ABOUT THIS BRA
This is an unpadded, seamed, half cup, underwire bra.
This is the “average coverage” Fantasie Fusion (3090), not the “full coverage, side support” model (3091).
Purchasing:
* $40.49 on Amazon with free Prime shipping & returns (not Amazon Wardrobe)
* Available only in white and beige.
Band:
* One layer of a thick, stretch, opaque knit.
* Wing support: seaming.
* Continuous band - wires lower than wings.
* Back close with 3 columns of hooks.
* Hooks are padded.
Straps:
* Elastic has lacy edges to help prevent slider from moving.
* soft (don't stand up on their own)
* full adjust
* leotard back
Cups:
* 3-seam (4-piece) half-cup
* unpadded, flexible underwire
* Top edge is unlined, unbanded stretch lace.
* Lower horizontal panel is constructed of a non-stretch, opaque/sheer striped knit (unlined).
* Rest of cup is the same non-stretch opaque/sheer striped knit fused to a non-stretch (solid) opaque knit lining.
* Outer edge of cup is elastic that continues to top of band.
* Soft cups (no padding or molding).
Fit
About me: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts
* average projection
* average-set (one finger width of space between breasts)
* very wide roots (extend past the mid-axillary line)
* even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full)
* short root height, average vertical placement
* mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away)
* conical shape (but will squish to round)
* full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue
* petite (5'3") so have narrow frame
* front (anterior) rib flares
Band:
* length: stays in place with wear
* wings: too short, boobs escape
Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine. (Not nearly as high as the “full coverage” version.)
Straps:
* Feel wide-set but don’t slip.
* Adjust short enough.
Cups:
* Wires too narrow (but stay firmly on breast).
* Top of cup smooth (due to stretch lace) but wrinkles in the non-stretch, lower horizonal panel (cup expects more upper fullness).
* Bottom of cup: wrinkles or gaps (not enough immediate projection at wire)
* Sturdy wires stay put (aren’t pushed down or out by poor fit).
* Cup apex: fits (not too deep, too shallow, nor off-center)
* Give a wide, oval, slightly projected shape.
* Outer edge of cup encloses Tail of Spence (and it stays there with movement).
Assessment and Plan
* Tried this bra because the 32F Fantasie Fusion Full Coverage was really close to an awesome fit -- just cut uncomfortably into the tail of Spence after a few hours of wear. Was really, really hoping that this similar model would be a winner, because looks lower cut through the armpit.
* No measurements available on Bratabase, so picked the best fitting size of the similar model.
* Like the sophisticated look of the sheer/opaque striped fabric.
* Cups too narrow and too deep. Style too projected. STOP.
