Didn't fit

I've been told that I'm short and shallow 28E. However fitters either bring me the smallest thing they can find with a giant band, that inevitably dangles around my ribs with cups that barely cover the middle half of each breast & wires comically perch at least 2" from the imf, or, they dredge up a dusty ole thing in the smallest band + FF/G/GG in stock which tends to be closer to width and depth needs, but absurdly tall.

Which brings us in a sort of desperation, to this bra. Brazenly advised as being a wonder of even fullness & FOT friendly.

I've tried reasoning with 'Skeletor' (lovingly christened for being the exact same shades of purple & blue as the main villain from He-Man), and ultimately this thing feels like it's only going to work for people who are:
super narrow, somewhat conical, only slightly projected (coming from polish perspective) with most of their projection pretty much on the inner cup to around the nipple, have the smallest shoulders on earth, moderately FOB & definite lack of upper tissue. If this sounds like you- hurry hurry, scoop this beauty up. She doesn't have all day to languish on the rack.

However for myself, it's undergone numerous surgeries to get us through the introductory period, many times I've taken out the sewn basting, reapplied to manage the weird wrinkling, tried to bend the wire, replace the wire, & even added padding to the underwire. This is not a style that affords much immediate depth, but there is probably about a half inch in there then the pattern goes completely flat which spells doom for anyone who needs a lil room.
There's not getting around all the things I need that Hettie can't give. like at least 2" immediate depth on the outside of cup at the wire, that could might be a start. It's not quite a side control style but my trauma from those, reminds me that this has a very similar feel. "Sorry girl you can't tell these street toughened side titty not nothing, they will tear your life up, Hettie. It's not personal, just sneak off before they see ya".

1000% not my jam whereas the odd Della has made up for cleo's many sins & appeased my boob's wrath

I had a bra that fit me like this. I adjusted it by shortening the cup at the wire. There was projection where I needed it and the cup was not so tall and wrinkly all round. I still needed to take the lace for a good fit

Of course, with the short straps you may not be able to do that alteration with this particular bra.

From personal experience, be confident with the smaller band bras and stay away from the 34 inchers! Not worth the grief and time spent with alterations.

  • I agree full about the lowering cup height, just to get the width where it is needed- that has been a godsend. i don't know what Hettie wants from me but it's certainly not my sideboob, she's done done with all that! The cleo mimi review I finally put up, I'd shortened & it's been ok, as well as numerous other styles that were so close! and am sure to freak the world out when I get them loaded as well. The alteration life has had me this last 20 years and I'm only now starting to find 'closer' fits abroad since the 'change of life' is creepin on strong with no signs of sizing down. Most of my trouble comes in the form of needing very wide wires and an extra wide frame in the band along the front, which puts me around 28H territory. Yet my underbust is quite tiny and conical so bands must usually be shaped tapering if they aren't sold that way as well. Sewing patterns were even worse fits, so many duck bills! So many alterations! So much sizing up in dumbfounded shock at yet another skimpy binding cup. Will look into the database rules about uploading homemade projects, there's a lot going on there. If my body were a normal human shape or size I would only ever buy my small bands and live like a queen, but for now have learned the hard way that disaster lies down those streets, and to watch for styles with enough of the proportions in needed places, then whittle things in. The hunt for the perfectly demented 28FF goes on.
