I already have this bra in 32J, 32JJ and now in 32K, so it was always with me on my size journey. It's a special bra because it looks like a crop top. I like that about it. There is a regular bra under the top part hidden with wires. The fit on this 32K is spot on for me, the band felt at first a bit snug, but it stretches out quite quickly as I know from experience so I prefer to break it in rather than size up. The cups fit well, they are not too tall or too wide for me. The bra give a forward projected shape ...and keeps your boobs in the contour of your body. I love that about it. It's a very flattering shape, rounded and uplifted. Support is great thanks to a thicker band and 4 hook closure. Straps are half adjustable. The only thing I have to mention, when I first break in a new Arla I get some weird wire pain by the middle of the day at the underwire on the sides. I need to use some braliner for relief. The more I wear my Arla the less painful their are. I think it mights be the rather hard wire + thick band + tight fit causing this? Read more 108 more words
Bravissimo Millie has been around for years and it came in a bazillion colours. I tried it a while back in HH - J cup range and found it shallow, wide and kinda flimsy and unsupportive. So when I was recently talking to Bravissimo customer service they talked me into giving it a try again in my current 32K cup size. They said it's a really good bra in large cup sizes. What made me do it, was that the new "pink" colour way has the new more narrow wires which work generally better for me and that it was pink. I want a pink bra for years but ...cannot find any in my size range that works for me! Speaking of, I would not call this colour pink, maybe coral pink but it's actually neon coral, the same colour as 32J - Bravissimo » Dina Bra (LN578) which was called coral back in the day.
My shape: narrow / medium root, center full projected, full on top.
So about the bra - it's just not for me even with the new wire. The bra is still rather wide and shallow and the cups come up very high and bother me under my arms. I have trouble to adjust the bra and have it stay in place. The wire wants to slide down as there is not enough projection at the wire. there is some empty fabric on the side because the wire is too wide. Also the bra just doesn't feel supportive enough. I only judge it from like 30min trial wear. There is just too much stretch everywhere. I feel like I want to wear the band on tightest setting - despite it not being much bigger than my other bras. Straps are very stretchy and cut into my shoulder. The top section of the cups is also very stretchy which is apparently good for FOT but I feel I have to constantly adjust my boobs and the cups are being pushed down... What is also weird is that the bra gives a slight east-west shape, which I dislike. It's just weird but I guess these very stretchy bras are just not for me. My boobs are too heavy for that, they need non - stretch material for optimal support. So sadly the new improved Millie is still a no go for me. Read more 285 more words
Bummed for you it didn’t work. That color is amazeballs!
Happy2BraShop finally a pretty colour in large sizes! there has been a trend for neutrals lately and I really missed colourful bras! That's why I gave it another chance.
Just got this bra among a few others from Bravissimo. I thought the light beige colour could make a great t-shirt bra for me. I actually really like the colour and say it's even a geat colour as a nude bra if you are paler than me.
The Lola bra is for everyone who loves a very uplifted green shape (referring to the famous BrasIhate blog post) and really don't have a problem with a very retro look aka pointy boobs. Everyone else, avoid it.
I don't mind the green shape if it's rounded enough to not look like you wanna poke someone. ( For example in Ewa Michalak ...BM bras) It's not the case with this. It's so pointy, I feel uncomfortable with it. So about the fit, it's what you'd expect from Balconette in that size range, typical to other Bravissimo bras. The cup edge are very tight and cut in, so it's not FOT friendly. The wires kinda wide and I have slight wrinkling on sides. Straps are kinda seperate but I've had worse, cup height on the side is also bearable. Quality seems nice, fabric is soft.
This bra is apparently based on the Candy Bliss (CB). Now I had CB and the shape as never like this. Marguerite by Bravissimo has the same cut. Marguerite and Lola are discontinued, so grab them now or if you are like me who dislikes them, good riddance. Read more 128 more words
Hmm, the pointy retro look..I've yet to try a bra like this. In my country (well, I've lived in both Canada and US) the pointy retro bra is not common - mostly we have the molded cup/perfectly rounded/Barbie-Doll-shaped-boobs look from Victoria's Secret.
I discovered BrasIHate recently, but another cool bra blog I learned of recently "Hugs for Your Jugs," lots of good info on there.
I too am not a fan of the pointy retro look but it happens to me a lot with unlined three part bras that aren’t Polish :/
Is it just me or is one cup more round and less pointy than the other? Seems like a weird quality control issue unless it’s just my (poor) vision.
pretty_promise , I didn't really notice. Most people have a larger breast on the left side, I read.
BraOdyssey on the left? How fascinating! Where did you read that? Now I’m all curious to know if they know WHY it’s that side.
alisa i too dislike the pointy retro look for my bras, and I see what you mean about this one, very very pointy.
dagmarwulfe , I can't remember where I read it! Lol. I just remember it b/c my left side is slightly larger!
dagmarwulfe , I just googled it and it came up on this "Everyday Health" facts about breasts, number 2.
dagmarwulfe BraOdyssey I've seen it floating around the Internet without any real solid scientific sources that it's because the left breast is closer to the heart. Something about blood flow, but I'm not sure how true it is.
Guys, I added a "scary underneath" picture (which was invented by dbmamaz and adapted by many users here) to clear up the confusion. Yes both boobs are very pointy in this bra. It's the bra not the boobs :P It just has this cut, kinda like pyramid where there is an apex very high set in the bra. I think it should make your boobs look perky. For me that is too perky.
I prefer the purple shape over the green shape. I find it more flattering on me. Since I already have big boobs I don't want them to stick out even more, rather prefer close to chest round shape.
Holy heck, you’re right that bra is super pointy lol! It must’ve been an optical illusion/the angle on the other picture you uploaded, it kinda hid how pointy one side was.
Honestly that is probably the pointiest bra I’ve ever seen, not gonna lie!
It gives pyramid boob. Also the most elfshoe looking bra I ever saw. I did not expect that. I tried some elfshoe bras by Bravissimo but this tops them!
LOL I was so confused trying ot figure out why I was tagged! that is a really pointy bra
The Mabel is a new style by Bravissimo I was very curious about. It got very good reviews and it's apprently a bra with the stretchy top section but it's not thin lace. I got my current usual size of 32K. The Mabel has new wires from J-cup upward which are supposed to be more narrow.
The fit: Bra was too large in the top section for me, there was slight gaping. Also the cups came up too high under my arm. Apart from that the bra felt supportive and good quality, so I decided to exchange it for a 32JJ. I recommend if you are above a J-cup to size down in cup in this.
Hmm, interesting. almost looks like athleisure. (or athleisure inspired!) Not flowery/lacey.
side story: my sister is a physiotherapist (or "physical therapist" for USA) and only wears athleisure: for work, home, etc. I asked her, "What would you do if athleisure wasn't in style?" She said, "I would still wear it." Lol. #ComfortFirst
BraOdyssey when I unpacked it, my first thought was: did they send me a wired sports bra here? Definitely the same fabric. But I think it's not a bad idea as it makes for a supportive reliable everyday bra very likely to support well in large cup sizes. Some bras with stretchy lace I struggle with bc the lace is just too soft to hold in my boobs.
This bra has an almost 5 - star rating from 478 reviews (as of June 2021) on the Bravissimo website. When I ordered some bras recently, I thought, why not throw this in and see what all the hype is about. Unfortunately the bra did not work for me at all.
The material feels sturdy and strong, it looks like a good quality construction. The fit was really bad on me. My first impression was that the bra just looked really bulky, but that could also be because of the size. It was not easy to put on, not because I couldn't handle the closure (you need to ...try a few times but I think if you can close your regular bras on the back, you can manage this too?) but it just would not sit properly on my boobs. Swoop and scoop would not work to get the wrinkling on bottom, side and top away. I just could not get the wires to sit where they should. It doesn't look half as bad on my pics but it felt not nice to put on.
Also have to mention that I only can close the band with an extender. It is very firm, so keep that in mind and size up 1 band size. The cups do run quite large in my opinion. This 32K has the "new wires from J-cup up" which are apperently more narrow and provide better fit in large cups according to Bravissimo. I did not notice any of that, as they were kinda wide still. Apart from the more generous cup sizing, I still could not get my boobs to sit properly in these cups so I assume the shape is all wrong or maybe they are too shallow on bottom? I really don't know. Or the bra is just too large in cups / small in band. I fear that the neck closure could add pressure to that area when worn during a full day and cause neck pain. Also I don't find that the back view looks that pretty on me. Read more 239 more words
I almost did not give this bra a proper chance because I did not like it's print. At first I thought it's slightly too large because I had some gaping on top. The bra also looked a bit pointy. Both is now gone with my PMS boobs. So the perfect PMS bra for me? I really can't stand too much pressure on my boobs during that time, so thise bra is roomy and projected in top and bottom. The shape is very forward facing, uplifted and centered. It's a real confidence boost as it gives a slimming look from the front. However from the side, the boobs are ...quite round and projected, they stick out more than in other more "shallow" bras. I would say it's a green shape (check out brasIhate blog post) but it's rounded enough to not be elf-shoe.
The fabric is nice a bit thicker but not bulky, The lace has no stretch. The bra is very open on top, so do size down 1 cup like they recommend on the Bravissimo page. I also say it's fot friendly. I usually have quadboob in most of my 32K Bravissimo bras so I say this clearly runs big. The wires above J- cup are different. I don't notice that much, but I think it's the overall more projected centered shape they give instead of the more east - west shape of older bras. The band has normal stretch, it's tts for 32 and a good fit. Straps are thick and not too stretchy. I have sligh issue with them being a bit too wide - set and the cup fabric on the side comes a bit too high but it's bearable. I think this bra is as good as it gets? I certainly have seen far worse. The Annie bra is a balconette and similar in cut to my beloved 32K - Bravissimo » Penny Bra (LN449) . Too bad the fit isn't as good on this one. The bra is very projected and has lots of room in the upper cup. Since I am FOT I did not size down in this bra like it was recommended on the website. Turns out this was a mistake. There was lots of wrinkling on top and on bottom of the cup. I could barely adjust my boobs properly in this bra.
I really like the colour and the star pattern and would have exchanged ...for the 32JJ if it weren't for the horrible stetchy thin flimsy straps. These straps were just awful and folded immediately after putting the bra on. You could see on my photo. Also I found the straps a bit too seperate and too much in my armpit. The cups came up very high under my arms too. I am sure the dimensions of the 32JJ would be much better for me but I am sure I also dislike the straps. The Penny does have thicker and better straps btw. Read more 87 more words
Oh it’s such a lovely pattern! Would sizing down take some stress off the straps, so they don’t fold? It always feels like a little heartbreak when such a pretty patterned bra doesn’t fit the way you want it to.
But the pattern is so pretty, thank you for the review!
There are a lot of complaints in the reviews on the Bravissimo page about the straps of this bra. There are like 6-7 at least in the first 5 pages. All are GG + mostly J - K cup. So I assume the straps might are less of an issue in much a smaller size - but I am nowhere near at such a small size. In the past the bras above GG had different thicker straps but with everyone complaining about thick straps they changed that which now makes the bra not so good in these sizes.
Bravissimo has just released a new bra named Delilah that appears to have the exact same straps and hardware. Perhaps the designer did not see the feedback on the Annie in time to take that into consideration. Otoh, maybe they sell twice as many bras below GG+ where the folding strap is not an issue and are not concerned enough about the straps on the larger cup sizes
Alana21 I thought about adding Delilah to my order but decided against it just because the straps looked so similar to the Annie straps! They are even the same colour, a colour which in my opinion doesn't match Delilahs pattern so well, a light blue would have been prettier imo. I think they got the feed back, it's several review on Annie and also on Gemma now about the straps. I wonder what their selling patterns are. Because the GG and below crowd can also buy elsewhere while in our size range we are quite limited. Maybe a good mix or both?
alisa , Delilah has a similar color profile as the Freya Offbeat duck egg and I suspect Freya sold a lot of those. I think it might take 2-3 months (or more) for a bra design to become a final product and so those reviews might have been too late. I may still give Delilah a try though. Or not.
Selina was one of the staples from Bravissimo. It looks like it gets discontinued finally in 2021 as all colours are on sale now. I have this in the long- gone star print, thought I review it before the bra is completely gone - so you can grab one if you are interested.
So this is one of the better bras from Bravissimo imo for large cups. The fabric is smooth and there is no embroiderie (remember 4 years ago when Selina launched almost all Bravissimo bras hat embroiderie) so it's almost smooth enough to function as a T-shirt bra. I say almost, depending on how thin your t-shirt is, ...the seams could show. It also feels sturdy and decent quality.
Moving on to the fit. my shape: narrow - medium wide tall root, full on top, center heavy and projected. The bra is more open than most balconettes by Bravissimo (Melrose, Alana etc) there is no cutting in. Wires are medium wide, sturdy and tall. I think they are what you can expect in this size, nothing too wide or tall. Cups are quite shallow. So this causes issues for me, which is mostly that the gore just won't tack. It never did in any size I tried in this bra. Even when I had an obviously too large size. (gonna review 32KK too) The bra is despite that still supportive. It also gives a nice round uplifted shape.
The only problem aside from the gore I had was that the bra can start to hurt me after longer time of wear. It doesn't always happen, some days I'm fine with it on other days I have to remove it mid-day- I think the wire gets pushed down a bit since it's too shallow in center and bottom for me which causes pain. So it's not quite 100% for me and I would not repurchase but it will stay in my rotation. Read more 211 more words
I love this print so much but I have doubts about this style and my shape!
confused It's a tricky bra to fit in my size range, don't know how it would be in your size range. The print is cute and quite unique as there is not as many star prints out there. I think Cleo had some back in the day. and new Annie by Bravissimo has stars too.
This is an Okay bra. It's not my favorite to reach for, but I am glad to have it, when other (nicer ) bras are in the laundry. Size wise this bra is old Bravissimo sizing, it has been discontinued but you can find some left online for discount prices. The band is firm and true to size. The wires are average width and height. I get some slight cutting in on top, because this cup shape is rather closed on top which is going against my FOT shape. So this style is more suited to FOB shapes.
The cups have a somewhat pointy shape but it isn't as ...bad as on 30K - Bravissimo » Marguerite Bra (LN205) or 32K - Bravissimo » Lola Bra (LN497). The Zoe does belong to this pointy family but it's more moderate. The shape is forward projected and uplifted. The bra feels sturdy and supportive all day. My biggest issue aside from the shape preference (I prefer a more round shape) is that the underwire starts to hurt me at the side if I wear it more than a few hours. So it's not a full day bra for me sadly. I can help it by putting some cotton pads under the wire. I don't really know why it does that - maybe a shape issue? Because apart from that the bra seems to fit. Read more 127 more words
you should make a list of what are your favourite bras! Fun project? and post it on the adventures...
BraOdyssey thats a cool idea! Just changes all the time like my size ... loosing just a tiny bit of weight bras that worked stop working same when I gain... so I need one list for each size I guess :S
I'm in between sizes in Lacey currently. I have many reviews up on different sizes of Lacey so will keep it short here. This is the 32K which has an extra lining so the top section is not stretchy. The band fits fine and the cups are bit roomy in the upper cup but since they are quite shallow, the gore doesn't tack. I am between sizes as the 32JJ is currently a tiny bit small. Lacey is a staple in my collection, it is an easy to fit in bra if you are full on top with tall roots but a bit tricky if you need lots of projection because the cups are a bit shallow. It feels supportive for full-day wear. Will update this review when I wear this bra more, as I currently only wear it on PMS.
The Georgia is discontinued now. Apparently it's similar to Bravissimo Selina, but I find the Selina to be a bit more open on top. I struggled with this Georgia bra, the cup edge would cut in. Apart from that it's quite decent on me. I put it away for when I loose a bit of weight.
In the mean time I received two 32KK bras that cause lot's of other issues so I went back to my 32Ks. So I found a way to make this bra work: I added an extender on the inner most row of hooks and close it that way - so the extender only adds ...like 1 cm over extra band, but that gives me the space I need in the top of the cups. The cutting in is suddenly gone! Sometimes bra issues are caused by such tiny details.
On the other side I did not find the band to be too large, so I won't be able to go "larger" with the extender or loose support. Fabric is actually quite nice, it feels soft and it's on the thinner side but not flimsy. The shape I get is round and centered. The bra is supportive and the wires are average width and the gore is a bit lower compared to other bras in the size range. Read more 112 more words
Great creative problem-solving! I'm learning so so much about my own shape and how to trouble-shoot bras from reading your experiences! Namely, not to be so rigid in my thinking of fit/doesn't fit. Good for you!
The problem solving helped for 1 day and on another day I had to remove the quickly because it felt not supportive enough.
Fleur really impressed me. Very comfortable materials, wide straps and overall it is very supportive. I love how Bravissimo bras are really built to carry a 30JJ/K bust, when Freyas are not.
I followed Raspberryleafs advice and got it 1 band size + 1 cupsize bigger than Alana.
I was so glad I got up 1 band size! At first I could barely fasten the 32 band! It’s the tightest band I ever had on a 32 bra.
So I would really advice to size up 1 band size in this bra or if you are between sizes, go with your bigger size.
However sizing up in the cups ...was not a good idea. They are too big on me. If I thighten the straps all the way I can get a decent fit. But there is still some slight gaping on top. Also I’m not impressed by the shape it gives me. But this might be because it’s too big and it would give me a better shape in the right size.
The wires were really narrow for a bra in that size. I normally wear 30JJ and the wires of the 32K Fleur were not even too wide for me. I needed the wire width of the K-Cup. Also the wires did not poke me under the arms.
Quality: 4.5 (I don't keep it so I can't say how the quality is after wearing it for some time. Just from the looks I would say good quality.) Comfort: 4.5 I can't say anything negative about this. The material feels good against the skin. Apperance: 4 The colors even brighter than on the pictures. I personally do like fuchsia /magenta and teal color, however seeing the bra in real, the combination of teal and magenta a bit too much coloring for me. But it's just a question of taste.
Overall: 4 / 5 hearts: If you can get this bra in the right size, it's really a good bra for everyday wear. Supportive & comfy. however I was not keen on the shape it gave me. And it's quite high coverage, if you don't like this, avoid it. In bigger cup sizes the upper section of the cups is huge, so it wont look quite as good as on the Bravissimo model.
The Ada is full cup bra, with the usual 4 part cup construction with side support. Both the lace and the lining in the top section of the cups are stretchy. Also the band is very stretchy, it was the most stretchy band out of all the Bravissimo bras I've tried. The bra was a decent fit but I did not like the look of it and the shape it gives me. It gives a quite east-west not very uplifted shape that reminded me of Panache Tango and Bravissimo Melrose. I also noticed that the lower section of the bra cup doesn't come up as high and the ...upper section is larger a feautre it shares with Tango and Melrose. I usually prefer a more uplifted look like 32JJ - Bravissimo » Lacey Bra (LN486) or 32JJ - Bravissimo » Dina Bra (LN578) gives, both bras have shorter top sections and larger lower sections than the Ada. I did not really like the color, it was a dusty pink that looked a bit too much like flesh color. The fabric felt a bit cheap, it's fabric is comparable to Bravissimos cheaper options like Alana. The wires on the bra seem to do the same than the Rococo (http://bra.pe/SdG/) Did you feel the cups to run too wide under your arms?
Hi Jj, thanks for your comment. Interestingly, even though the wires were wide, they did not feel so bad and you can see the great shape and lift I got with this bra. The cups must have been deeper at the front, which is where I need the depth.
The Melrose bra was never one of my faves but I had a few over the years as I could get a hold of them pre-loved for very low prices. This bra was in a bra bundle with some other 32K Bravissimo bras. I thought it will be my least fave but it's actually very supportive.
my shape: full on top 3/5, center full, tall and average wide roots
The band feels a bit tight. I have to break it in with an extender. The cups are decent fit on bottom as I have barely any wrinkling. The top section however is not so great on my boobs. This bra ...has a large top section and a low apex. It's best suited to fob shapes. So naturally it doesn't do so well on my fot shape, It does flatten my upper boob and gives a slightly downward pointy shape.
I really dislike this kind of shape. It's a shape that full on top boobs get in full cup bras that are not built for this shape. I actually was so upset I did not want to wear it again and sell it right away. Then on another day where almost all of my other bras failed I put this one on again. What is positive about the bra is it's sturdiness and the good support it gives. I think I will keep this bra and wear it when I'm home around the house under a loose sweater or so. For that it will be okay as there are not too many other fit issues despite the sad shape it gives. Read more 159 more words
Ooh yeah that shape, I’m not a fan either! I end up with it in bras that are too shallow and I sized up for depth but especially with short roots there’s just no oomph up top! But for house bras I’ll settle too ;)
The Sadie is a 3 part cup true balconette style. Very shallow at the bottom and sides and very very roomy on top. The bra does not have a full band. I never got along with these types of bras in the past. I'm not sure why but I guess it's that they are just very shallow at the bottom of the cups and I need room there. There is barely any room in the lower cup, I couldn't fill it. The bra is made in a traditional 3 part cup construction, a true balconette style. Very shallow at the bottom and sides and very very roomy on ...top.
The shape is very projected and uplifted, this is due to that the lower section of the cups is really tall, the tallest I've seen on my all my Bravissimo bras yet and that helps lifting up the boobs very much. Also I think that the lower section has to be this tall so that the bra is still supportive despite the thin stretchy lace in the upper cup that doesn't do much.
Talking of the lacy top section, the lace is stretchy, there is no lining (yes in all sizes up to K-cup) but there is this annoying plastic band at the edge of the cups that just cuts in unflatteringly. Oh btw it's nothing like the Jasmine, feels much more sturdy and supportive!
So the 32K was a decent fit at the time, band felt tight, cups had the right volume but the shape was not good for me. Also it did not feel comfortable, looking at how the straps cut into my arms. Read more 167 more words
Wow that is really shallow! I haaaate the elastic strips on cups. They just cut into my soft tissue. Love the red on you. I still really like the look of Sadie. I have an affinity with the name, too.
I wonder if the shallowness is common on all bras with no full band? I usually avoid them so I don't have much experience with them. I wonder if it was intentional I mean that they made it so it gives maximum uplift by pushing the boobs into the upper section of the cups? Because on the Panache Jasmine the lower section of the cups did not do much to keep my boobs close to chest and supported and I don't want to talk about that flimsy lace on top. Jasmine is basicaly wires and straps torturing me but no decent support. Sadie is better in that so I guess it was intentionall so the bra is more supportive than other similar styles.
The elastic strip did cut in badly it doesn't even show as much on the pics but I hated how it looked.
An exceptionally sturdy tankini, I would purchase again except that it is discontinued and I am going to try a swimsuit next time because I am wary of tankinis rolling up. It has sturdy wide straps and lots of support, it feels like it is double lined.
Ah it looks very different from the 36K - Curvy Kate » Luau Love Tankini (CS1906) I got where the bra is hidden underneath the actual tankini. This is more like a bikini bra with fabric sewn to it to cover like a tankini...But it looks good. I doubt that Bravissimo does more than 1-2 cuts for swimwear, seeing at how lazy they are with bras. So you could be lucky to get a similar one still.
Yeah people say that helps the tankini fabric from floating above your bra. I did try a different swimsuit last year but it was too baggy in the body and the straps were thin and stretchy and the cups were strechier so I think materials and slight variances in design change the support a lot. I ordered Moonflower to test and a Bravissimo swimsuit so we'll see.
Not the most pretty looking bra but does the job, I still get sore underneath the front of me when I've worn bra for 10+ hours but having the weight to carry around I kind of get that any bra I own will leave marks and hurt to a degree after 10+ hours of ware each day. Was tight when first brought but stretches quite quickly, I've worn the same style of bra for the last year and a half, I've only ever shopped at bravissimo and none of their other bras seem to 'fit'
Ooh that’s a pretty bra! (Scampers off to search for it.)
