It's a wirefree tankini. So basically like a wirefree bra, but you can go swimming in it.
This garment offers no support to my breasts. They are not compressed (I expected this to be a compression sports bra type). They are not encapsulated either. They're just hanging in there, squished together, like in one of my old wirefree nursing bras. The shoulder straps carry a lot of the weight, and because they go across my back, the weight is mainly on my lower neck area and I'm getting a serious headache now. When I move, my boobs move. If you want your swim gear to cover your boobs, and look androgynous (but not make your boobs disappear), do get this tankini. That is, if you don't mind looking droopy outside the water. (Because, you know, while you're in, the water will carry your boobs. They might try to escape trough the neckline though.) Unless of course your hips are a lot bigger than your waist.
If you want your swim gear to keep your boobs from going all over the place when you actually exercise in water and/or on the beach - buy something else.
