This is my second attempt at this bra. I ordered a 30G in it originally, as I’ve been wearing a mix of 30F and 30FF, and the sizing recommends that you go up a cup than your normal UK size. It was a gamble at the time, given that I was wearing both sizes, so I was aware that I might be getting something too big. And I was right. It was a little bit too big. So after a follow up FaceTime fitting, we opted to exchange the 30G for a 30FF, one cup size down. They’d already reserved the 30FF prior to the FaceTime fitting via email so it would be available to me. So I kept the Polly bikini knickers and sent the 30G back and waited. And waited. Apparently, there was some confusion on Royal Mail’s end and was attempting delivery behind the right place. I got it all sorted out after panicking about it (because I had also included a few small locally made gifts for the owners, Alice and Fleurette).
At long last, they got it, sent me the 30FF, and I got it within a few weeks. I opted for one more follow up FaceTime fitting with Fleurette, because she’s the one who saw me in the 30G, even though I felt like it was a lot better - I wanted her opinion and go ahead before I took the tag off and began to wear it.
So here it is. Again. I have been having a ton of problems with the uploader lately, but I managed to get a set of pictures up, although I do have more. The pictures I have up currently have the straps in the crisscross option in the back, which I think is the best fit for me, though I do have some with the straps normally, and an attempt at a halter style which I saw Confessions of a G Cup do on instagram (spoilers: it kind of works but would be very outfit dependent) although it is not mentioned as a setting on the Attollo site like the front and back crisscrossing. I will try to get those pictures uploaded if I can.
Now, a lot of the bra’s details are covered in my 30G review, and there’s more detailed pictures of the bra itself there than here, but I will do a brief description of this bra as it slightly differs from the 30G.
This bra is considered a longline, and is primarily a lace covered mesh design with a stretchy satin band at the bottom. I have the navy colourway which has a floral print on the satin band. The navy on the satin band does sometimes look like the blue grey in some lighting. The lace is a really nice shade of navy and is soft and delicate. I’ve already accidentally snagged a small section with my ring. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> The matching Polly bikini knickers have a panel of the same stretch satin at the front, and the rest is the same soft lace (navy or light blue - they’re meant to mix and match). It’s not really full coverage at the back in my opinion, but they are comfortable, even though my butt likes to eat them. Brazilian more than bikini, but they have a brazilian which is definitely cheekier than this style. I’ve included pictures of the full set, despite my own insecurities about my tummy. I feel like it’s important to see the set, however, the back of the Polly is sheer lace like the front but with no satin to hide things, so I willingly omitted them.
The cups of the 30FF are a single seam, or 2 part construction. The 30G and up uses a two seam, or 3 part construction. I do wish this size had the 2 seam/3 part cups. The lace at the top of the cups is scalloped which I think is quite delicate and very beautiful. I find that the cups aren’t as wide as the 30G - I pegged them at 5.25” vs 5.5” and I am quite comfortable with that width. I’m ok with up to 5.5” depending upon the construction, but I prefer 5-5.25” wide for comfort, as I’m on the narrow side of average width, and my soft tissue allows for me to wear fairly narrow wires. The wires left marks that followed my roots pretty well.
The band on this model has 3 columns of 5 rows of hooks because it is a longline style. I admit that I still struggle with them. My current process is 1) fold the material back to expose the loops more and 2) hook the bottom, then top, then middle, and the other ones hook pretty easily after that. I’m definitely not very fast at this. If I start my way at the bottom, I have a tendency to unintentionally unhook the bottom as I try to hook the one above it. I have tried to go top to bottom but it’s not really easy for me. Anyway, it’s a pretty comfortable band although sometimes I can comfortably hook it up with the middle hooks. The only problem I have with the band is that I have a bit of a tummy and it starts to poke out right between the v of my ribcage so it’s not a super smooth look for the longline. This is inherently a physiological problem and not one of the manufacturing. It just means that I don’t do longline styles as well as others as a result of my body’s physical characteristics. The band mostly stays down but it has flipped up a few times.
I mentioned it in my original review that the wires are quite long and the gore is quite tall. Somehow, it magically doesn’t matter. It’s still super comfy. The gore is pretty narrow. I did notice a tiny stab of wire marks barely on my boob, but it’s the same way with my Marcie. It’s not really painful - just a visual of tall wires. Despite the shallow cups, I did not find the wire marks to be too low under my imf. It’s maybe a cm? It’s not really that much of a problem. You can see in one of my pictures that the wires are a little bit below my imf. I did not pay attention to the marks from yesterday when I took the pictures, but the time before, they matched my imf despite feeling like they had slipped down some.
The cups are still just a bit on the tall side for my functionally short roots, but as mentioned above, they are already a little bit too shallow for my projected breasts that I don’t think I could pull off a 30F. It’s more noticeable on my small side, and when I’m wearing the straps normally - wearing them crisscrossed at the back pulls the cups into a more closed position so as to minimize gaps. There is a slightly stretchy strip at the top edge of the cups, but it does not dig into my tissue, perhaps because of the cup height.
Speaking of straps, although it might be a slightly odd appearance, the straps are attached to the cups a little further in than a lot of bras and it’s honestly a refreshing feeling - not up in my pits like so many other wise set straps. They are also pretty thin and dainty straps, yet feel stretchy comfortable. I could probably loosen them a little, but tighter aids a better fit, and I still have a two finger tension. Because they are convertible straps and I am fairly petite, I have to adjust them quite a lot in the normal fashion, and the sliders are quite high on my back. It’s one reason I like them crisscrossed (it also helps me get it on and connected easier). I do have one gripe about the straps and that’s the adjustability. While the slider itself is fine, the loop at the bottom with the detachable hooks seems slightly too narrow for the width of the straps and it takes a little bit of finagling to get the straps through it while adjusting - it’s just not a smooth to go through as it is with other bras. I’m not sure if it’s actually the size of the loophole or if it’s the material/gold hooks. It’s not a huge problem, but it’s a little bit difficult to adjust the straps when you have the bra on.
So much for my brief description! All in all, I am quite pleased with this bra. I would love it if it was about a half inch shorter all around and had a bit more immediate projection. And maybe shorter straps. I’m keen to try the other style, the Lily. It’s not a longline, so it should work a bit better for me with the length. It’s allegedly a slightly different fit, fitting a little bit smaller in the cups the way the band pulls, so it is suggested that you wear a size up from the Emelie, which would put me back to a 30G, but I am tempted to try it in the same size my Emelie is because I think I might have enough extra space for it if I loosen the straps up some, and I prefer the wire width of the 30FF. But I want the 3 part cup for immediate depth. And maybe the 30G will be the right size. I don’t know. I don’t have enough money for the Lily set right now anyway, but I will see how things fit by the time I am ready to order.
Anyway, quite pleased with the fit of this one. It’s so so beautiful. I love the set a lot, though so far I have only worn it on the weekends. It feels too fancy to wear a longline under my pharmacy scrubs top. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
