I don't like this bra too much. My biggest complaint is that the cup is too shallow and the wires don't come in contact with my IFM or anywhere on my ribcage, for that matter. As a result, the band curls under. I'm thinking of removing the wire and using this as a lounging bra. I was thinking of giving it away, but I'm not even sure how to reference the fit or sizing as this (and all other early phase Braologie bras) are custom sized.
Before my discovery and forage into the world of UK sized bras, I was buying my bras from a Hong Kong and Toronto based bra manufacturer called My Heart Lingerie (now known as BodiBra). The concept of their bras was to promote posture correction and the elimination of tissue migration. Their bras had 3 wide hook closures that allowed for a sturdy wide wing, there was side support boning and sling-style bands running along the bottom of the cup. Sizes range from 30-40 AA-J (Chinese sizing). But alas, with my student bra budget of La Senza sale quantities, I gave up on these bras which were $120 a ...pop.
Enter Braologie. It was actually a search on this bra company that brought me here to Bratabase. So we go way back. A quick word on the company itself; they are located in Hong Kong, I believe and only sell bras online. It can be tricky figuring out the sizing on your own, so generally, if you let them figure out your size for you, it usually works out nicely. Their customer service staff is polite and helpful. However, you need to have a thick skin when discussing your body with other people outside North America (generally speaking). What you may consider to be a rude comment might actually be quite normal and polite enough in other cultures.
With that out of the way, let's move on to the bra! The bra being reviewed is actually the second one I received from them. The first one I received was too big in the cup and the straps were spaced too far apart on my back to the point they sat to the outsides of my shoulder blades. In this bra, they got the strap spacing right, but the cups turned up getting too shallow at the bottom. As a result, the bra does not sit on the front of my ribcage but instead, it sits on my boobs and is pushed away from my chest wall. This causes the bottom of the band to fold and be pushed downwards and trying to escape into my inframammary fold. Very annoying. Another thing I dislike is the fact that the shoulder straps are not very wide and also very thin. This causes it to cut little slits into my shoulders no matter how tight/loose, close/far I adjust them.
The one saving grace about this bra is the band and wings. I'm a huge fan of hooks and this one does not disappoint with 4 hooks. The construction of the band is very sturdy and it does not shift around much (this could also be partly caused by the fact it's sitting on my boobs and being pushed out more than it should be). However, the band is comfortable and the wings cover my back and under my arms brilliantly. The cup construction also deserves a nod, as does the general construction quality of the bra itself.
But the rolling under band issue is bad one. Bad enough for me to not enjoy wearing it. I could just need a larger cup that's a bit less shallow. Although I've heard of many cases where this bra has worked out for people, I'm sadly not one of them. Read more 433 more words
