This bra is extremely pretty and still not too fancy for everyday wear, dressing up or using it casually, your choice. It's suitable for both. Unfortunately it didn't fit me, but this is actually my fault. I didn't know my size and I still struggle to get the right fit when I do bra shopping. I'm sure that if I would've gotten it in the right size it would be super supportive and comfortable. The fabric is really soft but still strong, it gives you a nice round and natural shape. It's not a t-shirt bra but it definitely doesn't show any seams and the embroidery didn't show ...through on a tight top for me. The color did of course, it's a color splash! =)
I would definitely say it's generous in the band. It didn't ride up in the back, it was still a horizontal line across my back but all of my five fingers could fit underneath without having to squeeze them in(very much ''give'' in this band). Oh, and that's on the loosest hook. In the Freya Active underwired bra I can hardly do it up on the loosest hook(to give you a reference) in a 28'' band.
I'm short(5 feet/152 cm tall), even on the shortest length the straps are way too long(it's a half-strap design), I wouldn't even have to ''pick it up'' first to brush it off my shoulder, it sits higher up than my shoulder height to begin with. That wasn't a factor for me to return it(I'm returning it), my mom knows how to sew and she helps me alter this when needed. I just wanted to make shorter ladies aware of that. If you're able to get it in your size and the strap issue isn't an issue to you, I highly recommend it to you if you like the look of this bra =)
To get this bra to work for me I probably would've needed a size 26f, bear in mind, the band of this bra runs big. Read more 228 more words
The band is stretchy! The cups fit perfect though and I feel supported despite the band and this bra's small and delicate appearance. The appearance is really cute and unobtrusive.
I love the way this bra looks. However, I now realise the reason this bra never fit right is because I bought it in a cup too small to begin with so now it truly is too small since I've grown a cup since buying it. I now also realise that the cup on this bra runs a tad small; very much like Bravissimo's Alana. For this bra to fit right I do believe I'd need a 28F. However this is a realisation that comes far too late for exchange/return.
I still wear it for show though, it's too pretty not too. It purple and frilly! I'm not one ...traditionally for frilly girly but I can't resist it in this bra! It gives quite a round profile for being unpadded/not-moulded and the band runs a bit tight but not so tight to size up. I have worn it all day for work when I was smaller with no problems in comfort.
Another mention: the underwire in this bra is a bit flimsy. It keeps shape but it definitely bends a bit easier than my Freya bras. For me with soft tissued/squishy boobs this isn't a problem but I do think a firmer/denser tissued breast might buckle it. Read more 97 more words
I have short roots and normally wear 28DD. The 28E Satine is too big on me, and the 28DD is too small. It cuts in on top and feels too shallow on bottom. This bra has good apex projection but does not allow a lot of fullness anywhere.
Simple balconette style. Fits well in the cup & the weaved ribbon at the top of the cup is extremely pretty. Only minor gripe is that there is some very, very minor wrinkling on one cup that shows through thinner clothes - so as a standard, smallish 28dd (often have trouble fully filling out the very top/bottom of cups) I only just fill this one. The support is very good, band feels like it will stay snug, centre gore firm but comfortable from first wear.
I have the bra in cornflower blue, which is such a lovely colour - hard to find a delicate yet non-pastelly hue (I normally ...go for blacks, neutrals, or bold colours/prints). Having said that, although the embroidery & ribbon are very lovely, this bra is certainly more everyday than special - perhaps it's the softness of the cup but for some reason it reminds me of the non-wired training bras I wore as a teenager. It is however wired and certainly very supportive - Bravissimo do mention the comfort factor on their website description, so I would mainly go for it if that's what you're looking for. The underwire cups my breasts comfortably, and the underwires meet beautifully between my breasts and touch my sternum; gore lies flat. Wires do not poke my sternum or under my arms, and I love the wide underwires. Slight wrinkling on the side of the right cup because of the wider underwires, but nothing major. There used to be wrinkles on the side and bottom of the left cup too, but these have disappeared after a few wears (perhaps because left breast is smaller and hence shallower?)
Back band quite comfortable; does not ride up. Front of the bra does not ride up either.
The cup gapes ever so slightly on my smaller left breast, but fit my larger one nicely. The straight cut of this halfcup style suit the shape of my breasts very well (i.e. wide roots, shallow breasts).
The fabric print and embroidery are beautiful - it's a shame the textured surface shows under shirts.
I love Bravissimo's halfcup bras! This bra fits even better than Tanzania Stripe, because there are no wrinkles along the outer edges of the cups. Lovely embroidery (shows up under tops, but I've recently bought some stretch bandeau tops that help hide it). Cups also have a non-itch lining. Gore lies flat, wires don't poke.
Straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. A teeny bit wideset, like with the Tanzania Stripe, but nothing major.
