I tried this on at American Eagle last week, since the top doesn't come in 32DD I decided to try a 34D using the store locator I found it at a store nearby. It was a good fit, but I decided to buy online instead since Aerie was having a $10 swim sale with this top included (sale ends today 7/6). The top is actually decently projected, yet still gives some cleavage, and it actually has narrow wires too (I didn't actually realize until I measure, they somehow look and feel a bit wider). I do have a longer review on my blog with tons of photos including the dressing room shots.
Best fitting bra I've worn in a long time. The fabric is nice and soft, even the underwires have a nice soft feel, and does not cut into your ribs. I would definitely recommend this bra.
Does this really measure that small? A 34 band should stretch more than 31”.
So I double-checked. Stretched it out and it got to about 33 before the underwire started to stretch out as well.
Ahhh ok. Sounds better. Glad you are happy with the bra. I like the bras they have but none fit me.
Really? I love all their bras so far. Been having some problems finding a bra that fits, cos I've gone up in sizes. Their quality is really nice tho.
I measure 28G UK which is 28I US. I can sister size to 30FF UK (30H US) and depending on the brand and cut, I can size down to 28FF/30F. Polish bras are a beast of their own size and fit. So I can’t fit any matrix store sizes like aerie even though the range is somewhat better than VS.
I want to try some Pour Moi bras, but I'm not sure about the sizing.
You can start out by checking out the listings for pour moi in your index size here (34:4 I believe). Then you can see what is available and match up with the measurements of this bra. You might have to size up or down but but you might want to add more bras to measure for more comparison first as it’s not an exact science. Try all the bras...for bra science.
Because this is meant to be a strapless/multi-way bra, it has a very firm band compared to other Aerie bras in this size. It definitely fits more like a 32DD than a 34D, which is good for me. This is the only bra I own that curves in significantly at the top of the cup, and it's because that curve just so happens to match my shape. I'm not sure if other ladies with shallow and/or full-on-top breasts would be as lucky. It gives a more pointy look than many molded cups, but not quite in a bullet bra way. Despite the snakeskin lace, it doesn't show through ...anything, making it my current go-to bra for thin/light shirts. I'm not sure how long it will hold up, though, as I'm starting to see some fraying of the underwire channels after only a few wears.
Edit: I bumped quality and comfort down to 'poor' because not long after I initially wrote this review, one of the loops that holds the straps broke (and I don't put much tension on the straps). The gel that gives the band extra grip started leaving welts on my skin and the band stretched significantly. It's a shame, because this bra worked well for me fit-wise. Also, I have not found other Aerie bras to be this poorly made and none of my other bras (regardless of brand) are showing much wear at all. Read more 129 more words
I love love love the cup fitment, color, and design! But whenever I find a strapless with good cup fitment, the band always feels like it's cracking my ribs https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I added my measurements -- despite the relatively stretchy measurement I got for stretched band, I've never worn this bra more than about 20 minutes since I purchased it. But the cup fitment is so good I'm torn on getting rid of it.
Like all Aerie bras, it's shallow and not for even slightly projected shapes. The cups buckle near the wire a bit, but I'm still wearing it till I find something better; at least it's comfortable!
Bought when I was thinner/also guessing my size. The band is much too stretchy and thin, the straps are too thin and weak to support breasts. Cup too low/shallow. Not as good quality as fuller cup brands. The material has also changed to a thinner/cheaper material in the past few years, as noted when I tried a Brooke (32DDD) model in-store last year. The material/fit/construction of Aerie bras just doesn't seem to suite fuller cups.
This bra is a bit too shallow for my projected breast shape, which pushes the wire down, leaving the bottom of the cups empty. I've got a bit of quadding as well.
Random observations: Way too large a band and too small a cup. Not enough immediate projection for me. Strap gap, but more towards the top 1/8th of the actual cup. I'm new to this and am still figuring out my type, but I think I have tall roots with low volume on top.
energy/honesty (nude/slightly darker, more yellow nude) colorway
Some background context: New to finding bras that actually fit because store conventions had me thinking that my boobs were defective. Using bratabase's calculator, I measure closer to a 30e/f, and and am currently looking for my first proper-fitting bra. I think I'm narrow/short rooted, FOB, pendulous and somewhat wide-set.
Even though I know it's not a perfect fit, it's the most comfortable, least-bad-fitting bra that I have right now. The band is too big (just ditched the +4), and the cups give me quad-boob after scoop&swoop. The cups are too wide for me. This model is made of very soft, comfortable material.
I have this same model in a darker shade of tan, and it gives a more pronounced quad-boob.
Some background context: I resumed wearing regular bras five months ago after years in bralettes. Using bratabase's calculator, I measure closer to a 30e/f, and and am currently looking for my first proper-fitting bra. I think that I'm FOB, projected, narrow & short-rooted, wide-spaced with soft tissue.
Band's far too big, throws off the whole fit. I'm not particularly keen on moulded bras--they just feel weird to me. After scoop and swoop I get overspill, but my breasts settle pretty quickly and I end up with a gap. I think that this model is too shallow in the base of the cup, and that the cups are too tall for me. Before I gave up on bras, I'd gotten it into my head that full-coverage was the best way to go to prevent quad-boobing, but now I know that I just had the wrong size entirely.
Some background context: This was one of five full-on underwire bras bought between a period of strictly bralette-wearing years, and the discovery of abrathatfits/r, bratabase, and the Quest for the Grail. The bralettes-only decision came after years of expensive, poorly-fitting, and somewhat demoralizing bra failures. Using bratabase's calculator, I measure closer to a 30e/f, and and am currently looking for my first proper-fitting bra.
Notes on fit: this is a larger cup size that I'd been previously wearing (34C), and I was thrilled at first with what I thought was a great fit, but now know has all the hallmarks of a bad fit. ...The band is definitely too big, being bought before learning about the folly of the +4 band sizing convention. It rides up in the back, offers very little lift, and I do definitely over-tighten the straps to compensate. The cup size is also too small, despite being maxed out in the maker's offerings. This particular color cuts into my breast tissue worse the beige/nude colorway model that I have in the same exact size. I like to think that this model would work well if offered in a band/cup combination more appropriate for me, it's really so far off as to be impossible to tell. I really love how soft and comfortable this material is, but think it's perhaps far too stretchy to ever work for my rather soft breast tissue. Read more 137 more words
This bra really pushes you boobs together since the underwire doesnt scoop in the middle, but rather meets in a vertical line. Sometimes the skin under my boobs will fold together, which seems extreme. Also, the racerback makes my boobs look fantastic, but my shoulders can't deal with that stress, as the support comes totally from the straps, and not the band at all. The band also is tighter on top and bottom, so there are some bulges on the side if wearing tight clothes.
This bra made my poor boobs look saggy. It didn't provide any support at all. Straps are curling even though the bra has only been washed in the hand-wash cycle in a lingerie bag once and hang-dried.
Pretty, just not the right size. The materials are very soft. The straps are only partially adjustable and you don't have the option to force them over the detailing on the front. Very bright magenta color.
This bra is extremely soft and has a very pretty, bright color. Before being properly measured, this was one of my favorite styles, as it is soft and the band is quite low and thick.
Pros: *soft *good color *pretty design *comfortable for non-vigorous activity
Cons: *lace does not stay attached firmly to top of cups *two hook closure instead of sturdier three hook closure *lace designs pokes through thin or tight shirts *underwires become pokey and irritating after long wear
Super cute!!! Looks fantastic on you!!
