Didn't fit

My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle.

This review is for the Butterscotch colorway.

I got this bra gently used from a swap listing. The embroidery on the cups has started to fuzz just a little bit from washing, but that is the only sign of wear I can see. The band is also slightly looser than I think it was new, but it still fits without riding up on the loosest set of hooks. It's a nude shade with a yellow tinge that doesn't quite match my skin tone but would certainly pass under a white shirt.

Since getting my 32F - Fauve » Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331) , I have been on the hunt for All The Fauve Half Cups. Because this one is a cup size smaller and the band has less substance for weight and tension distribution, the fit is a little different than I had expected.

For one, I know it's silly because the Bronte fits like no other, but I am disappointed that the gore/bridge on the Maya chafes. It comes up to about the same height, but in the Maya that is sternum-digging and boob-squishing height which leaves red marks and is uncomfortable after about 10 minutes. I have always had this problem with how close my breast tissue gets in the center, though, and have had to admire half-cup styles from afar; the fact that the Bronte didn't bother me was just a fantastic surprise. Since there is about 1cm of space in the underwire channel, I will definitely push the wires out and tack them, which should make a ton of difference.

The cup isn't quite tall enough for me on the sides, either, although the depth and projection are excellent. I wish the wires had a shallower outer curve or were about half an inch wider to get the last bit of my super-wide breast root, but that's probably the difference between the F and FF cup.

Overall, it's a lovely bra, and I hope my alterations will make the chafing a little less prominent.

This bra is not owned any more
