My shape: full on bottom, soft tissue, narrow shoulders/roots. (Special thanks to MamaPagan for sending me this to try out!) Appearance: This bra has a beautiful royal blue color! Fit: This was too stretchy of a band for me, but my sister (who is still getting used to ACTUAL fitting bras) liked it and it fit her pretty well. (Just based on my visual confirmation, the gore tacked and the top of the cup was flat, though I think the band is too large. She is used to stretchy, larger Victoria's Secret style bands.) So, it doesn't fit me, but it fits her! Huzzah! (Thanks again MamaPagan!)
A very pretty bikini top, the colour is precious and the fit great. It's comfortable and supportive, yet I wouldn't run around in it - but it wasn't designed for that purpose. As a beach/swimming pool outfit though, it's more than enough.
The band is tighter than most of my bras (Freya's, Curvy Kate's, Bravissimo's) but I only had to go up one size, and it doesn't seem to stretch out a lot. The cup is a tiny bit small on me, but the again, it's a swimsuit, so I'm okay with it.
It gives me a slightly pointy shape, and the coverage is pretty full, especially at the side and along the straps up to the neck which would probably mean big tan lines, if that's a preoccupation of yours. The cleavage is very deep, though, you don't have to be shy; center gore is about 2cms in height.
This bra was advertised as "molded", and it is NOT molded. Also, this "cotton" bra had only 35% cotton, the rest synthetic, so it didn't feel like cotton to me. There are weird crescent shaped foam pads on the outside edge of each cup that gave my breasts a very odd shape. This is not a good bra if you have pendulous breasts, because the fabric was tight enough around the bottom half of my breasts, but wrinkled at the top. It also pushed my breasts out to the sides. I bought it because it was cheap, seamless and basic, but the shape/fit is just too weird, so I'm returning it.
The bra manufacturers really need to come up with different terminology because there is so much confusion over the terms "molded" and "contour." By "molded," they mean that the fabric has been shaped and then set using heat. These are not the kind of cups that stand up by themselves, which I think you may have been expecting. Those kinds of cups are referred to as "contour"... why, I have no idea because I don't think the two terms make too much sense the way they are used.
Ballet Celebration Blossom 32GG I am adding this bra for data/informational purposes only. This Bra is not owned by me at the time of addition to the database.
Celebration Blossom is an underwire full cup bra that is not padded. I got it in a dark blue.
The band measures 24.1” to a max of 36.5”, and had 2 hooks and 3 rows of eyes.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 10.75”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum ...resistance. This measurement is: 13.5”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
I bought this bra a couple of years ago from Brastop; I believe the brand is discontinued now. Band: The first thing I noticed was how ridiculously short the band was. It almost had no back band at all - the label says 32, but if anything it's more like a 28, maybe even a 26. I still need to use a 2-hook extender on the largest hooks. From taking it off, the fabric of the back next to the hooks has gradually developed a rip in it. Cups: Extreme coneboob. Almost '60s pointy. Pretty full coverage, but my boobs (soft, not much upper volume, very saggy and low-nippled) ...don't really fit properly into the cups - the larger one almost does, the smaller one has some wrinkling. This bra has inner side slings, which prevents a broad look from the front, but the cups also make my boobs sort of point to the sides, which is not optimal. It does not lift very much and declines in shape over the day until I get that flattened spade shape Bras I Hate talks about. A cup size smaller may have been slightly better, but then the edge of the cup would have probably cut into my larger breast. Straps: Widely placed and constantly fall off my small shoulders. Quite narrow. Underwires: No complaints about the length of the wires - I'd say they're about medium width, medium height, and encapsulate my breast tissue alright. The gore pulls away from my chest a bit, but again, that might be an issue of a too-large cup size. Design: I have it in black, and the lace looks quite nice but is a little scratchy sometimes. The seams are flat under clothing. It's a simple, sophisticated-looking bra. Overall: The wrong size for me, and the wrong shape, but might be better for someone with broader shoulders and firmer breasts than mine. I think it's constructed more for someone with a higher apex and who is fuller on the bottom. I'm just wearing it now as a desperation bra (laundry day!). Read more 234 more words
Glad it worked for her!
