A perfect bra if you are short rooted and wide set in this size range. Materials are soft, shape is round with a peaked apex. Generously gifted to me by alisa, I did not realize the band had been reduced. So I replaced it with a 40 CK band I had laying around, plus reduced the gore and added shorter, narrower wires, while taking in the top of the cup a bit more. The results are a nearly perfect fit. I could do with even narrower wires and especially cups that are shorter on the sides. I might make those alterations in the future. In the meantime, it's a pretty great bra and nice to know I can size down to a 40JJ when I buy a new one in the future.
So I was curious to try my very first 36L from Bravissimo. Their bras are known to run small and I was curious just how small. I think that on the 36L the cup are about a generous 36K in Elomi / Panache brands that I could compare it too.
I usually wear 34L in Alana and it works. The only issue I have is that the gore does not tack. As we know, the gore should tack on a well fitting bra, so I wondered if the 36L would solve that issue.
It didn't.
So I had issues with the fit, because the bra has been well loved by the previous owner. The band and wires were very much stretched out. Wires were much too wide, the straps too separated, the band felt loose. It was a bit big in the cups as I had some gaping. I think I will stick to my usual size of 34L despite the gore not tacking as 36L didn't solve that issue.
Do you think it didn't tack because it's too closed on top? Or maybe because the wires are so wide there's not enough material up front where your boobs are?
This is one of my preferred bras, as it feels quite supportive. I would go up a cup size if there was one available which is why I am stuck with a 36L and not a 34LL . An L cup in this make is almost the same as KK in others. As of Summer 2013, I am now wearing this in a 32L. It is a good fit but the straps are too elastic and allow too much bounce.
I love this style, but I only just get away with this size. The 34L was a perfect fit, but my boobs have grown since then, unfortunately my chest remains unchanged. So while my boobs are now filling the cups on the 36L, I have to fasten the bra at the tightest hook. If I had this size cup on a 34, it would be perfect!
This is the second time I have reviewed this size and model, I thought I ought to as there is a slight size difference. This is slightly fuller in the cup and the band support is greater as it is new compared to the other which I reviewed, which is at least six months old and near its expiry point.
Great!!
