This is quite a pretty and comfortable bra. It almost gives me a bullet shape, but it's not super noticeable. The fabric and seams are smoothe. Although I do not quite fill the very top of the cup all the way, the fine mesh lace lies flat under tops which is what is important. I am fuller on bottom and inner breast than top - this bra might work a bit better for more balanced fullness. If you have very shallow on bottom, inner or top this will definitely have fit issues. I like that the wires are wide - good for wide roots.
The band measures large. I have it hooked on the tightest hook. I will be altering the band next time my sewing machine is out.
This is a brand I have not yet tried, but "wide wires" are compelling. :-) Thanks for your review.
Love4Pollinators the wide wire measurements coupled with not overly deep cup measurement in bratabase is why I tried the brand!
Oh wow, how pretty!! And it fits you so perfectly. 5.2" is about average wire width for this size though (even my Cleo bra is about this wide in size 30D). I think you should look at Tutti Rouge (not the Nicole bra, lol). It appears to be an entire inch smaller that your horizontal perimeter, which is odd considering it gives you about full coverage. Did you scoop n swoop?
LeProfessor I think I get more coverage because my breasts aren't super tall and they're very squishy (malleable) nowadays :(
I know how you feel, I get fuller coverage in just about every bra too. I think your like me in that you do have tall roots, but they're very shallow at the top and aren't ever going to be in the cup so they may as well be short roots. It looks like, especially from the side photo, that this bra is borderline too small and that if that neckline of the bra were elasticated , it would be cutting into you. I also wanted to note that if the top of the bra isn't very accommodating of taller roots, than the edge will slide down creating wrinkly lace that won't sit flat. Though sometimes I wish my boobs were more squishy! Makes it easier to fit different styles! ;-) Certainly explains why you can fit into a cup much smaller than your perimeter. Such a gorgeous bra that's gorgeous on you. The color is very flattering on your skin. ^.^
When I've been lactating my I can feel my breasts fill up rather high on the chest, a good 3-4 inches up past the top of this bra, so maybe I do have high, shallow roots. Who knows lol
I should have gotten a 30E. Bravissimo definitely seems to run on the small side. I like that the wires don't come up super high on the sides, which is more comfy for my soft tissue that often gets squished and in the way of my armpits with other bras. This is the only partial-band bra I own; I'm not sure I like this style, as the wires seem to dig in at the bottom more since they're just sitting on skin/fat. The lace at the top feels a little loose; I worry if I go up a size that it'd be too loose. But I feel like I'm spilling out of the 30DD, like if I lean forward, I'm gonna fall out. I do like the rounded shape it gives me.
Nice bra. I wish the wings and band we're taller but that's ok. Wires fit wide enough for my slightly wide roots, without then being too deep at the apex. The cup fabric is not scratchy, but it is firm, seams are strong. This may become more "floppy" with wash/wear.
If you have breasts low set on the rib cage, the straps might not be long enough. I could extend them maybe 2 more inches, but with most bras I have much more room to extend the straps, so these are shorter than average.
The wires look so comfortable for wider roots :-) Cute!
They are. If they can up about 1/4 of an inch on the side I'd like it a little more, but it seems like most bras that have the wires a little higher on the armpit side then have a much taller cup, higher apex and don't fit me. The Wacoal alluring full figure and embrace lace are the exceptions so far but the smallest size is 32D so then I have to shorten the band.
A really pretty bra. Thank you for the review!
Ooh that is cute! If it’s wide then it’s probably not for me though.
I exchanged the 28F I ordered originally for this 30DD because I thought the band was too tight -- not because of my ribcage, but because of the way the tension distorted the very flexible wires and flattened the cups -- and the cups, when relaxed, slightly roomy. On the day I received the bra and fitted it my breasts were slightly on the fuller side though. I will revisit this review in case the fit changes over the next few days.
General comments:
(copied from my original review of the 28F version) I am finding that horizontal cut half cups are best for my shape, so I couldn't resist ...ordering the Mademoiselle. It's a bit too ornamental for my taste, but the subtle colour scheme appealed to me anyway. Also, the idea of possibly getting a complete lingerie set is tickling https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Bra description:
(copied from my original review of the 28F version) I must say, this bra is even prettier in person that it appeared from the online photos: the 'blush' colour is the palest of pinks, which works really beautifully underneath the black lace overlay. On pale complexions it actually appears close to nude. The black lace itself consists of a delicate all-over floral pattern on tulle with a wide, detailed, yet flat embroidery border along the cup edges. Bold, embroidered parallel lines finish off the design. The pattern is perfectly mirrored on both cups, a detail that pleases me greatly (CK Entice, I'm looking at you!). The wings are made of a single layer of black powernet and the edges are finished with decorative elastic. The centre gore is embellished with a fairly large black organza bow, a delicate piece of 'blush' ribon and a small black rose. The strap connections are adorned with a simple 'blush' ribbon bow and small black rose. The straps are fairly wide, fully adjustable and feel lovely and soft. Instead of rings, sliders are used to connect the straps to the wings in the back. All findings are black coated metal. The bra is unlined, unpadded, completely synthetic, and very light weight.
(copied from my original review of the 28F version) One thing one doesn't see mentioned often in a bra description is smell -- this is the first time I myself find it necessary to mention and unfortunately not for positive reasons: the moment I opened the (beautifully wrapped) package a strong 'plasticky' whiff caught my nostrils. Really, this bra smells so strongly of plastic that's it's quite off-putting for me -- I'm terribly sensitive to smells and this one is giving me slight headache. I can only hope it lessens with time.
Bra fit:
Where the 28F seemed to fit when I put in on for the first time, this one obviously doesn't. The centre gore doesn't stay flat -- it hovers about a centimetre away from my sternum. The wires are still too wide though: even though they are decidedly less distorted from the band tension, there's a significant amount of space between my breast root and the wire. I'm suspecting that with narrower wires the cup volume would probably have been just right, but as it is, the whole construction is simply too wide and shallow for my shape.
The band feels very comfortable. It doesn't seem to be riding up at all, which surprises me as stretched it measures about 7 cm more than what I've come to consider ideal. The straps are wide and soft. Despite the ill fit, I must say the whole bra is extremely comfortable. My only gripe comfort-wise is the connection between the straps and the wings: for some reason this point interferes with the movement of my shoulder blades.
Conclusion:
This is an odd bra. It's so comfortable that I'm tempted to exchange it (again) for a 30E, although there are many things I don't like about it:
- it doesn't give the same uplift as I get from Ewa Michalak HM or Masquerade Rhea (but it is still a nice shape and could be considered just a bit more subtle) - the wires are ridiculously flexible and too wide for my shape (but they are hardly noticeable whilst wearing the bra) - the band is looser than what I have become accustomed to (but it doesn't ride up and feels very comfortable) - it's completely synthetic (but to me the materials seem much nicer than the materials used by Curvy Kate and they don't seem to irritate my sensitive skin) - it smells horribly of plastic.
In addition to the fact this bra is crazy comfortable, though, there's also the fact it actually looks really nice AND it comes with a choice of knickers and suspenders ... to exchange, or not to exchange? Read more 679 more words
This bra is an awesome fit for me. It's a plunge, so it works well for my close-set breasts. I'm in the shallow spectrum, and it doesn't give me any issues in that regard. The band is a little stretchy as it stretches to 31" right away, but that works in my favor as I usually prefer 32" bands. It seems very solidly constructed, and the satin fabric gives it a bit of opulence.
This bra is not good if you are shallow or have narrow shoulders. It's a very pretty white bra with yellow detailing and yellow polka dots on the cups. Lovely.
This is a brand I have not yet tried, but "wide wires" are compelling. :-) Thanks for your review.
