I saw this bra in person in a thrift store and decided to give it a shot in my size, especially since it goes for about 7p on eBay. The band is really tight, I can barely hook it on the first set of eyelets. The cups fit like a dream, but the band could have been cut a little bit deeper under the armpits. The underwires are a bit uncomfortable, similarly to my Panache bras ( especially the 32F - Panache » Tango Ii Balconette Bra (3251) and 32F - Cleo » Melissa (6991) ). All in all, a decent bra with a good price tag. I will definitely look more into Ann Summers.
This is the first time I tried Ann Summers bra. Before I purchased it, I had read almost all the measurements of this brand on the Bratabase from band size 30 to 34 (actually there are very few), then with some calculations, I chose this bra in 32E for my PMS/swelling boobs.
It's really a narrow and deep padded bra, even narrower than the cup width I calculated out. I thought the cups are about 14 cm wide, but actually they are 13.2 cm. Luckily the wires are extremely soft, so my firm tissue can bend them wider to fit my roots. The cup depth is just as ... expected, it's 23.5 cm.
The cup height of this bra is a "surprise". It's the shortest padded bra I've ever tried, although it still have enough coverage on my boobs. So I give the appearance a 4/5 score.
The material of the cups is a little bit stiff, just match the low price of this bra. But generally it's still ok to wear.
The colour and decorations is sure my favorite, just perfect for spring and summer. It's a joy to wear it everyday. Read more 81 more words
This was only £20 or two for £30 so as the first new bra in my size at AS, I thought I'd give it a go, having low expectations based on the fact it takes time for a brand to properly scale bras when they add new sizes.
This bra has hardly any immediate depth but lots of space towards the middle and the top of the cup
The cups are quite tall at the sides and are somewhat closed at the top - they feel similar to the EM PL (in that I don't fill out the cup but it still digs in) apart from the lack of immediate ...depth, which PL have more of, however a bit below the neckline there's a lot of space that I'm not quite filling.
This makes me guess that it would work for someone's breasts with less fullness on top, but plenty of projection and fullness at the nipple
The wires are pretty solid and the wire length is a bit too long for my short torso
I love how short the gore is and how close the cups are together
I have very narrow shoulders and the straps are a bit wide for me. They adjust fully though!
The band is slightly tight as it stretches to 30 inches, but it's quite firm so a large 28 could wear it
The cups have black lace over the lining/padding but it hangs loose, in a way that I've seen before. So it's not a design fault but a style, and it looks good from the front but a bit odd from the side.
The quality is what you'd expect for £15-£20. It's firm enough to do its job but isn't £40-Panache-bra kind of quality! Read more 175 more words
Oh man, this would be the perfect thick-padding-boost bra (I'm talking half an inch thick at the bottom) if it only
- came in my usual size (30G -> which would be Ann Summers 30H)
- had fully adjustable straps
It's got a really low gore and works really well for my fuller-on-top breast shape, plus the cups were surprisingly narrow (around 5 1/2 inches wide)
(I know that the Bratabase measurement for the cups says 7" but that's because unfortunately, for plunge bras, measuring tip to tip isn't really the most accurate way of measuring its width, because you're going diagonally)
Basically, if you're 32FF, tall, or if you know ...how to shorten straps, and your boobs are FOT and narrow, and you have been missing that ultra low gore plus ultra padded cups, then I would recommend!
The slate grey/space grey on this is pretty stunning. If I could have all the things listed above, I'd prefer to have it in the all-silver/grey colourway:
As I'm normally in the 28-30 F-G range this bra was actually closer to fitting than I thought it would be and wow... haven't had cleavage like that in a while!
I'd say it's more like a 28E/F, the band being around 72-74cm when stretched to the max.
I absolutely adore this bra, the colour is so vivid and compliments my boobs very well. However, sadly, I have only been able to wear once as my breasts have grown at a rapid speed. Ann Summers wouldn't take it back as I had already (eagerly) cut out the labels and thrown away the receipt. This bra has been hand washed and very well looked after. - would definitely recommend for a comfortable, yet sexy, bra!
This bra has that kind of graduated padding you don't normally find above DD cups, because I presume, companies think that no one would want to make their E+ cups look bigger.
After finding the Ultimo Paulina worked an absolute treat in 32F ( a cup size down made it fit like how an ewa Michalak S cut would fit, if it had moulded graduated cups) I thought maybe I'd try this one too.
It fit better than expected but fell short in a few areas:
- cups are too wide for me
- cups are too far apart. So I'm getting quadboob and empty cup at the sides. The gore ...half tacks, only the underwire part, the underwire casing gets pushed forward by my breasts. The gore is comfy, but you'll see by the pictures what I mean
- cups are quite tall but it's the underwire length that is the issue
- cups have a surprising amount of depth given the thick padding. In one of the pictures the immediate depth is quite a bit. However I find myself not really filling out the depth apex of the cup
- the moulded cups got a little squashed by the postman I assume
I think this bra would work for the following person:
- taller than me (5"4) or longer torso / breasts lower set
- breasts are further apart and fuller at the bottom and sides Read more 122 more words
If the designer eliminated the space in the middle, this would be a fantastic bra for me. Love this color on you! Thanks for sharing photos :-)
You can try twisting the gore and see of that helps.
Love4Pollinators it also came in dark teal! When I saw two of my favourite colours and a 2 bras for £30 deal I had to be curious. I'll be sending them back and waiting for their next go at this style.
Noob the underwires are a bit too firm to do that I think, plus it's the empty underwire channel at the top that is the issue. They're going back so this is just a guess
I bet if the wires were sewed to touch it would fix a lot of fit issues (but maybe cause new ones?).
cupandahalf it might do yeah! If someone needed 6.5" wide (probably less as this is a plunge so the tall height adds a bit) cups but had close breasts or splayed breast then that would probably work if they knew how to do it.
This one also was pretty but didn't fit. This is supposed to be 32:8 but seems to fit like 30:8 or dare I say, 30:7
I'd say in general the cups are close to Comexim plunges, only the gore is different and the sides feel different too.
However it flattened my boobs out in a way that I've not seen for a long time. I'm so used to wearing projected bras that I forget that some bras do the opposite.
This bra didn't feel like an Ann Summers one to me. I'm used to sighing at the badly sewn diamante covered neon boost bras thinking "who in their right mind would buy this" whereas this one is way more fashion forward, and is seamed rather than contour or push up.
I really wish EM or Comexim would make something in a similar pattern in a half cup style. That would be perfect. Black, floral and digital print are 3 of my favourites right now.
This slip is very comfortable apart for the corset lacing; there is no zipper or hook/eye fastening, so getting in and out of it is a bit of a challenge.
The band is REALLY tight (maybe I couuld try wearing with extender for some time). But bigger problem is cups - there is a lot of gaping, especialy top side corners (in center it is okay-ish) and also at bottom of the cup. And straps dig into my armpits painfully. All in all I think this bra is unwearable for me
I never tried this brand before but I saw this bra when walking past and just had to try it because it’s beautiful. I didn’t really expect it to fit because they’re molded cups on the inside but they work at my current size. The band felt like a usual 34 in the shop but too tight after wearing it for a couple of hours. I might not have pulled the band enough while measuring but it seems more like a 32 band from the measurements I took. I would definitely consider trying a different plunge from this brand as the gore is low enough for my close set breasts.
So pretty, but so, so uncomfortable. The underwire digs in and wiggles down over the day. The straps have a strange placement. Ann Summers' sizing is a bit strange. The cups are a bit of a strange shape, but love the lemon cups under the mint lace.
The construction is okay, fit is a little strange, but overall a good budget bra. It is often difficult to find bras with a less intense coverage for fuller busts, and this bra is wonderful in that regard. It is also nice to find something a bit less grandma and a bit more sexy. I do find that, despite it being uncomfortably tight, it still likes to wiggle its way lower down my rib cage, causing friction and discomfort.
My first bra on Bratabase, the 38C - Ann Summers » Forest Lace Plunge Bra (115698)!
So I bought this a year or so ago at the Ann Summers outlet in Castleford (UK). I'd bought the matching Forest Lace Cami Suspender set (with thong) before Christmas and found this on the January sale racks (to my delight) when I hopefully popped in for a browse. I picked up my size in the matching suspender belt and brief too, as I had to complete the set! I think I got all 3 items for about £30.
I've been a life long lover of Ann Summers, love how sexy their ...lingerie is and love the different colours and materials. I think they went through a bit of a bad patch 5 or so years ago when the quality seemed to drop, but I've been really impressed with their recent years. You can pick up nearly every set with a discount code and/or in the sale if you're signed up to their e-mails and keep an eye on stock levels online or in the stores.
Anyway, onto the bra! Firstly, it's a plunge bra with gorgeous forest green satin cups and a black lace overlay. The lace hangs down underneath the bra, which look really nice with the matching underwear. The bra fits really comfortably with adjustable straps and holds my C cup breast forms in place securely (meant to mention I'm a MtF crossdresser) Oh and it comes with 2 padded inserts if you want that that little extra boost. Definitely a special occasion bra, but also comfy enough to wear all day long.
I'm a planning to list my whole (very large) collection on here, so any and all feedback is welcome!
Ann Summers as a brand has really weird and often inconsistent sizing. I am normally a 30FF or so in standard UK sizing and thankfully this was the least weird bra there size-wise since I just had to sister size up. The bands usually run snug by 1-2 sizes and I'm honestly not sure what's going on with the cups. Ann Summers uses a non-standard progression (DD - E - F - G - H), but even after I figured that out I was still off by multiple cup volumes a lot and kept having to guess at what sizes would work in other styles.
This bra has a bit of a scratchy feel. It is a push-up bra, which can be a bit difficult to find in this size range, and it gives a decent amount of cleavage. I feel like this would be good for a night out, but not for everyday wear.
I absolutely adore this bra, the colour is so vivid and compliments my boobs very well. However, sadly, I have only been able to wear once as my breasts have grown at a rapid speed. Gore is narrow Cup generally looks very pretty Band is true to size if a little tight
Cons:
This fits similar to the sexy lace plunge. Pretty sure it's the same cut.
It would fit someone with wider and shallower breasts than me. Also the cup edge makes me think it would work better for even or fuller on bottom breasts.
Love the fabric look and colour but not keen on the materials
The gathered lace at the bottom at the front doesn't quite look right on me. It's kinda like how many Aimerfeel bras are made, and I'm just not a fan
The cup is too high coverage for me. If the cup gaped and it wasn't as shallow I would consider trying a cup size down, but I don't think it would help
Overall, pretty, inexpensive, would suit tall, wide shallow fuller on bottom/even breasts best.
It is beautiful on you!!
