A nice, supportive bra that gives a great shape and makes me look smaller it’s comfortable and I like the fabric. Being only 1.63m that doesn't give me much space under my arms and between my huge breast. So I like the wires size. I'm usually a 34-36 and bought 38. And the L cup is almost like KK cup from Panache. It’s my first Bravissimo and I must say it does run smaller than other brands, but it's a pretty good shape and the wires are comfortable. Unfortunately like very often the cup size is too small for me. (Tight but wearable) A very good bra but now to be really satisfied I wait larger cup size from Bravissimo Brand.
Annie- I'm curious since the 38L is still too small in the cup for you, have you considered trying the Alana in a 40L or the Harmony or Melody in 40KK and altering the band? Bravissimo send me a 40K by accident and it made me think of this.
Hello Manchan,
In fact I do that very often with Panache, Fantasie, Freya, Goddess and Elila bras. But I can’t speak about that on Bradatabase because it’s not the aim of the site. Thank you for your advice! I think all of us have the same idea when we have too big breast for standard brands.
Aha, I see! I was just so depressed for you looking at your reviews, haha! Seems like nothing was fitting you besides unflattering bras. Us larger-busted ladies are quite the seamstresses by force of habit, are we not?
Unfortunately Yes! And more for clothes than bras in fact! lol!
I tried this brain the 38L and it is a nice quality item BUT it does not quite fit my boobs, and was completely unwearable as the back size is to large for me, 34 inches. Bravissimo please bring out some larger cup sizes.
It could be a fine bra, but simply not for my shape despite bratabase research. The wires are way too U-shaped for my splayed roots and the cups lack depth at the wire and general projection, despite also weirdly wrinkling right above the apex. Also, if you're in between 26 and 28 bands like I am (26,5 snug underbust) it might be too big in the band.
Really useful review, thanks! It's a pretty bra, too bad not the best fitting. We're quite similar, I realised in shape, size and measurements. I'm around a 26.25/26.5 UB and I wear 26 bands. With 28s, the wires move around. I wouldn't dare to wear a 28 😂
I'm always in search for a lounge/sleep bra works well enough for me to work from home and sleep in, so I figured I'd try out the Nova lounge bra from Bravissimo. I've slept in it a few nights in a row, and it's VERY comfortable. The material feels a bit like swimsuit or leotard material, but is very soft. Fitwise...I do either leak out of the sides a bit or overflow in the middle if I swoop and scoop. I've been noticed that a number of my bras are a bit small on me lately, so maybe I need to go up a size. If only half cup sizes went up to a J...
The Nova looks like a good sleep option! I have Bravissimo padded sleep bras which have been better, actually, as errand bras.
I had Nova as a sleep bra too in 32J and had the issue that my boobs would fall out of the side and middle. I now use 34HH-J - Bravissimo » Zara Bralette (it's almost too pretty as a sleep bra) and 34HH-J - Bravissimo » Racerback Sleep Bra (NW234) which do contain my boobs better.
I already have this bra in 32J, 32JJ and now in 32K, so it was always with me on my size journey. It's a special bra because it looks like a crop top. I like that about it. There is a regular bra under the top part hidden with wires. The fit on this 32K is spot on for me, the band felt at first a bit snug, but it stretches out quite quickly as I know from experience so I prefer to break it in rather than size up. The cups fit well, they are not too tall or too wide for me. The bra give a forward projected shape ...and keeps your boobs in the contour of your body. I love that about it. It's a very flattering shape, rounded and uplifted. Support is great thanks to a thicker band and 4 hook closure. Straps are half adjustable. The only thing I have to mention, when I first break in a new Arla I get some weird wire pain by the middle of the day at the underwire on the sides. I need to use some braliner for relief. The more I wear my Arla the less painful their are. I think it mights be the rather hard wire + thick band + tight fit causing this? Read more 108 more words
My first sports bra from Bravissimo. I bought this at a very good price in used condition to figure out my size. So I have worn it on 2 days already. It is not bad, it feels very supportive. The exercise I would like to use it for is light exercise at home, hiking or cycling and for that the bra is supportive enough. But I think that it is just a bit too small, the gore just does not tack on me.
Also I feel that the cups are quite shallow and wide. On the first day I have worn it it felt good but I removed it as ...soon as I got home. Today I wore it for a full day to test it - it started to hurt in the afternoon around the underwire and felt constricting.
The band is not even tight, I wear it on the tightest setting already. I think it is the cups that are too shallow and small for me. I'd look to try a 34JJ now. This bra is known to have a very tight band so I will stick to 34s for now. It is comparable in constuction to Elomi sports but less pointy in shape. It also runs 1-2 sizes smaller compared to the Elomi which currently fits me in 32J. Read more 112 more words
Measurements have been added. Suprisingly small cup depth at only 34cm for the size and wide wires at 22 cm. (The bra was preowned so I'm not sure how much those cups have been stretched out ) Suprisingly my Elomi Sports bra 32J has deeper cups than this one! http://bra.pe/CPQk/ I love those comparison tools on Bratabase. Thanks Jj :) :) :)
I’m super curious about Bravissimo sports bras. I haven’t tried any yet. I do feel like all of the sports bras I have tried have super wide wires though, don’t know why that is. Have you tried any polish brand sports bras? The only one I can think of is Krisline though.

braluv since the bra is used, not sure how accurate measurements are. A 34JJ measures a bit smaller in cup width but not much... Yes I also never found a non wide sports bra. But I think that for best support and bounce control you need to have boobs close to chest so they have wider wires with shallower cups. I never tried any polish sports bras.
Good point, I never thought about that perspective for having the wider wires.
Most reviews on the Bravissimo website recommend going up 1 band size and up 1 cup size in this bra.
I originally reviewed this in size 30GG, review found here: http://bra.pe/X6Xz/
This size fits much better! I will say that in both sizes I’ve tried the straps are set very wide in both the front and the back. This causes a smaller arm hole. For some this may be if some concern and a matter of comfort. My personal preference would have been for it to be a little less far apart. In this size I at least do not experience any armpit rubbing. The over all look is still very cool. You could wear this with low cut V tops to add a hint of cover, yet still show some cleavage. I feel very securely held in this bralette/wireless bra. The wide under band is wonderful and doesn’t roll up! So far I only see this being offered in black, but would love to see some other color options. Over all I’m very pleased to have this in my wire free collection.
This looks great on you, Happy2BraShop ! I'm amazed the band doesn't roll up. I'll have to take a closer look at Bravissimo's product page.
Have you tried other Miss Mandalay before? I had trouble finding this bra outside of Bravissimo's website. It looks like a Miss Mandalay bra but sold by Bravissimo. So the fit may be more like MM.
Jj Oh snap. I totally missed that this was a Miss Mandalay product when I entered it into the data base. But I did receive this from Bravissimo. So sorry about that. Is there a way to update it to reflect it is a Miss Mandalay via Bravissimo? As for trying other products from MM, I have not. But I may give their other items a whirl if something speaks to me. :)
Update: 3 years later. I still own the very same bralette that got tons of wear and been in the washing machine many times. I don’t think I own any other bra that would survive what this Bralette been through. The lace didn’t tear, hooks didn’t get damaged. It did stretch a little but not that would become a completely different size. Even the fact I’ve lost a bit of weight and wear size down in bras and bralettes now - I still can wear this one but it is just less compressing/fitted. Since 2019 I’ve been purchasing Zara bralettes regularly from the website and whenever one pops out ...on reselling platforms. I own / owned all the colours and will carry on the purchases. My collection has around 15 of them - if not more. They are certainly addictive like EM bras 🤭. It is a total game changer that made my life so much better when I can’t or don’t want to wear my Ewa and Comexim bras. However if you do need something more sturdy, check Flora Bralette as the lace is a bit thicker and stronger but expect less stretch in the cups.
I got this bralette recently as I feel like sometimes I just need wireless bra for wearing it at home but at the same time get some support. I must say the bra has it all. I didn’t wear it for long time but couple of hours while doing some tidying up at home definietly made it to pass the test! It’s bit pricey but feels like it’s totally worth it. I tried before Freya fancies top, Cleo bralette, Wacoal and few other high street but none could meet my expectations. The only other bralettes that I can accept is Bali and Due Lune. Cups are good volume for my recent ups and downs, and probably I could do with 30E-F as well. They have little of stretch. Band feels comfortable and secure, not too tight (I’m 72cm underbust). Straps placement works well on my narrow shoulders, they don’t adjust but I’m fairly high set and it feels fine. Now need to get the grey one and I’m sorted for next couple of months! Oooh this is really pretty. Glad that it worked out!
I've been looking at this one for ages. Looks good on you
That looks so pretty on you! Yay for a good fit :)
Such a pretty pattern. Glad it works well. :-)
This is so gorgeous! Its so hard to find a good fitting bralette - so glad you found your unicorn
That’s so cute! Glad it worked out.
Thanks ladies for all kind words!! I totally recommend this bralette to whoever can fit into its range ;)
HHmm, I might have to consider this one! Looks comfortable and pretty.
Ooh! Wow! Thanks for sharing this review and the pictures. It’s super helpful!
Ohhh I love this! Super cute. Thanks for posting pictures! I am not sure if you have tried the Tutti Rouge options--I haven't but those are cheaper. They have been reviewed by a few bloggers.
The wide band looks so comfy. My bf is super nervous about me sharing pictures as well. He always makes sure there is nothing in the background and tells me to remove all exif data.
wendybien I just had a look at them and i think ill give them a try also! :)
aboobaccount my bf works in information security so i hope he will never find out about that hahah :D . And yes, the band is pretty comfortable - I'm petite person, 5.1' only and usually find longer bras to cause me discomfort but this one seems fine!
So the Amelia bra I wanted to order in my usual size 32K but customer service talked me into getting it in 34JJ because it runs small in band. I don't know where they get that info from, but my bra certainly does not run small. I compared it to 32K Millie and 32K Mabel I got in same order and the band of Amelia is 6.5cm longer! So do NOT size up in band! I rather break in a band in with and extender than deal with an already too large band. Also the Amelia bra is too pretty for some messy band alternation.
My shape: narrow / medium ...roots,center full projected, full on top.
Getting that out of the way back to the bra. It's a really pretty bra with some extra strap detail on back and front cups. It's kinda cute but to me it would also be ok without it. The bra doesn't look as pretty in my size range than on stock photos. The band is definitely too large. The straps are very stretchy. If I adjust the straps shorter the band wants to ride up and if I make the straps longer the top of the cups feels more loose.
The wires are rather wide, the cups are not very projected and very tall. They come up very high on me. The wire and gore are very tall. The top section of the cups is very stretchy lace which adjusts to your shape. There is a lot room left but if you don't use it the lace still lies flat. I think I could even size down a cup size and there would be enough room with the stretch. I'd also prefer a less tall cup. However I fear the bra be then too shallow for me at the bottom in a smaller size. It's hard for me to judge if this bra would be a winner in the right size or it would feel too weak with to many stretchy parts for my rather heavy boobs. I don't know if it's worth to try 32K or 32JJ in this bra.
update after measurements; the band on this bra measures 76cm unstretched, and 88cm stretched. It's slightly less stretchy than Millie or Mabel band, so I think that is what they meant to tell me. But my underbust measures 76cm so the band as it is does not much for me. Read more 294 more words
This bra is so pretty on you! Sorry the sizing didn’t work out. Hope you can figure it out
margesimpson thanks :) I just measured this bra and found out that the band measures the same as my underbust does unstretched that's why I feel it doesn't do much for me.
That’s annoying that it runs big in the band! Like you, I much prefer a too small band and just use an extender for a while
This looks lovely on you. I love the detail at the strap. Hopefully you can find a size that works for you. It really is a beautiful bra on you.
really pretty, this looks almost Ewa Michalak -ish, with the stretch lace.
I normally don't like white or light-colored bras, but this looks really nice! A pretty, delicate, feminine design. Total opposite of your Mabel!
Too bad the band advice didn't work out for you. And too bad in general that you're having less luck in recent Bravissimo styles.
Thanks for all the reviews though! Much appreciated.
margesimpson yes me too because bands usually stretch out with time. I was advised by Bravissimo customer service to size up which makes it even worse. I wanted to buy 32K but they told me not to. :S I had recently a 32K by Bravissimo which I couldn 't close so I believed them. It's annoying how inconsistent their sizing is recently!
Bravissimo Millie has been around for years and it came in a bazillion colours. I tried it a while back in HH - J cup range and found it shallow, wide and kinda flimsy and unsupportive. So when I was recently talking to Bravissimo customer service they talked me into giving it a try again in my current 32K cup size. They said it's a really good bra in large cup sizes. What made me do it, was that the new "pink" colour way has the new more narrow wires which work generally better for me and that it was pink. I want a pink bra for years but ...cannot find any in my size range that works for me! Speaking of, I would not call this colour pink, maybe coral pink but it's actually neon coral, the same colour as 32J - Bravissimo » Dina Bra (LN578) which was called coral back in the day.
My shape: narrow / medium root, center full projected, full on top.
So about the bra - it's just not for me even with the new wire. The bra is still rather wide and shallow and the cups come up very high and bother me under my arms. I have trouble to adjust the bra and have it stay in place. The wire wants to slide down as there is not enough projection at the wire. there is some empty fabric on the side because the wire is too wide. Also the bra just doesn't feel supportive enough. I only judge it from like 30min trial wear. There is just too much stretch everywhere. I feel like I want to wear the band on tightest setting - despite it not being much bigger than my other bras. Straps are very stretchy and cut into my shoulder. The top section of the cups is also very stretchy which is apparently good for FOT but I feel I have to constantly adjust my boobs and the cups are being pushed down... What is also weird is that the bra gives a slight east-west shape, which I dislike. It's just weird but I guess these very stretchy bras are just not for me. My boobs are too heavy for that, they need non - stretch material for optimal support. So sadly the new improved Millie is still a no go for me. Read more 285 more words
Bummed for you it didn’t work. That color is amazeballs!
Happy2BraShop finally a pretty colour in large sizes! there has been a trend for neutrals lately and I really missed colourful bras! That's why I gave it another chance.
Apollo Sports bra is a new bra but based of the pattern of Bravissimo Inspire sports bra. The Apollo has now a racerback function and cup sizes J + have improved narrower wires.
I really like this bra, it's even nicer than on the photo because there it looks like navy and orange while in real life it's navy & pink a color combo I love. The bra feels comfortable as far as I can tell after trying it on briefly.I noticed the difference in wires, this has more narrow wires and the cups are deeper. The gore tacks in this bra while in the old sports bra in ...the same size it never did.
The band runs very tight, while I usually wear a 32 band I had to size up in this. I also size up 1 cup in sports bra. The straps are thick and padded, they feel very nice. But because of that they are not fully adjustable. If I don't use the racerback option the straps are just a bit too long for me. If I use the racerback option then they feel too tight. I prefer to wear the straps the regular way, as the racerback gives me too much pressure on my neck. When I first tried it on I had almost a little room in the top of the cup, it comes up bit higher than the old sports bra. I really like this improved bra and wish it works for me. I think the cups are slightly too tall on me. I am not sure if I could size down to 34JJ ... that could also maybe straps issues? Read more 167 more words
Just got this bra among a few others from Bravissimo. I thought the light beige colour could make a great t-shirt bra for me. I actually really like the colour and say it's even a geat colour as a nude bra if you are paler than me.
The Lola bra is for everyone who loves a very uplifted green shape (referring to the famous BrasIhate blog post) and really don't have a problem with a very retro look aka pointy boobs. Everyone else, avoid it.
I don't mind the green shape if it's rounded enough to not look like you wanna poke someone. ( For example in Ewa Michalak ...BM bras) It's not the case with this. It's so pointy, I feel uncomfortable with it. So about the fit, it's what you'd expect from Balconette in that size range, typical to other Bravissimo bras. The cup edge are very tight and cut in, so it's not FOT friendly. The wires kinda wide and I have slight wrinkling on sides. Straps are kinda seperate but I've had worse, cup height on the side is also bearable. Quality seems nice, fabric is soft.
This bra is apparently based on the Candy Bliss (CB). Now I had CB and the shape as never like this. Marguerite by Bravissimo has the same cut. Marguerite and Lola are discontinued, so grab them now or if you are like me who dislikes them, good riddance. Read more 128 more words
Hmm, the pointy retro look..I've yet to try a bra like this. In my country (well, I've lived in both Canada and US) the pointy retro bra is not common - mostly we have the molded cup/perfectly rounded/Barbie-Doll-shaped-boobs look from Victoria's Secret.
I discovered BrasIHate recently, but another cool bra blog I learned of recently "Hugs for Your Jugs," lots of good info on there.
I too am not a fan of the pointy retro look but it happens to me a lot with unlined three part bras that aren’t Polish :/
Is it just me or is one cup more round and less pointy than the other? Seems like a weird quality control issue unless it’s just my (poor) vision.
pretty_promise , I didn't really notice. Most people have a larger breast on the left side, I read.
BraOdyssey on the left? How fascinating! Where did you read that? Now I’m all curious to know if they know WHY it’s that side.
alisa i too dislike the pointy retro look for my bras, and I see what you mean about this one, very very pointy.
dagmarwulfe , I can't remember where I read it! Lol. I just remember it b/c my left side is slightly larger!
dagmarwulfe , I just googled it and it came up on this "Everyday Health" facts about breasts, number 2.
dagmarwulfe BraOdyssey I've seen it floating around the Internet without any real solid scientific sources that it's because the left breast is closer to the heart. Something about blood flow, but I'm not sure how true it is.
Guys, I added a "scary underneath" picture (which was invented by dbmamaz and adapted by many users here) to clear up the confusion. Yes both boobs are very pointy in this bra. It's the bra not the boobs :P It just has this cut, kinda like pyramid where there is an apex very high set in the bra. I think it should make your boobs look perky. For me that is too perky.
I prefer the purple shape over the green shape. I find it more flattering on me. Since I already have big boobs I don't want them to stick out even more, rather prefer close to chest round shape.
Holy heck, you’re right that bra is super pointy lol! It must’ve been an optical illusion/the angle on the other picture you uploaded, it kinda hid how pointy one side was.
Honestly that is probably the pointiest bra I’ve ever seen, not gonna lie!
It gives pyramid boob. Also the most elfshoe looking bra I ever saw. I did not expect that. I tried some elfshoe bras by Bravissimo but this tops them!
LOL I was so confused trying ot figure out why I was tagged! that is a really pointy bra
I recently wore this again after a long time of neglecting it because the band was too big for me. All my other bras felt so uncomfortable and my go-to Lacey in 32JJ would cut in. If you read any of my Lacey reviews you know Lacey has stretch lace only up to J-cup! So this fit me better than it's sister size 32JJ without any stretch lace.
Also general info about Lacey - check my numerous reviews. So I gonna talk here just about my recent experience. The bra felt nice when I put it on as there was no cutting in on top. (Recommended for full on ...top shape as long as you are in the stretch-lace size range!) But the band I had to close at the tightest setting. It was okay until mid-day when I felt more and more pressure on my shoulders. The bra started to feel less and less supportive. The band rode slighly up and the cups were pushed down my the weight of my boobs and the shape got more droppy. Now before you think it's a bad bra... I inspected it closely and it shows signs of use like small loose elastic bands. I had bough this bra preloved and worn it a few times after I got it- so I guess the previous owner must have worn it a lot before me. I think it needs to be retired soon. Read more 131 more words
The Bravissimo Dina is a true balconette style. The cups are made of a 3 part construction, the upper part of the cup is not stretchy in this size. There is a nice added fancy strappy detail on the cups. This bra comes up to UK L-Cup. I think it is awesome that Bravissimo tries to offer something a bit more special in their largest size range! The band does run true to size like usual Bravissimo bands. My underbust is currently aroun 31 Inch and this fits me just fine. I think that Bravissimo bras run generally 1-2 cup sizes smaller compared to other UK brands. I ...can wear a 32J in Elomi but size up to 32JJ in Bravissimo.
The shape is very good, centered and projected. I have to say that on bigger days there could be just slight quadboob between the cup Edge and the extra strap, especially if you have soft boobs… the strap is very stretchy though so it should not cut in much. It's barely visible. Just saying that this could be an issue in some cases. On smaller boob days I get slight gaping towards the shoulder straps because the bra is just quite tall (like all Bravissimo bras). I lost just a tiny bit of boob volume lately so the gaping became a bit more obvious. I'm not sure if I already need a size 32J in this now. The bra was a perfect fit 2 months ago though…it's still wearable now.
One Thing about the extra straps at the gore…if you like lower cut necklines they will show. I like the look, it's cute. But it only goes with black tops and Maybe Grey ones. Now in summertime I just find myself not reach for this bra so much. So for a bra like this I recommend getting a black colored one if you want to show it off.
update after 1 year 9months of owning this bra. I have worn it a lot and it is time to retire. It held up well being in heavy rotation for over 6 months and worn occasionally later. It just recently got a bit unsupportive. The wires stayed put. I decided to retire this bra, I removed it's good wires to put in a weaker bra and will use the non wired Dina as a sleep bra now until it falls apart. Read more 289 more words

What a good value! Do they still make this?
cupandahalf Sadly no, it's discontinued. It was a good bra, I wish I could still get this. Actually got it for 22£ sale price so even better value. I still have two 32Js that are in my "box for size changes" but currently I'd rather need a 32K :S The Dina wires I will use on my Elomi Kim to make it hopefully more wearabe!
Flora is sold out in this colour in most sizes but Bravissimo customer service confirmed there will be new colours this year. It is based on the shape of Bravissimo Zara Bralette (LN605) but made with stronger materials and thicker lace overlay. I have both bras, I mainly use my Zara for sleeping / lounging and love it. But it has it's flaws, the band is feeling loose and rides up and with time my boobs push it down at the front, there is also a lot of weight on the straps. So enter in Flora and OMG it is so much better! It's an improved stronger ...Zara with added layers inside and stronger lace outside for extra support. In Flora my band stays put and my boobs are help up properly by the cups. It is like a lace top with boob support. I was shocked at how well it supports my boobs! If I wear it under a top no one would guess that I don't wear a wired bra! The shape is uplifted and round as you can see in my T-shirt pics.
The fit: So I had to go for the 34HH/J as my regular Bravissimo size 32JJ-K is not available. It does so far not cause much problems. The band feels tight and supportive. The cups could be a bit bigger but they hold in my boobs well and I get no center overspill. They keep my boobs close to chest. There is some slight side overspill under my arms but that doesn't bother me much in a wireless bra and it was expected. I think I use a bit of the band as cup therefore the band feels tighter than it is. I mean I was actually shocked at how large the band is when I measured it, but it makes sense in this case.
I tested the bra at home I think at most I wore it for 3-4 hours in the evening and it held up very well over that time! I'm not sure if I could wear it a full day instead of a wired bra. And here we come to the downsides of this bra: The straps and the weight that is on them. First straps are non adjustable. it is just okay for me but anyone who is taller or has a longer torso / low set boobs would struggle. (I'm 169cm , 5''6 ) Second as my boobs are quite big and there is no wire to help carry the weight there is maybe a 50% division of weigh between band and straps. Note in well fitting bra it should be 80% carried by band. I think that the boobs are closed to chest in this bra helps some with the weight. I think you should only size up as much as your need, if it's too big in cups you loose support. It's kinda like a non wired sports bra but more pretty and fancy and you can get seperation at the center because of it's shape. For me it isn't possible to get much seperation as I said the cups are on the smaller side for me.
Anyway I really recommend this Bralette for larger sizes too and if you are not too tall / don't need very long straps! I hope Bravissimo will continue to make it and will expand the size range up to JJ/K cups too. It is really well made and supportive and the bestBralette I tried so far. Read more 479 more words
Looks great on you and I'm glad you like it. Look how different it looks vs mine, the band on mine completely disappeared under my boobs, or my boobs were using the whole band as the cups too lol. How it looks on you is how I expected mine to look. :(
That is beautiful and looks great on you! Now I want to try one, even though I’m not usually a fan of bralettes.
The Lacey bra is one of my favorites from Bravissimo! I fell in love with it when I put it on. This 30JJ is a bit tight for me in the band so I wear it with an extender for first few wears. It has the wider band and straps and the 3x3 hook closure. (Weirdly this bra comes up to HH- cup with a thin bands 2x3 and thin straps, which I very much disliked. )
The bra is one of the most supportive bras I tried from Bravissimo. The cups are quite tall and a bit on the shallow side. They are not too shallow to cause ...issues for me. The cups are also very roomy and the wires are an average width for this size range. The cups are made of a nice lace and lined with beige fabric on the inside. The upper part of the cup is stretchy in sizes up to J - cup but from JJ cup it has an extra lining that isn't stretchy.
I do like the unstretchy cups too, as I have enough room on top for my tall fot boobs. They also feel very supportive and the Lacey is the bra I can wear all day and move around a lot and nothing ever falls out of the bra. It's also very comofortable to wear all day. The straps are wide and more centered on this bra compared to other bras (as Bravissimo states on their website) I think it does make a difference as they are less likely to slip from your shoulders. This is good for me since I struggle with too wide set straps on balconette bras that cut into my arms.
I highly recommend the bra especially since it is so supportive in larger cup sizes. I just have to say that the slight shallowness and the height of the cups could be a problem if you have short roots and need very deep cup. For my shape Lacey is close to perfect. I'd buy it in every color. Read more 234 more words
The Arla bra is based on 32J - Bravissimo » Maya (LN655) but it has a t-shirt fabric over bra rather than a lace. Maya comes with 3 hook closure while Arla with a 4 hook closure in sizes above GG - cup! The Arla is a truly amazing bra! I would not want to miss it and I'm sad I did not buy more before it was sold out in the black color. (There is a new white / navy one that comes now up to K cup!)
So when I put the bra on it felt very tight. The band is on the smaller ...side. I can close it, but I prefer to break the bra in with an extender. If I'd buy another I'd go for the 34HH even! I also think that because it's a black color, the band feels tighter. It's about 2-3 cm smaller than on my Maya. So as soon as I added the extender I was in love with the bra! It feels so supportive. I love the wide band with the 4 hooks! The cups are a good fit on me and the fabric offers some extra coverage. I can wear this bra under a low cut top and it will looks like I wear a cami top underneath. The gore will never show.
Speaking of gore, it tacks and the wires are of average width for this size range. I have no issues. The shape I get in this bra is perfect, round and fron't and center. There can be no east west as the top fabric also helps to center the boobs. It feels supportive and comfortable all day. I just feel so neatly dressed and have never to worry about my boobs with this bra. There can also be no quadboob or gaping on show since the upper fabric will smooth it out. I think that this bra can work for well for minor size fluctuations that don't affect support. (Like 1/2 cup size PMS differences) It was very comfy on my PMS boobs while other bras hurt me.
One thing I don't like so much is the decorative orange band under the bra. I mean it looks cute on the photos. In reality it just rolls up especially if you have some extra chubb under the boobs... it does not lie flat 1 sec. So if it rolls up under it can bother me. I have a trick now so it does not bother me. I already roll the band up but so it's up on the outside so it lies outside of bra on the rest of band and wire. Apart from that this bra is everything and I wish Bravissimo brought the black back and added more colors or neutrals... I'd buy it. Read more 360 more words
Ooh I love this! This will be perfect for those low cut tops!
That almost looks wireless? It looks amazing. Congratulations on the great find!
Yes the bra is amazing!!! It looks like sporty crop top. But supports like a bra. 4 hook closure should be mandatory in all the bras J cup and up. They even expanded the size range now comes up to K-cup in a new color.
I love that look. I actually buy crop top tank tops from forever 21 to wear over bras with low cut tops that fit just like that puter layer. They really help smooth things out just like you describe, I have 4 colors!
Ugh, just as I finished writing the review I refreshed the page by mistake and it was all gone https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> So, starting again - this sports bra is similar to the Bravissimo Skye, my all time favorite sports bra. Strangely enough these wireless Bravissimo sports bras don't seem to be too popular here on Btb, which I can only attribute to them being underrated given the excellent bounce control and shape they give. The size is not right for me in this bra, so I can only judge how it behaves with trying it on, but not in the long run. About sizing, this ...runs large in the cups (same as the Skye) by about one cup size compared to my usual UK size. This is unlike the regular Bravissimo bras which are usually one cup small compared to my usual size. Regarding the size, as it's too large in the cup for me I get the usual symptom of a too large cup in a wireless bra, which is that the straps/cup digs into the arm - as there is too much fabric that would be "cup depth" but without wires it's not contained in the cup and is being pulled out by the band. About the shape, I get a rounded but minimised shape in this although it's not a perfect size match. The materials seem to be good quality and soft. The cups are made from two layers of material, the inner one non stretchy while the outer one stretchy. The band feels stable and I like that it has equal tension between the band material and the upper and lower elastics. The straps are wide and padded at the part where they sit on the shoulder, and they are positioned quite close to the neck (as it's usually the case with racerbacks), which I personally find very comfortable. People with narrow shoulders will also find this to be useful. The only downside that I see is that it's really hard to get the bra band fastened in the back. Since it's a racerback you can't fasten the band before putting the straps up on the shoulders, so it requires a bit of effort, especially as the band has 4 rows of hooks and eyes. The fact that the straps are partially adjustable (unlike the Skye) can be an advantage here, as they could be loosened a bit if needed. Read more 299 more words
I have a horrible habit of hitting the back button by mistake, so I feel your pain....
I like the look of this bra and personally really like wireless sports bras. They are wonderful for when you need a break from wires but still want support for the day.
It is good to know this runs large in the cup, so thank you for adding that info! I too experienced their regular bras to run small in the cup so I have avoided the brand, but will now look into this one for sure. Thank you again for the insightful review!
I got this bra for a good price on eBay. It is a full - cup bra and has the same cut as my 34KK - Bravissimo » Darcy Bra (LN260) bra. The material is a soft silky fabric that is at the same time looking sturdy. Much better fabric than on 34K - Bravissimo » Georgia Bra (LN563) The top of the cups features stretchy lace but they are lined. The lace does not stretch much but feels very supportive because of the lining. I love the light pink color. The band is very firm and does not stretch too much. ...Ideally I would wear a 34 band in this bra.
The support and uplift is superb. The bra gives a very center front shape with lots of forward projection, also a round shape from the side. The shoulder straps are not too narrow and fully adjustable and don't slip. The cups are rather tall and deep, there is lots of room at the bottom and top of the cups. I think this bra is better for full on top shape, if you are more full on bottom you probably have to size down.
Issues I had:
The band feels a bit too tight. The cups come up too high under my arms and I cannot fill the top section. If I adjust the shoulder straps very short to get rid of wrinkling in the cups. I feel like they don't need to be that tight and that it makes the underarm issues worse. I don't think it is such a bad fit, but I think I need to size down in cups to get better support and less tall cups. I'd love to try this in 34JJ.
Edit: I decided to keep this bra because it's really close to a good fit. I thought it would work well on bigger boob days and it does. Fits perfectly on my pms boobs, I got rid of almost all wrinkling. Also I don't find the band too big anymore, I wear it now without the extender. With the extender I even felt like the band rode up a bit. The shape is amazing, boobs inside the contour of my body, I look like I'm 1 clothing size smaller in this. Read more 276 more words
Thank you for this informative review. This bra looks supportive and comfy.
ooh here's to hoping you'll be able to try this in a 34JJ. It looks like it would be very supportive.
I decided to Keep this bra because it's the closest to a good fit I currently have besides Panache Tango.
I too have the Erin and can relate to your issues. I have a substantial amount of wrinkling at the seam in the under cup so I am glad to see that you don't have that problem. I noticed after about my 8th wear or approximately 2 months, the eyes have begun to pull themselves out and although this would not be the first time, I have never had this problem this early with any Bravissimo bras. I hope you don't experience this.
l454d Actually I just noticed that 2 of my hooks on this Erin bra already start to pull themselves out! I have this bra since a 2 weeks! I wore it 4-5 days in a row since I have no other bra that fit me well currently but that should not happen that fast. Also my 34KK - Bravissimo » Darcy Bra (LN260) already has hooks pulled out and I only worn the bra for 3 months. My old 34L - Bravissimo » English Rose (LN357) which I have worn so often for over a year never did that! Ugh quality is declining on Bravissimo it's just sad.
alisa I have had mine since Sep 2017 and although it is one of my more comfortable bras I seldom wear it because of this problem and the excessive wrinkling in the cup that I get . I just realized that some minor stitching on the eyelets to strengthen them might fix this. I will try the repairs for a few days and report back on whether this helps or not.
l454d I took a picture of the issues, does it look like this on your bra too? http://bra.pe/Imro/ also I took another pic of my cup wrinkling, is it that kind of wrinkling on Bottom you get with your Erin bra? http://bra.pe/Imrn/
alisa looking at your new pictures, have you ever worn your bras hooked unevenly, or with an extender hooked unevenly? It looks like the bottom of the band is too short and the top is too long and I wonder if the hooks wouldn’t pull so much if the tension was more even. This band is definitely for a very V shaped torso.
Hi alisa, yes to both the hooks and the wrinkling although my wrinkling seems worse. I get the wrinkling on my Erin only while my LN511 Maisie, LN521 Alice and LN436 Selina, which I believe are from the same cut, don't wrinkle. The wrinkling is not visible under clothing but still... I uploaded a photo of my Erin to my entry for this bra and you can see how the middle row are pulling out.
cupandahalf you are onto to something here! I have not thought about this myself yet. Today when I came home, my Tango 30K already felt unsupportive again and I wanted to get out of it and at the same time wear a bra with a tighter band for more support. I quickly (or not so quickly it is a bit tricky to do) tried what you wrote here about the hooks. The bra felt more supportive when the upper hook was on the tightest position and the lowest on the loosest. I will also try this with the Erin bra and an extender.
l454d do you have the issue with the hooks on the other Bravissimo bras too or only on Erin? I had a Selina bra but there wasn't much wrinkling on Bottom http://bra.pe/IdYd/. But Selina has a different fabric. Also when I was at a 34L I had less issues with bras in general than I have now.
alisa have you observed what the band does (no extender) when you loosen the straps a LOT (like at least 5cm)? I imagine the upper cups may become loose again but I just am curious about how the band will behave.
wendybien I did not try that yet, I loosened the straps a bit so they don't cut in as badly but not very much. I will try this tomorrow and take some pictures in the daylight. Should I try it when wearing the extender or no extender or both?
alisa if you've noticed that it's now too loose with the extender, don't bother with that. I just want to see if it still rides up or not when the straps are much looser. And how the sides of the cup/wing look.
wendybien I'm not sure if the band was really too loose or if too big cups made it feel loose :S The 32 band on this bra is on the smaller side compared to other bras.
alisa, I do not have problems with my Maisie or Alice but I get the feeling the Selina is close to becoming a problem. I have purchased well over a dozen Alana's in the past 5 years alone and while not perfect, I cannot complain about them, especially at their price. You appear to be going down the Ewa Michalak path and I hope you have good luck with them but they are too expensive for me.
wendybien here is how the bra fits with the loose straps: http://bra.pe/Ims6/ more wrinkling, more gaping in the cups and less support and no uplift, boobs just lie in the bra.
Yes, I see, so the band looks like it's not riding up when straps are loose. However it does indicate the cup is actually too big, as can be seen by the fact that the cup suddenly appears SUPER loose on you when you aren't artificially reducing/adjusting by tightening the straps. So I think you are right that your optimal cup volume would be at least 1 cup down in this bra. You could do 34JJ or 32K depending on preference I would think.
l454d I also had many Alana's in the past. It's a decent bra but I don't like the fabric very much and the shape is not the best for me. I still hope I can find a few Bravissimo bras that fit okay, because I also find EM a bit too expensive even more if in the FB size range.
wendybien Thank you, so I have to size down in cups in this bra or in another Bravissimo bra.
Yes, I would suggest that. This one does look like great proportions for you--so if you can, maybe try to stick with this?
Since my old Bravissimo bras felt a bit big in my usual size (34L) and I also lost a few pounds I decided to size down. It was a mistake. I should not have sized down in the band. I cannot fasten it, and with the extender it still feels too tight. The band does only stretch 1 cm wider than my break-the -ape underbust measurement which is about 31 Inch / 79cm. It is also quite a bit smaller and less stretchier than the band of my 32K Panache Tango. (which fits me) So beware and size up in band in this bra, if you are between sizes. ...
The cups are a decent fit as far as I could wear the bra for a few minutes with the extender. The gore lies as flat as possible on my close-set boobs, there is no empty space in the cups. The straps don't fit properly and are not at the right position because of the too small band.
The shape this bra gives me is amazing. It's a front and center shape but not too projected that it feels unsupportive. The shape from the side is very rounded and from the front my boobs are not too "east-west". The cups are deep, average width for the size range and quite tall which helps to keep my big and soft boobs firm to my chest. I really recommended this bra for bigger deep and rather narrow boobs that need lots of support.
The straps are fully adjustable which is a plus. The print … yeah it's a bit darker than I expected from the photo but it's okay I guess. I'd like this bra to come also in solid colors as I prefer it's shape and construction over the Alana.
As this bra does not fit me, I will return this and exchange it for an 34KK.
Have you tried EWa's FB? Can you compare? I"m mostly wearing FBs now and some Tangos
No, I haven't tried them. A few years ago I tried some polish bras but none worked for me. They were too narrow and projected and not enough support. Tango is a great bra but I don't like the wider east-west shape. I think it makes me look a bit bigger in the upper body than the Bravissimo ones.
The FB is a totally different bra. I bought my first one because someone had bought one way too small and she was in a bind, coudlnt afford to return it - i was so shocked. It was the most comfortable bra i'd ever worn. I never needed to adjust it during the day. I bought two more - they arent exactly as perfect but pretty damn close
My shape: Projected, narrow, shorter roots, even/functionally full on bottom, soft tissue. Cleo Lily fits me best.
This bra fits true to size in the "cups", and over a size large in the band (33").
It does give a little lift, but unfortunately it's just not comfortable for me. Because the band is too large, the straps take more weight than they should, and the straps are already too short (not fully adjustable), so they dig in pretty painfully. If the band ran true to size, and the straps were fully adjustable, I think it'd work a lot better for me.
Strap width is .5" at the thinnest and 1.3" at the largest.
I wasn't quite sure how to enter the sizes on the label since the country choices don't match up with Bratabase. The label reads: UK - 30G. US/CA - 30G. DE/ES/IT - 65G. FR - 80G.
I agree that the straps should be adjustable - they're too long for me to give any assistance and you are right about the band fit. Closest I can describe it is those elastic bands at the top of boxer shorts designed for "males". Where they are stretchy but aren't smaller than the size they are meant to fit. I found the fit and support ok for a lounging bra, but it's uncomfortable due to how wide the straps are (I have narrow shoulders) and I don't like those chunky seams on the straps facing the body - they feel inside out! I was also disappointed with the fabric inside - it was scritchy whereas the outside is this gloriously soft fabric which I'd love to have against my skin! All the seams were unfinished inside. It's such a cheap mess of a construction.
I was really excited to try it too!
I'm going to try it on again because I did try it just before my period so that could have had something to do with the comfort issues (the rest being down to hypersensitivity due to my ASD) and the band might be fixable now that I know that narrowing the gore is a viable bra fit alteration for my shape. I feel that just making the band a little smaller in front would help. But that's only if I can deal with the awful lining fabric. Or can wear it inside out!
Forgot to say that it's scritchy in the mesh part at the centre for me and my nipples sit there with the seams going across my areolas so it's probably not an issue for most woman whose nipples seem to have a more east-west thing going on (I'm assuming it's normal since the apex of cups are always very east-west in pretty much every bra I've tried).
Annie- I'm curious since the 38L is still too small in the cup for you, have you considered trying the Alana in a 40L or the Harmony or Melody in 40KK and altering the band? Bravissimo send me a 40K by accident and it made me think of this.
