Didn't fit
I purchased this bikini top along with the matching side-tie bottoms in the beautiful "India" colourway from ASOS as it was heavily discounted and postage to Australia is free - a rare and wonderful thing.
This top is very poorly engineered and that's a shame because it looks very nice.
As other online reviewers have noted, it can be difficult to tie the band in a way that it is firm enough around the ribcage. My ribcage comfortably measures 72cm and I do not like tight bands. Even though I could manage to tie the top in a way that felt firm enough for my liking, the fit of the top was so distorted that leads me to believe this could only work better for someone with larger under bust measurement.
The cups seem to run a bit large though I can't say that with certainty. They seem to be tall (both under the arm and on the chest) and wide. The wires are long and poke under the arm and the gore is not low enough to be classified as a plunge in my opinion. I am too close-set for the gore height and cup separation. If I were to re-order this top I would take at least one cup size smaller but due to poor construction and shape incompatibility, I won't be doing that.
When I hold the cups up to myself they seem as though they would fit OK except they are too tall for me (I problem I have with almost every bra) and thus provide more coverage than I'd like. The width of the cups is 17.5cm but when I tie up the band appropriately, the cups widen to somewhere in the realm of 23cm and end up sitting towards my back. The wires are flimsy and far too weak to work in a bikini top that ties at the back. The effect of this is that the cups and their contents are flattened and the halterneck ties end up somewhat under my arms which means they cannot give proper support.
I was very disappointed with this top and so it will be returned to ASOS. I'm sure I would have fared better in a cup size smaller but it wouldn't solve the issues of poor construction and therefore would not support me properly or look flattering when worn. I really think this top needs to be redesigned with rigid wires and perhaps a clasp at the back. Pour Moi create other swimwear tops with a very similar design (such as the Cosmopolitan bikini) with a back clasp so why not try it with a model as popular as the Azure?
