Apollo Sports bra is a new bra but based of the pattern of Bravissimo Inspire sports bra. The Apollo has now a racerback function and cup sizes J + have improved narrower wires.
I really like this bra, it's even nicer than on the photo because there it looks like navy and orange while in real life it's navy & pink a color combo I love. The bra feels comfortable as far as I can tell after trying it on briefly.I noticed the difference in wires, this has more narrow wires and the cups are deeper. The gore tacks in this bra while in the old sports bra in ...the same size it never did.
The band runs very tight, while I usually wear a 32 band I had to size up in this. I also size up 1 cup in sports bra. The straps are thick and padded, they feel very nice. But because of that they are not fully adjustable. If I don't use the racerback option the straps are just a bit too long for me. If I use the racerback option then they feel too tight. I prefer to wear the straps the regular way, as the racerback gives me too much pressure on my neck. When I first tried it on I had almost a little room in the top of the cup, it comes up bit higher than the old sports bra. I really like this improved bra and wish it works for me. The Melrose bra has been around for years. It is what I call the "old bravissimo full cup shape". It is different to their newer full cup shape on bras like Darcy, Selina or Urban Rose. The old Bravissimo full cup shape, features cups that are very tall and very deep at the bottom, then they are very projected which can often end in a pointy shape. (Bravissimo Dotty Spot was the worst offender with it's pointy shape)
The top section of the cups is very closed and will not allow for any full on top tissue in the correct size. It will push down your boobs or ...cut in, if any boob escapes these tall cups. The top section of the bra takes over half of the cups in a size 34K and looks nothing like on the store pictures where the lower section looks bigger than the top section. It does not look very flattering on.
The positives:
The quality is really good. The fabric is sturdy and also soft-feeling. Nothing compared to that cheap slightly scratchy Alana fabric. The upper section is a lace fabric with zero stretch that is lined with another fabric with zero stretch. I could do without those scalloped edges at the band and under the arms, it can rub on skin while wearing making the bra uncomfortable. The band is firm and the shoulder straps are fully adjustable.
How it fit me/ the problems:
The cup of this 34K is really tall, even though I have tall boobs, it is too much. The wires are slightly too wide at the sides, they are very tall under the arms but gladly don't poke. The gore is very tall too, but lies flat and seperates the breasts. The cups are also slightly too big. That's why I don't get that extremely pointy shape or the cutting in. The bra does not look too big on the pictures, but I have adjusted the straps very short to get rid of wrinkling. I could even fit some extra paper tissues into these cups.
The band fits well. I think that if I tried this bra in a 34JJ, I could have the top section pushing my boobs flat. I don't know if there would be quadboob since I cannot imagine any tissue escaping these cups? I just imagine the bra being uncomfortable and giving a downward pointy - flattened on top shape. What I have to say: this bra has lots of room and lots of projection in the bottom of the cups! I don't get any wrinkling at all at the underwire.
The bra does feel supportive but I feel that size is not quite right. I don't think my boobs get the proper support in these cups, because the wires are too wide and the wrinkling on top. I think the bra would be very supportive in the right size but would not give a very much uplifted and round shape. I think the best shape to fit this bra would be: tall boobs but very full on bottom. Also wider shoulders would help too, because I found the straps too seperated and they cut into my arms. I just received this bra today. I decided to go with a Georgia full cup since it has the same shape as Selina and Darcy but was on sale. Bravissimo recommended the 34K to me, after I told them that I have some wrinkling in my 34KK Darcy. When I took the bra out of the package I noticed that it appeared somewhat flimsy. It does look lightweight and not sturdy at all like on the Bravissimo pictures.
When I tried it on... what I expected: perfect fit, like my 34L Bravissimo bras with similar shape used to fit. What I got: a somewhat really weird ...fit. I don't know is it too big or a weird shaped bra???
The issues:
There is very slight wrinkling at the top of the cups. It is very minor but it feels like I would have some extra room there, if my boobs were even fuller on top. A good thing for full on top shape.
The cups are very deep and projected, I get to fill the bottom of the cups quite well. On the side I have some empty fabric, as the wires are about 1-2cm too wide (this is standard for me in every bra so if everything else would be ok, I would not mind...). The cups are really really tall. They come up really high under my arms. No way some underarm fat can escape these roomy cups.
At first I only moderately adjusted the straps but when I saw the wrinkling, I adjusted them as short as possible. I still think, I could make them a tiny bit shorter if it was possible. I posted 2 pics where I hold up the straps some more, it would make the shape from the side better and get rid of wrinkling. The lace at the edge of the cups is stretchy. The top section of the cups is a flimsy stretchy fabric but has a non-stretchy lining for stability.
I find the band quite stretchy for a bravissimo bra, not up their usual very firm bands that I know from Darcy, Selina, English Rose and Urban Rose. When I shorten the straps to the maximum I feel like the band rides up. I know it does not really but it feels like it would during longer wear. The band is not really too big tough. Probably it feels big because the cups are too big. Also I find the shape quite pointy from the side. It is not too visible in the Pictures but compared to my Tango or Ariza it is more pointy.
I only wore the bra for 10 mins since I most likely have to return it, but I kinda have the concern that the bra could become unsupportive over the day and I get neck pain from pull on the tight shoulderstraps. Also the gore could get uncomfortable as it would dig into my boobs.
Another issue I have is that the wires at the gore Always fold over each other no matter how I adjust my boobs in this bra. I don't know why that happens. I don't think that there is not enough center projection. I find the cups deep, wide and tall usually this is what I need in a bra (although I need more tall and deep than wide cups). brasaremean yess it's such a pretty Color! I was happy to find a pretty Color left as this years new bras are mostly black or dark colors which I don't prefer. It might work better in your size, I don't say it's a bad bra.

Sovavosi yes it has super tall cups. I'm confused as I used to get a good fit in similar shaped bras from Bravissimo. Maybe there is a reason this model is discontinued and sale and Selina is still around. Maybe they had many returns.
If only I had ordered 34JJ too, I be curious if it's solved by a smaller size… but I never thought that 34K would be too big.

I returned it, it was an odd fit. I also won't get another, I found the material was not very good. I think the wrinkling at the center could also have been because of that flimsy fabric? I don't get this Kind of wrinkling in 34K - Bravissimo » Melrose Bra (SB25) or 32KK - Bravissimo » Erin Bra (LN441).
Sorry it didn't work out for you, but I think it was a wise decision to pass on this one as well, given the dissatisfaction with the materials.
alisa, you describe the material as being flimsy and lightweight. A buyers comment on this bra on the Bravissimo website indicated the same feeling while another felt it was more like bikini material yet the stock images and your own pictures suggest to me the material might be similar to the Selina. I really like the look of the new Georgia Mint colourway Bravissimo has but your review has me questioning whether I should get this or not. You mentioned the band is stretchy compared to the Selina but how about the cups?
l454d Hm... it's not the same weight of material than Selina or Erin, it's thinner. Like on Alana, but less scatchy fabric than Alana. Georgia cup is soft material but thin mesh like Alana, it's double lined in big cups. I don't think it's similar to Bikini material, but it looks a bit because it's more shiny than Alana fabric.
I don't think it's a bad bra, I don't want it to come over like that. Also the bra did not fit me properly so it was already a dissapointment. In the right size I probably would get less wrinkling. The band also could have felt too big because the cups were too big and I adjusted the straps so tight they pulled the band up in the back? But I found Georgia bra more stretchy because it's just a mesh stretch band like on Alana and not covered in lace like on Erin. No stretch in Georgia cups. I hope I made sense.
The cut of this bra is old-school Bravissimo at it's worst. It's like everything I don't want or need in large cup sizes. But lets start on a positive note with the appearance, the bra has a nice smooth fabric, the colour is a very pale light blue. The straps and the embroiderie are in a very bright neon pink, it's even brighter in person than in the pictures. I find it a bit too loud compared to the pale blue. A regular bright pink would have done the job. The cactus embroiderie is very cute.
The sizing: The band runs on the smaller side so I sized up ...to a 34 band. The reviews said the cups run small so I sized up one size too. So this is the advice I give on sizing, size up in band and if you have full on top boobs also size up in cups. This is also the advice I give for all old-school Bravissimo bras!
Anyway lets move on the issues. The cups are rather shallow and wide. I get some wrinkling on bottom. The fancy gore is a very nice idea in theory but just doesn't lie flat on me. I have very narrow set boobs and this type of gore is just too wide and the wires just lie on top of each other. The bra has very wide and tall wires. And it's worst offense: the fabric under the arms comes up so high I it constantly stabs me in the arm pits. Also the strap position does not help, because the straps cut into my arms too. I had this issue with many older Bravissimo bras - and that they run small in cups did not help because you had to size up and that made it even worse. The Luxe Heart is an older style that has been discontinued long ago and I got this bra in an exchange from another user here on Bratabase. It is based on the same balconette cut like Bravissimo Alana. In the Alana and it's related models I always had to size up at least 1-2 cup sizes compared to my UK size at a time. It also has not so much room in the upper cup. The upper part of the bra has additional lining in black so it looks nothing like the stock photo in large cups. (Meh It's always the same...)
The bra is definetly one of ...the most wearable bras I got lately. The cups have no gaping on top and almost no wrinkling on bottom. I say that cup depth here is right for me. The wires are a bit too wide for me like on all UK brands. What is interesting is that the wires are lower on the sides in this bra than for example in the same size on my 34K - Bravissimo » Georgia Bra (LN563). Also the cup on the Georgia bra is much taller than on Luxe Heart. Georgia is listed as full cup and Luxe Heart / Alana etc. are balconnetes. Since the cups are less tall and the wings are lower I don't get the cutting into the arms effect as much on this bra. I still think the straps are a bit too separate on this but it's not such a big issue. The shape under a top is very nice rounded from the side and not too east-west from the front. (far better than Panache Tango!)
I wore the bra for a full day and felt good in it. Then on the next day I wanted to wear it again (note that I have barely any bra that fits properly at the moment) and it felt less supportive and I felt that I need a tighter band. So I forced myself to wear Melrose and Tango in between since I know you should not wear your bra 2 days in a row. When I wore it again, I had to close it on the second set of hooks already to get enough support from the band. I felt pressure on the straps (red marks) and that it got less supportive over the day. wendybien Yes it does :) At least it is wearable until I have something better. The style is discontinued so I cannot get another size in this but I have a huge order of Bravissimo bras in several styles and sizes on it's way to me. I also put some 32Ks in there and only ordered 34JJ if there were complaints about awfully tight bands in the reviews. :) I also now think I should go for 32 bands and break them in with an extender if necessary.
The band started to ride up and I had some gaping of the cups on the end of the day. Also neck pain… :( looks like I'd be better in 32K for sure...
Yep, I think so. Don't forget also that in a 32 AND better-dimensioned cup you will not need to tighten strap as much so the band will sit lower, where you are smaller, and even if it's a bit tight it will tend to creep down instead of up.
So I have tried Bravissimo Inspire sports in 2020 in 3 different sizes and different prints. I had two 34JJs which did not fit the same. So just getting this out there, the different colorways can run differently. I tried 34J, 34JJ and 34K. None of them is really "it".
What I can say about all of them is that the band runs tight! Size up 1 band size! I have no issues wearing 34 band in these but wear 32 bands usually. Also size up in the cups! Actually I think I could even go as large as 34KK in this as it is kinda shallow!
I tried to break ...it in by wearing it a full day just to do daily errands. Totally does it's job of keeping my boobs up and out of the way. So yes it's supportive. Would I do intense exersice in it? Not sure, maybe only lighter like hiking, biking or the likes. Is it comfortable? Not really. The cups are like I said kinda shallow. Which makes sense since you want to minimize movement and keep your boobs close to chest for exercise. But it also makes it feel a bit constricting. The top part of the cups is very close, which is good so no breast tissue escapes but also feels constricting on my FOT boobs.
Wires are kinda wide in this size but also were in the smaller sizes I tried. I think on this kind of bra it's ok, the wires did not bother me under my arm. The gore is suepr tall and it floats away as the center part of the cups has barely any room. The bra really wants to seperate but it cannot do it since my boobs are too full and projected for this bra. So honestly I'm always happy to remove it. I probably only wear this if I really need to wear a sports bra, not for everyday wear. I usually wear 32JJ in Elomi and 32JJ-K in Bravissimo depending on bra. Also in some styles I'm between band sizes if the bands run firm and prefer a 34 band. So I thought to give this bargain bra from Ebay a chance. It's old school wide tall wire Bravissimo cut. It's the tallest wire I ever had in a Bravissimo bra that wasn't a much too large size. This isn't much too big in cups, it kinda fits! But the wires poke me under the arms, the gore comes ...up uncomfortably high and the wires are too wide for me.
Shape - wise it's a really weird thing going on- on the side shot my boobs look really flattened! (Compare to any other of my bra pics!) It looks like I have super shallow boobs, but I don't. This bra has like zero projection, the cup is quite shallow (reminds me of CK Victory bra ) and flattens my boobs. So usually in a shallow bra like this I'd get quadboob / gore floating and empty space on bottom all signs of not enough depth in cup. In this bra nothing like that happens. I sized up enough in this bra so it is tall enough in wide and fabric to cover my boobs. So a bra that is a complete wrong shape can look like it works if you size up enough! So yeah first off the bra is much too big for me. However if I would have got a 34JJ or J, I'm not sure I'd have enough projection to fit into it.
Anyway.
I don't like this bra. I don't like meshy bras very much, they are often stiff and scratchy. This is that. The extra lined seam around the inside of the band doesn't help because it's not soft either. Only the material covering the wires is soft. if you are sensitive to fabrics then I'd not get this one.
It has thick sturdy straps.
I thought the gore will be too high for me but actually, the wires ...don't go all the way up in there? The full gore height is 11 cm but the actual wires stop 1 cm before the top. So where the bow is, there's no wires.
Speaking of wires, I think this is the widest bra I've ever tried. I know it's too big so it could be that too but honestly I don't think it would be much less wide in my proper size either? And the band is pretty snug aswell, but I think most Bravissimo run very TTS, like if they claim to be 34 band then they'll only stretch to 34 and that's it. So if you're between band sizes , size up. I think I will if I order Bravissimo again.

Ehm ... :D I think they are right to recommend to size up. Sorry to disagree. Imo Alana runs smaller than most other styles. But that could also be my personal fot shape struggling with this more fob friendly cut. On the other side if Brav recommends it they do it because of lots of exprierence fitting customers in this bra, as they don't recommend sizing up on every other bra as far as I know.
No the bra is not good on you. I'd avoid it, it's also too wide set in general, too tall and wide. If you could size down to 34HH maybe the width and height be good for you, but then not be big enough in cups (hence "running small") .
alidieux , Bravissimo's recommendation to size up makes sense to me if your bradrobe has a lot of bras where the stretched band length is 2 to 4 inches longer than the stated bra size. If you are used to bras that stretch that much more than the stated bra size, you should size up in Bravissimo. My search for the perfect bra stopped when I found the Alana. It's not truly perfect but for me, it's been the best fitting, most comfortable bras I have ever owned.
alisa , Alana may run smaller than other bras but I feel they are more TTS in the band and cup, consistently so. In comparison, Bratabase measurement data for a 38JJ Fantasie has a stretched band length of 43.7 in and a cup depth of 17.6, while a comparable Alana would have to be 42L. With Alana and Bravissimo in general, what you see is what you get.
alanagirl Yea I can understand the band thing but I find most bravissimo bands to be the same stretch level and don't really stretch further than what the band size nr is :o but for example if I compare with the 34KK darcy which is ofc also huge on me, I get similar gapping in that as the Alana. That's why I thought it's not necessarily that it runs small. Although what alisa say make sense too, for fot shapes i guess they would need size up etc.
Yeh so i now measure fully 34J so next time I order stuff I will order in this size and see how it goes too. Instead of overestimating my size. It will make reviews better too, knowing that my size might be correct but then you could clearly see faults in shape better, but also order 1 size up also. But I'm putting together another order of random polish brands that they have at lace lingerie. But maybe I don't give up on bravissimo just yet :)
alanagirl yes I like how Bravissimo bands are tts! Good for 30 and 28 band folks who are sized out in lots of other brands were these sizes fit like 32.
Actually when I was first properly fitted 8 years ago my first bra was 32H Tango. Obviously I was lower weight back then -- so I soon discovered it prefer a 30HH/30J, then tried few Cleo bras and I had 2 that fitted me in 28J (!) because the bands run so large. I might been 29-30 underbust back then. But for me Panache /Cleo was *it* back then and I found the sizes to be tts esp. the Tango which is their staple similar to what Alana is to Bravissimo.
I have Panache Tango 30K, it still fits me currently. But I struggle with 32K Alana and would size up to 34 band in Arla!
it might be like with the vanity sizing, in rbrand you are XL in another an M so does either run large or the other run small?
Also I think that Alana is the bra with most firm upper cup edge, so I it tends to cut in easily (if one doesn't have one that is clearly too large.) So I imagine fitters gave feed back that Alana cuts in on a lot of customers therefore must run small. From Bloggers we know Brav. staff usually fits someone first in Alana to check size - imagine someone comes in and tells them I wear 32H (but wear a Tango that "runs large") they get out 32H Alana but it doesn't fit... fitter and customer now think "Ah Alana runs small".
I can understand that you think the opposite way as Alana was to you your first best fit like Tango to me was back in the day so you compare the other way round.
alidieux Don't give up on Bravissimo just yet. I also had to try many over the years to find the best. Yeah maybe get only 2 styles but in 2 diff. sizes :) so we can spot the issues better and hopefully help you.
The color and fabric of this bra is beautiful. It's a rusty orangey brown color, fully lined lace bra. The lining is sheer though. I LOVE this color lol.
The whole top part of the cup (lace and lining) is stretchy, but the bottom of the cup only the lace fabric is stretchy but the lining is not, so basically the whole bottom cup isn't stretchy. It is so soft, the lace and the top cup lining. It has an elastic seam at the very top of the cup also.
It has very sturdy straps, not soft like the Arla, more like Alana.
It's so pretty and nice I wish ...it worked for me but it is very shallow and tall. It's the opposite of what I need. comfortwise wearing it it's okay, even though it's incredibly tall, I didn't find any problems with the armpit area but then again I didn't wear it for very long. The wires are very wide.

I actually think there isn't a bra that is stretchy in lower cup too (unless some soft cup like Ahh bra or so) because that would not support well? But it's good to know that in this style the top cup is stretchy up to K-cup! The bra is much too big. I think you could size down to 34J (if it weren't too shallow for you :( ) Also straps on Lacey are centered and on you they look wide as balconette straps, that shows how the bra frame is overall much too big - if 34J came with deeper cups I think it would be a winner.

You've probably heard that this bra is pointy. Yeah it is a bit, has a retro feel to it. But it's also in kind of a cute way rather than an old ugly bullet breasts way. You may have also heard about this bra's uplift. All I can say is YES. It's in the construction of the seams. I don't know if to get this kind of up lift you need pointyness, but I'm doubting it. This kind of uplift is near impossible to get without padding in this small underbust/large bust range but it does it effortlessly because of the construction. I think this bra is a solid choice in the few bras our size range has.
It actually tacks with my close set breasts, doesn't quad boob or even threaten it, doesn't shift and did I mention the uplift? This bra became more rounded as time went on for me, but that could be due to me filling it out better.
This bra has full coverage and is supportive but still lightweight. I have several and they have not stretched much or lost their elasticity over time.The gore is quite high but sits flat and does not dig in. The wires are not too high at the sides. The shape of the cups does not give me a very round shape. It is slightly torpedo-like but not unnatural. I have a small gap at the bottom of the cup. The fabrication of the cups is rigid (but soft) so the sizing has to be right for a smooth fit at the top of the cup. Occasional issues with wires poking through the casing, not enough to stop me buying this style though.

The bra is the same construction, support and fit. Just want to put it out there (again) that you need to size up in this bra! Go up in band size at least 1 full size and 1-2 for cups depending on your shape. I can barely close this bra in a 34 band, and I usually wear a 32 band. I probably be better with a 36JJ! For the time being I wear this one with an extender since it was a bargain find on ebay.
This is my second bravissimo bra, and I have to say I love the quality and fabrics they use. I even love the crazy red on blue polka dots https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> This bra definitely gives a more pointed shape as others have said but I don't find it super noticeable under most of my clothing. What I do notice is the great support and lift I get! It is also super comfortable, rivals my ewa for comfort and is definitively better for comfort than my panache jasmine.
This was one of my try with Bravissimo bras. It is nok for me. Actually I'm 34Jj or K in Panache Tango. When I lost some weight the shape was nok as well. I only tried on for some houers. I got shoulder pain after it. Pros: Quite good under my arms Center gore is not too high Wide straps

I'm happy with this bra as it is the first I have that fits me properly. The fabric is comfortable and the range of colours available is great. I find the wing height maybe a little too high as it can start to rub the skin near my armpit after prolonged wear. The back band is lovely and wide and gives great support, as are the wide straps.
When I first put these on I have slight quadboob and slight wrinkling in the bottom of the cup but it settles into place and fits really well. I do find the straps tend to crease and on my nude one they fold in half. Even still this is a decent bra and gives a reasonably natural shape, more east-west than Cleo Marcie but far less than Elomi plunges.

The Fleur Bra is based on the same body (Melrose) as the Linear Rose Bra, but it fits a little differently. Also the materials used are somewhat different.
I, personally, like the look of this one much better than the Linear Rose, but it's definitely still fairly loud! The main parts of the bra are thick, satiny material which is teal with pink squiggly lines (abstract flowers, I think) printed on. The upper section of the cup is two layer mesh, teal with magenta embroidery, which is very pretty, but fairly complex, and may show under some clothes. There are satin bows at the decoration points.
The overall shape ...is the same as the Linear Rose. Four section cup, including side support panel. Straps attached more inward (not center pull, exactly, but certainly not outer-edge-pull), banded (not much actual band under the cup, but it does go down and around). High quality materials, definitely a well made bra. The underwires are narrower than the Linear Rose.
The upper section of the cup is a little deeper than Linear Rose, I think. And maybe the shape is a little different? I don't get as bad quad boob-ing with this one, but it's still there. And the wires definitely are not wide enough to fully encircle my breasts. (I need extremely wide wires, so if you don't this shouldn't be a problem.) The wires are not exactly narrow, just not wide enough for me.
This bra makes a lot of use of the two-tone design. The body and band are teal or teal-based, the straps are magenta. Looking at the inside of the cup, the lower sections are the back-side of the patterned material, which look sort of white with faint pattern, and the seams are teal. The wire casings are magenta, as are the hook and eye panels. It is certainly a very bold-colored bra!
The band is snug and firm on this one as well, although maybe a little more stretchy than Linear Rose? I really wanted this bra to fit, because I actually do like it a lot. If it were cheaper I might settle for not perfect, but, maybe I'm spoiled by Panache Jasmine, I just expect more from a bra, particularly one at this price point.
I was really glad to see Bravissimo add another "full-coverage" model to their line, but I really, really don't understand why they don't go to KK or L in these, as they have a lot of support for larger breasts. It's hard to tell if a bigger cup would make this bra fit properly, but I wish I at least had a chance to find out. Read more 333 more words
Nice colorway, it seams very supportive. For me it is too small, cups and back run in smaller as other Bravissimo bras. Cup is from 4 pineces. Metál chips at the back.
Oh I've been looking to get Georgia! This colour is absolutely amazing. Sorry it wasn't that good of a fit :(
