The size of this bra is actually 10E which I believe is equivalent to a UK 32E - why bratabase has listed it as 48 is a mystery to me.

This is the relatively new (I think) bargain basement brand carried by BigW in Australia.

These bras are only AU$6.98 and I'd never really looked at them because I assumed they wouldn't go anywhere near my size and just wouldn't work. I ended up picking up this one and the 12E because they were marked down to $2 and I thought it would be a cheap (and quick) way to get some new bra hardware and have a base for some bra making experiments. I think they do actually go closer to my size than what I've bought but these were $2. I was actually surprised that the fit isn't that much worse than many of the bras I've paid considerable amounts of money for.

As for the quality, well, there's no powernet past the side boning in the wings here which makes those thin cotton jersey bands super stretchy. It's likely that after a couple of washes it would stretch to monstrous proportions. They did bother to put boning in the side though, as well as a 3-hook clip.

I'm not a fan of the partial band bras but this one doesn't look as bad as many do on me.

What both of the bras seem to have in common that works for me is they have enough immediate projection at the base, so my boobs aren't fighting for space and pushing the bras down.

I think if you didn't actually require much support these could work well for you without any experimenting (if they hold up to being laundered).
