Beautiful, as always - Avocado never disappoints. The 70J fits like a dream, which I thought it would as I am a 70J in their Calypso A cut. So I am very happy with the RV cut, as a fan of the A and K cuts. RV is the perfect blend of the two styles. One thing I will say is that it is not grey like the pictures on the site. I was hoping for a silvery grey, but I'm still happy with the real colour. In real life it is more of a light taupe, and would be great as a skin-toned alternative to the beige options that are around for fair women. The gore is also pretty damn high on this. Definitely higher than the A and K cuts I have in the same size. This could be a dealbreaker for some. It's not too bad on me, but it limits what tops I can wear the bra with.
Me: Narrow roots, narrow shoulders, evenly round, lots of immediate projection, very soft tissue, fairly centre full, never met a gore I didn't like, left-heavey by more than a cup size, 31" underbust, but prefer tight band with extender. Panache, Freya size 30GG
This is my second attempt at Avocado. I cupped down and went up a band. The band does not seem noticeably longer and measures the same as my 65L. I didn't like the softness of the wires the first time, but I thought the looser band would decrease the distortion. It doesn't. The wires are just really, really, soft. ... It makes me wonder if they are plastic, but as I am not keeping it, I can't pull it apart. The cup fit is better, but it still quads on my centre fullness. There is not enough immediate projection, it's ok, but really not enough to keep, even if it fit better. There is gaping at the strap attachment - typical for my centre fullness. The straps, which I usually need fully extended, seem shorter than most others and cause in-cup quading. The wires are very U-shaped at the centre and fairly tall and angled outwards on the outside.
The materials are soft, no stretch, and well sewn. It is not just the wires, it is the sizing and the lack of immediate projection and centre fullness room. Oh well! Read more 138 more words
** This bra no longer fits as I'm a 30G now, but the review still stands. **
Appearance: I have this in the deep purple colour. Along the top of the cub is a hot pink ruched ribbon and in the centre gore and top of the cup/strap attachment are spotted pink/orange bows. Not sure if I love the bows, but I love the contrast between the deep purple and the bright pink. The colours also really suit my skintone. It gives a lovely rounded shape, very uplifted but still natural. The K cut has less coverage than my other Avocado ones which are in A cut, ...so suit lower necklines.
Fit: The band is very comfortable on the middle hook. It is pretty stretchy and feels slightly loose but it is wearable, though it feels like I'd need to move to the tightest hook after not too long and then a rixie clip. I tend to like firm bands. The cup volume is pretty much perfect, but the top of the cup does cut in ever so slightly on my left breast as it's the bigger one and tends to fluctuate more noticeably. I'd say the bra fits like a loose 30HH or firm 32H. The underwires are U shaped and fairly narrow, which is perfect for me. The underwires do not come very high underneath the arms, which is great if pokey wires are an issue. Read more 135 more words
Oh how I wished this fit. This is the "F model" that Avocado calls a demicup. It is very lightly padded (less so than EM or Comexim) with a lower neckline than the K models. The underwires are a touch wider than the K model as well but not so much that I get empty space on the sides.
I find all of the Avocado bras I've ordered (4 at this point) are nicer in person than they photograph. There are lovely little touches that overall give a more luxurious feeling and for my particular shape, the fit can't be beat.
