I have wanted to try Lucy for a while now because it looked so cute, plus I always considered myself to be full on bottom. This bra did not fit as fabulously as I had hoped. The gore is MUCH too wide, the wires are too wide, and the cups are too shallow -- all which gave me the dreaded "elf-shoe" shape from the side. I was oozing out of the center and top of the bra, and the wires were stabbing me in the underarm by the end of my first day of wear. Since this bra is one of the benchmarks for FoB shapes, I have finally convinced myself that I am of even fullness, not full on bottom as I had previously thought. I am guessing that my shape has changed a little over the past couple of years due to migration from finally wearing properly fitting bras.

I have read that many people take in the gore on this bra to achieve a better fit when it doesn't quite suit your shape. I grabbed the sewing kit and went to work. After trying the bra again, I was much happier! It still isn't a textbook perfect fit, but it fits good enough now that I don't have any desire to get rid of it. The shape from the side is now more of a naturally rounded shape instead of the elf-shoe I had before the alteration, and the altered narrow gore works much better for my close-set breasts. The alteration also moved the wires away from my underarms so it's no longer uncomfortable. Also, it's the first bra I've ever had that didn't have a band under the wires, and I actually enjoy the comfort of no band there. The bra is very cute and I adore the bright purple, so it will get worn quite a bit during the summer. I love how the straps are moderately thin, so I won't mind too much if they peek out from under a tank top.
