Review of Alana in Black. I measure around 28HH; round, close-set, Full-on-Bottom and Top (Even). Aware that Alana is cut quite tight across the top and typically a Full-on-Bottom style. Definitely is from my experience here.
Band: Nice thick band and straps, the latter of which I thought I would not like but they are comfortable although placed too wide – like all this bras in my size – and I found it very painful (like the Black Alana 28J and White Alana 30H I tried). Have read other views who find it painful. The band is tighter than other 30s due to the black dye.
Gore: The gore ... kinks to the side – mostly my larger left – or sometimes digs into my right breast so I need to re-adjust, although it is not too painful
Profile: I like the shape of it although it is different to the rounded Cleo profile I'm used to. I would say it is a uplifted shape of the blue profile Bras I Hate and Love writes in the her blog post "What exactly is a good shape?" = http://brasihate.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/what-exactly-is-good-shape.html
It is a nice shape for a basic day-to-day bra and it feels like a very pretty everyday bra.
Cups: Because of how tight it crosses along the cup, it does cut a bit into my breast tissue at the top despite the lace itself being lose - a possible combination of tall root and Full-on-Top as it seems to affect my left side more (which is where I more FoT than right side). Right side fits better than the left, no cutting into tissue at top – well, ever so slightly. It is quite a tall cup as well and does show under tops with a more open neck, something to be aware of.
Result: Creases underneath due to the wire wires (when I distort them, it seems to disappear) and the straps and gore are too painful plus I'm not sure if the bra shape is right for me, despite wanting to love this bra so much.
