Didn't fit
The Pearl is almost good on me. SO close in some ways, and yet so far. First things first: It's a beautifully made bra, with soft satin and embroidery and pretty little details everywhere. Fauve calls this "padded," but to me it feels more like a heavy lining — and I like that kind of design a lot.
The band is just a touch too tight, but it feels pretty firm and the base of the cups fit nicely. The wires hit just at the front of my underarm which means that I've finally found a bra where the wires don't sit on breast tissue. I can fill the bottom out nicely, and the gore is just a tiny bit too wide and high for my closely-set boobs. I'd live with it easily if the cup tops and straps weren't a disaster. The bra wants fullness up top, and I'm not nearly full enough. I suspect that the thick lined fabric would make adding a substantial dart difficult, and on top of all that, the straps are too widely set for my shoulders. I suspect I'd be pulling the straps up all day.
So, the Pearl is lovely and might be perfect for someone who's full on top, doesn't want deep cups, and can do wide-set straps. For me, it's the too big / too small problem again and I don't think a sister size will cut it... back it goes.
