Amore Mio 60R (28LL)
Amore Mio is a dainty lace bralette in black. Only the outer lower area is lined with a thin fabric for support, while the rest of the bralette is just stretch lace. There is no padding what so ever. It is not for the modest who want to hide their nipples as they are very visible in this one.
This is my 3rd attempt at Amore Mio, as I had it prior in a 60P & 60Q (28L). My 60Q still fits on most days, but during hormonal swelling, the cups are too small. Since I love that bralette (it is truly my most comfortable bra) I wanted the option of wearing it on those swell days as well, so I ordered it in the 60R this time.
For modifications, I ordered the straps moved in and the wire channel completely overlapped at the top of the gore to accommodate my narrow frame and close set breasts. I also requested that they use the same wires they used in my 60Q Amore Mio which were perfect. While they did overlap the top of the gore, they did not honor the other requests, in fact the wires were over an inch wider which is beyond disappointing and completely changes the fit of the cups. My only other request was that if the 60R label was not available, that they use the UK 28LL instead as I wanted labels on my bras. They don’t stock the 60Q/R labels and I have received bras with no label in the past which I do not care for.
For the measurements:
All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.
The band measures 21.5” and stretches to a max of 29””. It has 3 hooks and 3 rows of eye loops. To compare, Amore in 60Q which was 20” to max of 26.25” and had 4 rows of eye loops. So one cup up they opted to make the band 2.75” longer……
Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
This measurement is: 12.75”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
This measurement is: 16.75”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
To compare, Amore 60Q was 12.75” to a max of 16.5”so minimal difference in depth. Additional measurements, the wires are 7.125” wide compared to the 6” on Amore 60Q. Seriously, the wires are 1.125” wider.
As for fit,
First I must say again just how much I love my Amore Mio in 60Q. It is the perfect bra. It is so comfortable that I can wear it on long car rides and all day shopping trips without any pains what so ever. The bra was perfect.
This 60R (along with both Sugar Plums in this order) is so disappointing. While I can most likely modify them to work, the wires are ridiculously wide and do throw the fit of the cups & overall support off, making this one nothing like my beloved Amore 60Q. I am so, so disappointed.
My last two Comexim orders were made with care, and Anna had insured the bands were short and the wires were perfectly narrow. This order, complete opposite. Why can’t they just be consistent?!?
While I am done buying bras for quite a while (shifted my priorities) I can honestly say that Comexim will not be a contender when I do buy bras again, as such differences are not acceptable.
