Ughh... I was so hopeful when I bought this bikini top that I would finally have one that fits... Unfortunately, it absolutely doesn't. I was warned by lcl0706 that it ran small, but I assumed that going up a cup size to 30F UK would solve that issue. I don't mind a bit of cleavage with my swimsuits after all. Unfortunately, this arrived with a 7.2" cup depth. That is ludicrous for a 30F. It would be ludicrous for a 30E. WTF ASOS. What is with your sizing? The band runs tight, and I would consider it a TTS 28 band (stretching exactly to 28 inches). ...Seriously, look at these pictures and cry at my pain. This top is also a shape mismatch for me as it's wide/average set and quite shallow. Overall just a major miss. The top also just feels fairly cheap. I hate to say that, but the quality is around Walmart level. I did get it for $15 though so I guess I can't complain too much. Sigh... I shall never have a good bikini. I ended up buying a 34 DD/E from asos when I'm typically 30F. It did turn out the band was too big once I got it wet but it was the size that fit the best dry. Different bikini top though
If you can handle it being so damn wide a 30FF may cover better, as crazy as it sounds. I ended up buying a 32G which sounded freakin insane but it covers the tatas. I also bent the wires somewhat narrower.
This is an "okay" fit, but I have to tighten the halter a LOT (so much so that it hurts my neck) if it's going to life the girls at all. I don't really recommend this to others. As I don't swim often, this does the job, but I'm definitely not going to put it on otherwise.
I'm currently on somewhat of a mission to find usable swim tops after spending a life time in crappy ones. It's my side project when I'm not busy overanalyzing what size and alterations I want to attempt on my next go-round with Comexim.
This was the other top in my original order of two "30G" bikini tops from Asos. If you read my 32G - Asos Swim ยป Hidden Underwired Print Fuller Bust Bikini To review, you'll know already how much of a disaster the white one was. This one is not *quite* so bad. This particular mix n match style runs looser ...in the band than the hidden underwire, and bigger in the cups. However, it's still a big fat LIE that Asos Swim uses UK sizing, because I ordered this as a 30G from the size menu and received a US 30G/UK30F. So, keep that in mind.
30F is a cup smaller in volume than I can usually wear. This top is workable if I don't scoop & swoop. The band is TTS, which means it's too big on me, so I cut strips of elastic and sewed them to the inside of the band to act as a tightener. I would say the cups, at 5.3" wide and 9.0" deep, are TTS for a typical 30F - the problem being, I am not a 30F, I'm an FF-G. So, if you're a true 30F and were to get hold of this top, it would probably fit you quite well.
The double tie halter strap is simultaneously cute, and a giant pain in the ass to tie behind your neck. The insides of the cups have a side sling mesh, which is a great idea in theory, but in reality, if the mesh doesn't cover your nipple, you'll end up with a weird pointy shaped bulge. Of couse it doesn't cover my nipple, so if I were to wear this much I'd want to sew in some liner pads, but the cups are barely big enough to begin with, without pads.
The color is much more vibrant than the website suggested, which I liked. It's a bright teal blue with a crochet lace overlay and visually it's just very cute!
I kept it, and have swam in it twice, but the jury is out on whether I'll actually keep it long term. Read more 296 more words
ASOS will often ask to transfer you to the US site whenever they detect you are in the US, and there you will see only US sizes. If you stay on the UK site it should give UK sizes. I always make sure based on whether I see the letter "I" anywhere!
Yeah I think I heard that after I reviewed the white one & I'd bought this one at the same time. That's so unhelpful of Asos lol. What's even more annoying is even on the U.S. site, there are still some brands of tops listed specifically as U.S. sizing like "US 30G" in the menu & Asos isn't one of them. So they change the sizing without really telling you they're doing it. I shoulda known when I saw the I but wasn't really paying attention to letters other than G in my first order.
Doesn't fit AT ALL. I guess the cup size runs way too small. There is plenty of room in the band, might even say it runs a little big. Poor quality material
The bust fits perfectly, my boobs weren't to close together or too far apart. The band is quite tight (Too tight to wear after a big dinner!) which is the only con!
I bought this bikini thinking I bought a UK 30G, but it was a US 30G and thus about two sizes too small. However, I like it a lot and am planning to return it and get a 34G and alter the band (which seems doable since it doesn't have any underwires that could disort). The cups and band are reasonably sturdy (I don't think the cups will become see-through when wet) and the halter straps aren't flimsy but they hurt my neck when i tied them too tight (since the cup was too small, I had to tie them very tight to csecure my breasts, which is ...a common problem with halternecks of course, but probably not very suited for larger busts. The band is very thin, and I doubt it will support a very large bust too. The lift I get is okay, not amazing but that is to be expected of a bikini top without underwire. It gives amazing cleavage, but because of the too small cups it was way too much on me and looked trashy in my opinion (though if that's what you're looking for: go for it!). The band was very tight, it was snug on my 25 inch underbust, but it will probably get looser when swimming. Still, you might want to size up if you're on the larger end of your band size.
