I got the Phoenix from AP's summer sale, and was very excited to try it because it's a 3 part cup instead of that dumb half-seam that AP apparently likes to do. It's also very cute, a pastel tie-dye sort of thing that kind of reminds me of plastic Easter eggs. Unfortunately this was not a good fit. It's definitely meant for FOB shapes; I got that upside-down 7/elf shoe profile going on, and the top section of lace cuts in, causing a quad on both sides. In any case, since I'm sort of an even/FOT-tendencies shape, this doesn't work. I get no lift and it doesn't center the girls at all. This will be returned! :'(
It sucks that it didn't work out, it's such a pretty bra & it goes nicely with your skin

Yeah I check out AP stuff at Nordstrom's once in a while and it always looks like cheap materials and iffy construction, aka guaranteed schlumpy shape for most wearers.
AP varies all over the place in materials, construction, and sizing. Super frustrating. I need to review my AP Casie. It's similar to this. I took the band in & bent the wires narrower & it's pretty comfy for hot weather & flowy shirt usage, but I am even-FOB too. It's Minimizing & yeah, these bras aren't designed for power lifting lol. Mostly boob decoration. I have this bra coming from the same order & expect it to "fit" like my Casie. Workable, with alterations.
Thanks Prettyncharmeuse ! It's a shame. It's cute but not a good fit. wendybien from what I've read, it's a hit or a miss with them. The ones I got in the mail today were awesome, but then I've read reviews where something wouldn't even survive a gentle hand washing. So it's sort of a gamble :/ lcl0706 definitely not for power lifting LOL. I'll add the stats for the 32E for you <3
omg it's gonna be soooo wide lol. I know it'll take work but damn it's so pretty, I'm not above a little bra surgery!
I love their designs, but I tried one and knew immediately to never do it again. Very sad and slumpy, and it was a 3 part too like yours was.
I must be an odd ball. I like the very subtle shaping & minimized profile of my Casie. Here it is under my shirt today. https://imgur.com/a/3iQSy. I swear I'll get the full review up soon. Hopefully this evening.
Agent Provocateur has a bunch of different sub-lines whose name I can't remember, there are high-end ones too but I have never seen those in the US. Maybe they have them in boutiques.
gratiat I'm sort of feeling like I've learned my lesson LOL. The designs are fabulous, but yeah, it doesn't do much for my shape. Sad slump indeed. :'( I feel like I'm getting Claudette flashbacks that cost more! lcl0706 I feel like the reason it works so well for you is your FOB tendencies - I think that profile looks wonderful! wendybien The only sub-line I know of is L'Agent, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there are more. I haven't seen any AP/L'Agent in stores, but I don't live near a normal Nordstrom :o There's an AP store in Jersey according to my shipment though!
Agent Provocateur's higher end line is called Soiree. Their bras start at around $600.
Hi kerniss I'm really desperate to get this bra (likely from eBay) but am dithering cos I've never tried AP before and it sounds like this bra comes up small in the band. I am usually a 32DD / E so I am thinking I should size up to a 34D / DD. Would you be able to say if the cup runs true to size or slightly small also? I am FOB so hopefully shape wise I should be ok. Thanks loads, any help appreciated :-)
This bra is absolutely gorgeous. The materials are perfect, the construction is perfect, and its semi-adjustable straps actually adjust to a length I need! Unfortunately, the mesh on this is extremely loose. Having soft tissue on this quarter cup doesn't make for a good looking shape (IMO), as my boobs are spilling out of the quarter cup yet is not properly contained by the mesh overlay. As someone with a lot of center fullness, I was genuinely surprised that it wrinkled so much in the center. The band stretches to 31.5, which is where I'm most comfortable these days. I can't stress the high quality enough. I'm going to return this and try it in a 32D, hoping that the mesh overlay will be tighter in a cup size down (plus the cups should be narrower). Wish me luck!
