Anyone who says "Freya are a quality, affordable brand..." are suspect for a being a shill for a lingerie marketing firm (cause no one would say that). THIS is what you want, lol. Esp. if you have a narrow and projected shape.

But you might want to stay off of reddit, lol, if your looking for bra; I spend the last couple days blocking suspected shill accts on reddit, and I've already blocked thirteen accounts! there are so many! For the most part, they stay on reddit, but one shill goes on reddit, and also does the Instagram. the lingerie marketing shills often refer to her (they only promote three bra brands, and three bra stores, and amazon, but I digress).

The issue I have with her (the IG "bra lady") is that she pretends to be all "bra education" but then shills the same brands that the lingerie marketing firm promotes (Wacoal-Eveden brands, Panache, and Bravissimo) For stores they promote Bravissimo, Brastop, and Bare Necessities, and often amazon as well. (guys there's tons of better stores than that. Also, Belle Lingerie is cheaper and better selection than Brastop, but whatever) It also crushes me that I gave her a very affordable option for 24 - 26 bands (Gaia Samira) and she never mentioned that option in her list of resources. It's like she's selling something.

I love this bra, and I got it for $21!!! Clearance last Dec.

I know the band looks quite tight, but the band is so comfy. I must like my bands like really ridiculously tight. Comexim bands are firm and stretchy. Now I have been around the block with Polish bras, I like Comexim bands.

addendum: if you need more proof, scroll down from this post, "I'm so glad I found this post! I feel the exact same way. I personally have no idea why Freya, Panache and other brands like this are considered the standard, besides the fact that they carry larger sizes." Um, shills. That's why. I can honestly tell you I like all of my bras, and I'm not a small size either. https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/10438eg/add_me_to_the_ranks_of_the_confused_and/

It also bothers me that the I.G. bra lady goes onto reddit and "asks for pictures" for her bra education project - without disclosing that she "works for the man." If I knew my pictures were going to *not just* bra education but also to shill lower quality, made in China items. (like, essentially just to oppress other women) I wouldn't have volunteered., it's wrong not to disclose that she shills for a lingerie marketing firm; it's esp below the belt to ask for "volunteers" when we don't recommend those brands.

  • I noticed today on her IG acct, she said (like 8 hours ago) "I have big new job coming up," or something. Okay, odd. because I called her out *yesterday* for being a shill. so, now she's suddenly going to announce, "oh I have a *new job* working in lingerie marketing*

No, you always did. just did not disclose and beg for pictures. Super creepy!

Hold up, this is the first I'm hearing this and I'm intrigued. I know I've recommended those brands, however in comparison to my $10 Walmart and ill-fitting VS bras, they've always felt amazing. Low standards I guess lol.

I don't think it's as sinister as anyone (or many people) being paid 'shills'--it's just people good-intentionedly repeating the advice they've most frequently heard and/or the brands that work best for them. If US bras are too wide/shallow, it's good to rule out UK bras before ordering from a site where you might have to sacrifice $7-15 for return shipping. And I recommend shopping on Amazon not because I want to support Amazon (on the contrary) but because I know many Americans rely on it, and it's an easy, familiar option--I feel like the online ordering aspect is the most intimidating hurdle for many people trying to find ABTF!

What happened with TheIrishBraLady and images being used in ad campaigns?? I'm not in the loop

You know it’s funny I come across this because I had someone give me advice and even sent me a few links for some recommendations. I definitely felt like it was out of genuine kindness and maybe cause I even sounded desperate for help and no one replied lol. But she’s got zero bras listed as owned and no pictures or anything but I noticed she’s giving advice to people… so that was odd to me. Now my brain gears are spinning.

@Vluna, I'm definitely not saying that everyone who recommends Wacoal-Eveden brands (that includes a whole bunch of lines, Freya, Elomi, Fantasie, Wacoal, B.tempt'd. Goddess https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wacoal) are all shills. Or everyone who recommends the BraLady account are paid to do so either.

But, two weeks after getting r/Polishbras taken down, so I have free time, I began to notice there are definite shills on reddit. Like, I blocked 13 accounts. I don't know how many people that is! but I could only see how many accounts there are. Here is the pattern.
OBSERVATION ONE: They only recommend 3 brands 1) Wacoal-Eveden
    2) Panache
    3) Bravissimo *which is a little tricky because Bravissimo sells both Wacoal-Eveden & Panache, as well as their own line.

OBSERVATION TWO: they only recommend 3 stores. Bravissimo, Bare Necessities, and BraStop.

One shill is like, "BraStop, BraStop, BraStop!" even when it doesn't make sense. It's fine for people in the UK, they have free returns. But for women in the US, there are other stores with easier returns. It's kind of better to use BraStop from the US, only if you know your sizes, in my opinion. and don't plan to return things. Bravissimo is better for people in the UK, too. in my opinion. I know they have their own line, but it's nothing to write home about in the large-cup sizes.

OBSERVATION THREE: they will subtly put down other brands when there is nothing wrong with them. I mean, I've notice this is a sales tactic other stores use. But for some women (in certain sizes/breast shapes) Auden bras from Target are fine. The brands they shill for (Wacoal-Eveden, Panache, Bravissimo) are all made in China as well, so it's not like the shill-promoted brands are more ethically-made, or better quality, or something. They brands they shill for are cheap. (They're not Empreinte, that's all I'm saying).

OBSERVATION Four: they will refer to the "bralady" account, who today - I noticed - was like, "Oh, thank you to my 18K followers." Well, anyone can pay for fake followers, LOL, so I take that with a grain of salt. Her account is highly suspect because she recommends the exact same brands as the shill accounts, and all the shill accts reference the bralady acct on Instagram (not that it isn't informational, it is. But it is HIGHLY UNETHICAL for the bralady acct to go online to reddit, beg for bra photos of women, and then use the pictures as a PLATFORM to shill overprice, low-quality bras to unsuspecting women. Like, it's very oppressive. Buying those low-quality bras is a lose/lose/lose situation. A) The woman has to overpay for it B) It's uncomfortable and it makes a woman feel bad about her body to have to be uncomfortable all day. C) They are low-quality so they are soon going to end up in the landfill, so it's polluting the planet. D) None of those cheap brands that the shills promote are OETEK certified, so the fabrics are most likely laced with chemicals. like endocrine disruptors.

I analyzed my own account on the website. Fake Follower Checker https://www.inbeat.co/fake-follower-checker/ It gave me a score of EXCELLENT. LOL.

Seriously, the shills are some kind of part-time job, they aren't paid by the companies directly, but by a lingerie marketing firm. One the susepcted shills posted her salary as 19K/year, she is also a student, so it is some kind of part-time job. (She deleted her account, but I had previously saved her relevant posts to an internet archive), then in another post she mentioned WFH job.
