in this with a light robe on over top or with some comfy lounging pants. Like I said, it’s maybe still a bit loose, but I think that it’s mostly that it’s tall and that I start loosing upper fullness well below the top of the cup of this. A size down might compress me too much. But it’s hard to tell without trying it out now in my current size.

This bra is not owned any more

It looks quite comfortable. Was it $50.00 cnd? If so, that's a decent price. Could you wear it out, was it supportive enough? ...Or more of a house bra?

Yes, it’s $50 CAD Wilderness1. It’s pretty comfy. A little more coverage than I am after but it is pretty good. It comes in a range of colours, but the 30 band is limited to D/E as the largest fit and reduced colours. The 32 I tried here was ok. Not super snug but snug enough for a lounging item.

    Thanks MamaPagan. It is.
