The Darcy bra is a full-cup style based on the popular Urban Rose, it's a 4 part cup construction with side support. The upper section of the cup has stretchy lace, but it is lined with a non stretchy fabric in this size. The cup edge has a little stretch. The wires are quite narrow on this bra. 18cm in 34JJ! (other Bravissimo bras I measured in the same size, had wire widths up to 20.5cm!) The fabric is very soft and silky. It's actually my favorite fabric that Bravisismo uses.
The bra gives amazing uplift and support.
How it fits me:
The band feels too big and rides up ... just a little. I would already close it on the tightest setting for support. The cups are a tiny bit too big, there is slight wrinkling on top. I think that the wrinkling is caused because the cups are a bit too tall for me in this size. The wires are as usual a bit too wide on the sides and I get some wrinkling there too. (I don't think the wires are bad, they are better than on most bras I tried)
I used to love this full-cup style when I was around the size of 34KK/34L. It gave my super tall, FOT boobs the best support and coverage. You really need a sturdy bra at that size and the Darcy is one! Now that I lost weight, I also lost some of my upper fluffy fullness. I can barely fill these tall full cup styles anymore and had to size down a lot. I also think that I should size down to a 32JJ in this bra. On the other side I'm a little scared that the really tall top section could push my boobs down if it's not too big anymore. Another thing that I noticed that Balconettes with a less large upper cup section might work better for me at my current size and shape, and that traditional full cups are just too tall for my boobs now.
Additional measurements:
Cup height of the lower cup half (from wire to where the fabric meets the lace) : 18.5cm
Cup height of the upper cup half: 9.5cm
For comparison: Melrose has a lower cup half or 17cm and a upper cup half of 11.5cm, the apex of the bra is much lower than on Darcy. (keep that in mind , not all full-cups are the same even if Bravissimo claims they are all the same shape modelled after the Melrose)
