No pictures for this one since I forgot to take some before I ripped out the elastic. m(_ _;m) Before that, it was quadding, but I'm 50/50 on whether it's due to the band running slightly small out of the box (29.5in stretched) or an actual shape mismatch. After wearing it with an extender for a couple of hours, it's now 25-26 unstretched and 31 stretched. The quadding on the cups wasn't too severe, so I wonder if this would even be an issue on someone who has shorter roots and/or is more even than I am.
Understance states it's suited for average/wide width but I think it's actually the opposite. Even with the super tight band distorting the cups, it was average at most on me. I would say it's closer to average/narrow. Due to it being padded I get a soft tack, but it doesn't seem to compromise lift and separation so I'm ok with it.
This bra is incredibly pretty and gives a nice, rounded shape. There's light padding that ends halfway into the upper cup panel, it's enough to provide coverage and aid in hiding seams, without adding bulk. Due to the lace being flatlined with a firm powermesh, there's no in-cup quadding. The upper edge of the lace itself mimics ruffles from a distance, and the keyhole opening at the gore is a nice touch. The band is made of two layers of a silky fabric, hemmed with the usual elastic at the bottom. At the top, the lining is folded over and hemmed while the shell has selvage about an inch-deep.
My only critique would be the elastic on the upper cup. Any sort of stitching, even in a zigzag stitch, will compromise the elasticity of the fabric somewhat. Both the powermesh and the lace fair just fine without it, since powermesh doesn't fray as woven fabrics do. I suspect they did this because the mesh used doesn't have much snap back, so they wanted to prevent it from stretching out too much. Though the edge has become slightly loose, the lace still smooths it over.Soft Pink colorway
