Fits

I purchased Freya Fearne as a lightweight, comfortable fabric option for a summer bra, as most of my other summer bras are mesh or lace. I read reviews saying that this fabric is soft and comfortable, and indeed it doesn't disappoint. It is a rigid poly/elastane blend that is lightweight yet supportive, with no horizontal stretch and minimal vertical stretch. The lace upper cup is a very soft mesh with simple rosettes. Honestly I was surprised to see such soft fabric from a Freya style, as my experience with the brand has been with pretty rough lace fabrications. So, the fabric gets a a big thumbs up.

The straps are detailed with the same printed fabric sewn on most of the strap, which makes adjusting a little difficult. I wish they had just kept the straps solid, as I don't find this detail to be necessary. There are also some small bows sewn on that are barely visible on the black print colorway.

The fit of this bra was, like many other Freya bras, not right for me off the rack. This is a standard 3 piece plunge style cup, similar to Fancies. The cup width measured at 11.5 cm, and I was getting an OK fit, but with some challenges filling out the lace upper cup because the underwire was the wrong shape for me. After some reshaping, the cup opening measures 12 cm, and the shape is much better (I changed it from a swoop shape to more of a traditional curve) Now, the cups are wide enough for me, and the lace upper cup sits much more smoothly against my body, although there are some slight wrinkles on my smaller side, which is common in many of my bras.

I felt comfortable altering the wires on this because I have done so on so many Fancies, and they share the same cup construction. This is a fairly easy style to adjust for cup width. If Fancies works for you, this style should also work.

Band is on the stretchy side. Underwire shape is totally wrong for me, but once adjusted, the fit is quite decent. Reshaped underwire and opened up the cup to 12 cm from 11.5 cm.
