About my shape/fit:
My recommended starting point was 32DD/E or 34D/DD. I teeter on the edge of both band size and cup size, depending on time of the month, brand, etc. I would describe my shape as horizontally center full, slightly wide set, lots of soft tissue from weight loss. I think I’m even fullness but functionally full on bottom. I have immediate projection that I need to accommodate, but overall I seem to be fairly shallow-average in terms of projection.
Currently I’m trying to find more about my root width and height through trial and error. As of now I would say short-average height and average width.
For the most part, 32DD/34D fits me best, but some brands and styles I fit 32E better. So I always try to order both sizes when I can.
Panache Envy:
I purchased the envy in 32DD and 32E. The 32DD was closest to my size, but it seems to be a shape mismatch - too narrow and too projected for my breasts.
- Band is tight, even when upside down and backwards
- used a non-stretch extender to assess fit.
- Gore has pressure on center of sternum.
- Extender relieves pressure.
- Can’t fill the tops of the cup.
- The stretch lace is loose and wrinkled, it’s lumpy under shirts.
- The emptiness is from the horizontal seam through the strap.
- Puckers at nipple and wrinkles on the top lace.
- The side support makes a weird shape.
- The cups are too projected, giving a pointy shape.
- Especially on my smaller side.
- Wires feel narrow, not painful but not comfortable for long periods of time.
- With a non-stretch extender
- When I threw on a non-stretch extender, the bra felt more centered on my chest and less pressure in the center of the gore. Having the extender on helped me fill out the bottom of the cups, but the top of the cups were still loose.
I found the envy to be very uncomfortable! It is tight in the band and the underwires are very firm. I wish that I was able to fill the top but I don’t think this is the bra for me regardless. The 32E was too big in the cups, and I don’t plan to try the 34D.
