I am a 28D and I had ordered this bra in a 30C originally, but it was far too large for a 30C (echoed by other people who have tried this bra in 30C). From the size of the 30C, however, it seemed like a 30B would fit. But I was wrong. Although it almost fit me, I have some gaping on my smaller breast, and I think the shape of the bra may be too open at the top (which really shouldn't be an issue with my shallow shape on a balconette). I was reaally hoping this would fit because I really wanted a removable strap balconette, and this bra is also very comfortable, cheap, and simple in appearance.
Quality is terrible. The inner lining is so rough my skin started to peel off. Band is smaller than a 30. There's even thread peeling off. Didnt know my size and got a 30A. Severe quadboob.
Cup shape fits well for slightly full on bottom, shallow/long slope on top as it pushes the breast up and makes top tissue look fuller, but really doesn't sit wide enough. This bra would be amazing on a narrow root. Cups are lined but not padded. Band runs small but stretches well. I expect with material quality being what it is, the band will lose enough elasticity over time to comfortably adjust to anyone in a 28-30 range although if you're normally closer to a 32 you will want an extender at first.
@xuenylom, the color is called "Grey". In person it's a nude base with periwinkle/blue-grey lace, very soft and pretty. I used the model number on the bra's tag for Bratabase, but apparently the website product number is different. That's the exact bra I purchased, though.
So nowhere does it say either "5887125" or "776999" ? That's odd. Is that the same for any other ASOS bras you've purchased?
Maybe your number is for all the colourways but the one on the website is just for grey? ASOS... what a mystery :p
This is the first one I've purchased through them and yeah, their website is AWFUL. For one thing, they have 3 styles named "Remi" (Plunge, Underwire, and Lace), all different cuts. The Plunge style has 4 color listings on separate pages (Gray, Petrol (blue), Red, and Black). The product codes on the site are: 776999, 785997, 775532, and 774064. Those product codes do not show up on the bra's sizing tags. Unfortunately I've thrown away the price tags but I don't remember seeing the site product codes on them, either.
I didn't intend to like this bra this much, but I do like it a lot. The band is really comfy yet snug despite being a 30 on my 26-inch ribcage; the regular elastic at the bottom of the band is supported by a wide band of more-stretchy elastic, so it feels really supportive. Somehow, the underwires never lift from my ribcage, even when I sit up straight and push my shoulders down and back, which usually guaranteed wire slippage in even the tightest of bras (it is currently a mystery why this happens). I really appreciate the boning in the side and the hard underwires. The fabric ...quality is so-so, which I expect from Asos; there aren't any defects per se but the middle straps are unadjustable and the fabric, though soft, just feels slightly cheap. The hardware is tackygold-colored but not too tacky. All in all it's still very cute.
The cups have a lot of lift for something with one horizontal seam (though my breasts are self-supporting, so it's not like they had to do much work) and only cut in a tiny bit. They're not very projected at the apex, which is excellent for me, and the cups have some stretch to them. The unnecessary straps in the middle are really cute and actually lay flat most of the time, a marvel for unadjustable straps. (The actual straps are half-adjustable.) The wire width is also perfectly for me, although the cup coverage and wing height on the side are a bit low, which is probably due to some recent growth on my part, so I should probably be getting a 30D next time. I was hoping that this would be my perfectly average normal black bra, but when I opened the package from ASOS, I thought they'd given me the wrong size, as the cups were twice as big as the ones I have normally. The label did indeed say 30C but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sort of manufacturing error involved.
The wires were terribly wide, which actually didn't bother me; what was bothersome was the giant gap near the gore in both cups. I don't even think water balloons of any size would be able to fill them in, so severe and abrupt were the gaps. Other than that, the bra was what I was looking for, no surprises or anything. There are three rows of hooks, which was a nice surprise.
The only reason I bought this bra on Asos was because I am shamelessly fond of uselessly strappy bras and I don't own any at all, and this was on sale, so.
But! It was an unexpectedly good fit. The material of the cups is satin with stitches running across the cups all over, making for a super fun texture. As you can see, the straps didn't quite work out as I'd hoped; they kind of cross over each other in unappealing ways and the diagonal strap kept pushing down the lace edge of the cup. I ended up using that diagonal strap as a sort of seatbelt for ...my cup and that worked out fine. The fit was very good, wires slightly too wide for me but pretty comfy, and plenty of support. Because of the strap wonkiness and also the act that the edge of the cup was a seam where to layers of lace joined, there was a visible bump under most shirts. The band was not your typical tight zigzag-stitched elastic; the entire band was a supple band of elastic kind of like the kind people use for bandages. This made the bra exceptionally comfy and was still tight enough, or me, anyway. I have a very high loose-band tolerance, though. Read more 106 more words
This is more like a baby longline- not quite a full-fledged longline, but definitely more than a regular bra band. The band extends past the bottom of the cups, but only by a little bit. There is tall boning on the sides. It has three hooks. Three! Quite unusual in this size range.
The band was very firm. I did like it, even if I felt that it covered too much. Very supportive, but there's a reason I don't go for longlines. I'd say it runs small a size. Initially, anyway. It may be more true to size once it relaxes some.
The cups were wide and shallow and ...quite open on top. It did fit me quite well, but, well. The cups were not evenly constructed. There seems to be a bit more fabric on the right cup than on the left, and the top of the cups did not have the same sort of shape. It was probably exacerbated by the fact that my right breast is a bit wider and shallower, but there was a decent gap on the right but not on the left. The edge elastic on the cup wasn't firmly anchored to the lace (or the other way around) and the lace often edged on top of the elastic. It just looked like poor construction and poor quality.
I couldn't photograph the uneven cups satisfactorily, even with me wearing it. It wasn't something that could be expressed with measurements. The top edges of the cups were just uneven and asymmetrical.
Another bra that I got for aesthetics and not for practicality. It came as a set on sale. The fit is nice and the lace is soft and not itchy. Straps are fully adjustable. There is partial padding on the outer edges of the cups which I imagine is to give your boobs a slight lift. The shape this bra gives is pointy on me and so it's hard to wear under any stretchy or thin fabrics. Since the lace on the bra is double layered there was slight wrinkling on the top edge of the cup for me (and I have one slightly smaller breast). Honestly it didn't look as good on me as I would have hoped and might look better on a fuller breast or bigger cup. Otherwise it was a good value~
Did the band sit so low on the back naturally or is it because the band is too large for you? It looks like it has the potential to be a decent fit if the band was firm and sitting in a straight line horizontally around your torso.
Nice deep red colour. The cups were too small for me and the underwires too short. I like the fact that the band closes with three eyelets so it feels more supportive. Unfortunately the band is too big for me.
This might be the worst bra I've ever tried. It's a flimsy bra with only 1 hook so it gives almost no support whatsoever. The cups were too small and gave orange in a glass effect due to the closedness. The underwires were too short for me.
Cute bra lace cup bra, watch out if you have long nails. The cups feel very small on this bra. The elastic on top of them makes it worse as it cuts into my breasts. The band is very stretchy.
This is the first bra that I've ever ordered from Asos. The quality (as expected from other reviews of the brand) leaves a bit to be desired. Noticed loose threads/fraying immediately after taking it out of the package. Band definitely runs small at only 28 in stretched. My underbust is 27.5-28ish and I can wear it, but it's really tight. While I would prefer a slightly wider cup, 4.5 in width is acceptable for me provided that the separation is at least 1 in. But it isn't. It's .75. So it's too narrow and cuts into me on the sides ...a bit. Hard to tell in the pics though since it's all black and I'm small.
I hesitated between buying the 30C and the 30B since I'm a bit uneven. I went with the 30B, but the 30C wouldn't have worked either due to the band length. As expected, the 30B fits my right (smaller) side fine, but even though my left boob doesn't quad (woooo stretch lace!), it's definitely too big for the cup. Makes the 1/2 cup look closer to a 1/3 hah. Had to keep stuffing my nip down prior to taking the pics. I think the bra is really pretty and would exchange it for a 32A if possible in the hopes that a slightly wider cup would better accommodate my left side and not leave my right side swimming, but sadly that size is sold out.
I'm considering exchanging it for the 32B since I like it so much. I'm positive that it'll be too big on my smaller side, but since the stretch lace on the inside is not attached to the outer cup (see pic) I'm hoping that a few stitches will give me a more even look and eliminate the gaping/wrinkling situation that will most likely arise. Or I might just order it in red in a 32A since no size is sold out for that color. Buuuuut (just like everyone else apparently) I really want it in black!
Would be a good choice for a 28C I think. I know that I said that the quality wasn't great (and it certainly isn't upon close inspection), but it's not an everyday sort of bra anyway and is really very lovely looking. Given the price, I think it'd be worth it as a date night etc sort of bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Side note: I also ordered the matching panties in an XS/UK6/US2. According to their size guide I really should be an S/UK8-10/US4-6, but that size was sold out. Thought it was worth a shot since it's a thong, and I was right! Fits perfectly. So don't be afraid to order the XS in this one even if you're usually an S in panties. Read more 391 more words
It's my first and only balconette bra so i'm not used to so much boobage being out. It's pretty but the color is way too strong for most normal summer shirts. It's a mesh bra and I find it a bit itchy. Not exactly a bra I'd recommend.
This doesn't suit my shape at all, as I'm very shallow with close to no projection. It has moulded cups with no padding; no obvious cons that I can see apart from the shape mismatch.
The band of this bra is ridiculously small - 26 inches fully stretched for a size 30A, even after several months of use. That being said, it's the one of the few bras in my collection that actually fit me. The cups are very, very shallow and have pockets for padded inserts (not included). Straps are removable and quite stretchy. Overall, it's pretty comfortable and it's held up ok over time.
So, I tried this in a 30D in a different color as well figuring I'd keep whichever one fit. Turns out neither really fit and this one, while closer, was such a hideous color I couldn't imagine keeping it. The 32C has many of the same problems of the 30D. It was very much the "pointy elf shoe boob" with some quad on top of it due to how closed it was. With a more open top I could call it retro and be okay with that. I wear vintage clothing a lot and sometimes you want a pointy bustline.
The fabric is not very high quality, there were ...a number of loose threads and frayed seams even brand new. Since I paid $13 on clearance I would give the quality a bit of a pass, but the regular price is outrageous. The fabric is at least very soft, but felt very susceptible to snags and pulls. There was a lot of wrinkling and puckering on the band and gore which did not go away on or off. The elastic straps for the cage felt fairly nice though. The colors do not deserve a pass at any price though. The main body of the bra was a fairly nice aqua color, but the cage and straps were hot fluorescent pink. On the ASOS website it had appeared kind of salmon which I figured I could live with, but highlighter pink is a completely different story.
The 32 felt okay, but it might have stretched out too fast had I kept it. I think most people would want to size up in the cup and band on this one, but given its fairly limited size range a lot of people wouldn't be able to. If it shows up on clearance for $13 again, I might try again in a 32D because I've got no good sense.
Needless to say, this one went back. Thank god for free returns. Read more 216 more words
First off, I love the color of this bra and I love the design, but the shape it gives is... interesting. I quaded out of this pretty badly, largely because of how insanely closed the cup was. It was very much the "pointy elf shoe boob" with a bunch of quad on top of it. With a more open top I could call it retro and be okay with that. I wear vintage clothing a lot and sometimes you want a pointy bustline.

The band felt fairly tight for a 30. I could wear it, but it wasn't quite comfortable. It might have been fine with an extender but I didn't have one when I tried it on. I love the visual design of this bra. Despite the band length having a loose fit (probably due to the mesh material) it isn't unwearable. The cups fit well but the applique on one cup was placed slightly higher than the other causing wrinkling/a point at the top. It was visible underneath a fitted shirt but I was able to fix this with a few stitches.
Asos really went for cheap manufacturing these bras. The unlined cups are severely itchy. On one cup, the vertical dart met the horizontal seam awkwardly causing a large weird pucker. It looked like an air pocket for my nipple but my nipple didn't go there. The longline boning was great for my 26 band/back since it allowed for less stretch. I think the cups fit. It was difficult to tell with the lumpy and rough fabric. I'm returning this but would be willing to try the same style/size in a different (and lined) fabric.
Oh man Asos bras, I bought three and returned them before I gave up. It's a pity because they're so cute and affordable but you totally pay for it with quality. Or the lack thereof. All three I tried on had seams that didn't quite match and fit in very very strange ways (like you said, empty spaces that wrinkled/ stuck out funny) I even tried one of their bikini tops for larger busts (so with underwire) but that was a disaster too where the cups were too small and the gore was nowhere near sitting flat. If you end up getting another one I hope you have better luck!!
Hey
Which colour did you get? I can't find this code on the website
