Starting Notes
Polish haul bra five of six! To be quick about it, I don't like it. It was so pretty in the photos online, but it's just the wrong shape, cheap materials, and just... UGH. I wanted it to work so badly!! But no way, unless I cut off half the wings, somehow lose more weight (which would be unhealthy for me), and magically changed the shape of my breasts. Lol, it's just not gonna happen! This bra sucks (for me). I'll go into more detail, as this might work for some people, but for me is was just an absolute shape mismatch, and extreme disappointment considering this bra is SO pretty!
Wires
It's not quite as dramatic as the extreme U shaped underwires that it seems like all these bras have had so far, and having one major difference that for ONCE it doesn't have a mile-high gore. While they touch in the middle, because the front end of the underwires don't have as dramatic a drop in them, they still seem a bit far apart. They have a gradual slope in the middle, but come up steeply on the sides. This is basically the opposite shape of my breast roots. As for underwire width, they are wider than the Gaia Adeline.
Cup Shape
Shallow in depth for this size, and very much shaped like < from the side. It doesn't look quite as dramatic when I wear it because the top half of the bra is stretch lace, so my breast managed to stretch and round it out. But off the body, it has virtually no roundness. The cups are also pretty short in height, so my breasts were pushing the center seam down, which isn't very flattering. This would be good for a very conical shaped breast that has short roots, that is also not very projected. As for materials, the bottom half is lightly lined with thin foam, and the upper portion is stretch lace.
Projection
Absolutely no immediate projection because of the overall < cup shape. With it freshly on, and me shoving it up as high as I can make it, I have more than a finger width of space between the bottom of my breast and the bottom of the cup. I'd also say it doesn't have a lot of center projection. It just seems very shallow in comparison to the other bras I've tried so far, and it does measure the smallest across the apex. I could have guessed how this would fit, by how it fit the model in the product photo, but product photos can sometimes be misleading with them purposefully putting a too-small bra on to hype up the "oomph" factor, so I blindly hoped that it would be more projected than it appeared. I guess I need to not be seduced by just pretty fabrics in the future!
Band
Giant. And it's just one thin piece of stretch lace!! WHERE IS MY POWERMESH?!?! Of all the bras I ordered, this one starts out as the longest band when lying flat. For a 30 band, it wouldn't have seemed that bad, except for it can stretch to over 32 inches! (I stopped at 32 for fear of ripping the lace, but it definitely could go further than that.) In the photos, I was wearing it on the tightest hook, yet you can see how far it can stretch from my back. Extremely cheap way to make a bra, which is frustrating and disappointing. Even if I did add a layer of beige powermesh, the cup shape is still wrong, so it would be a waste of materials.
Straps
Longest of all the bras ordered; I don't feel fear for anyone taller than me being able to adjust them long enough. Also very thin and delicate, which is nice. It finally seems like the band elastic is balanced to the rest of the bra and doesn't overpower everything else. (Yay, one positive! *sarcasm*) They are the usual too wide, though sadly. The lace portion is nice, but it's just too little too late for this bra.
Appearance
I do have to admit, the fabrics and design of this bra is just so stunning to me. I love that the straps have a portion of the lace coming in towards the center of the bra. It's probably what attracted me to is in the first place, other than the colorway. I've been wanting a black lace bra for a long time, but I knew I didn't want fully unlined, so to see the lower portion have foam in a beige colorway was exactly what I was looking for. The black lace has a really pretty pattern. And the sparkly charm in the center is just charming! Overall, this is a very pretty bra. Now as for appearance on me, on the other hand, it's not that great unfortunately. It's very wide and shallow and splayed looking, and sits too low so it makes my boobs look lower than they are, and then we have the upside-down 7 shape going on since the cups are too small or short for me and my breasts push the center apex downward. I added a top down view, because it flattens me out more than my natural projection is. It just doesn't look good on. :,(
Comfort
Can't really say much for comfort, as I kept it on only for a few minutes to take photos. I felt unsecured through the loose band, and the wide straps always bother me, so I could tell that if I were to wear it for a day, it would become super annoying having to adjust the band and straps all day long. But this time, the gore didn't hurt, so there's that. Comfort is just neutral I guess.
Summary
This bra has a deceivingly gorgeous appearance. Fabrics are beautiful, but construction is cheap, and fit is poor. I think this is the first and only bra of the six that I ordered that I don't think I can keep, and will probably be listing it as I took too long writing this review to return it. (Plus return shipping would probably cost what the bra did, bleh.) If you are wide and shallow, have short roots, don't need a lot of immediate projection, and fit closer to a 32C (or don't mind stretchy straps or can alter them), then this bra will work for you! At least from this bra adventure, we have all learned and added to the database. For bra science!
