For reference, I am petite (5'1"), with wide set breast tissue that is slightly shallow and tuberous in that I sag and my left breast is smaller than my right and two inches higher on my chest wall. I won the genetic lottery! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":-P" />
I am a fitness professional and teach for a company that also sells athletic apparel. It's much easier to buy more sports bras than to figure out when I'm going to do laundry.
My employer doesn't keep a whole lot of 30 bands in stock and when they do, D is usually as high in the cup size ...as they go. Whenever they stock something in a 30DD, I go gangbusters. They have been stocking fewer and fewer 30 bands because they "don't sell" (quoting management). I have been the squeaky wheel for years now that "inclusive sizing" means carrying extended sizes on BOTH sides of the conventional size range.
The Fiona is now discontinued by Brooks, so I'll probably have an even harder time sourcing this bra. The replacement style doesn't even compare to the Fiona in terms of support or quality.
Compared to some of the other colors that I have, the white "shows" more in that the gore shows through from the outside. The bra is fully lined, but there are no removable cups or pads, so I also flaunt the "headlights" look against my will.
The band, straps, etc. fit well. The straps are adjustable with velcro, which makes getting out of this bra when I'm a sweaty mess so much easier (no contortionist moves to get a bra saturated with sweat over my head ftw) I've worn this bra for some very high-impact aerobic workouts, running, etc. and have not had any problems with chaffing, shoulder, or chest pain. This bra keeps me in place and there is absolutely no bounce whatsoever. Read more 217 more words
This is a compromise bra for me. I need a 30G/GG and the only way to get a sports bra in that size is custom. So, that being said, I’m pretty pleased.
Brooks makes this style in bands 32 to 44, cups C(3) to E(6), but the store I bought it at only carried 34 to 40 and no DD or E in 34s. I also tried on Fiona and Juno - again the Fiona was 34D and the Juno a 32D and 34D. The biggest problem I had with all the styles was that the straps were on the short side. I always ...need my straps let out as long as they go, but I actually could not get the Juno fastened because of the shortness of the straps and the Fiona straps were only just fastenable.
The Maia has a standard wired bra on the inside and a compression bra on the outside combining support. The straps are nice an wide over the shoulders, and the inside fabric is wick-away spacer material. The main problem I had, other than it is the wrong size is that even though I am too big for these cups, I get wrinkling in the top half. I am slightly bottom full, but more or less even, so I think you’d have to be very top full to really fit the cup. However, the outside compression layer hides all the wrinkles so at least no one will notice.
No nice velcro patch over the hooks to make it wearable without a shirt, but I never do that anyway. Read more 165 more words
This style has been discontinued by Brooks - it is a combination encapsulation/compression bra. It is meant for a C/D cup and the inside tag says that it fits a 30CD-32C. For this reason, I think the cups were a little small - I had some excess tissue coming from the armpit area. There's no underwire and it closes in the back with a J hook. The straps are not adjustable and cross in the back. This is a great medium-to-high impact bra.
I was already so disappointed when Brooks discontinued all of their sports bras and launched the Dare line. The quality just doesn't compare to the old Brooks sports bras - they get stretched out so easily and don't hold up well in the wash.
Brooks also launched letter sizing for a lot of their bras, where they previously had band and cup sizes.
This bra is a classic example of why letter sizing never works. The band was fine, but there was so much spillage in the cups and underarm area. It was not comfortable to work out with this bra at all.
This style has been discontinued by Brooks. The bra does not have underwire, doesn't have adjustable straps, and has removable pads. You take it on and off by slipping it over the head and thankfully, it's not a struggle to do this when I'm sweaty after a workout. I find the straps a little long and the band a bit too roomy. For medium to high impact workouts, I still have a decent amount of support. It's also quite flattering - when I was struggling to find a real bra that fit well, I'd default to this because it gave me a good amount of lift. It's unfortunate that a bra like this was never made to be more suitable for small bands and larger cups.
This style has been discontinued by Brooks. It's interesting; this style was once made by Moving Comfort (I think Brooks bought them out) and the fit and the way the straps cross in the back is totally different with the design that Brooks makes. For a Brooks Size S, the band on this bra runs snug (which is good in my case). It's still too big, though. The cups are also too small. If I had to guess, this bra was probably intended for a 32B or C, maximum. During intense workouts, I do feel like I'm supported enough but the fit could definitely be better.
This bra has been discontinued by Brooks. It features removable cookies, it does not have adjustable straps, and it's the type of sports bra you need to take on and off by pulling it over your head (there are no hooks or zippers).

This bra from Brooks is discontinued and was a slightly different style than the classic FastForward. It's meant for light to moderate impact movement. It has removable padding, adjustable straps that cross in the back, and is taken on and off by pulling it over your head (vs the J hook of the original FastForward). Personally, I think this style suits me a lot better than the classic FastForward; the band is a little more snug - which is a good thing for me since I often struggle with sports bras that are letter sizes due to the small band/large cup issue. The cups on this bra are too small but that seems to be an issue with any sports bras that use letter sizing.

Personally, I like this version of the Brooks Hot Shot bra than other iterations where the straps were more of a classic racerback. The reason being is that the straps on this particular version are a lot shorter than other Hot Shot bras (which is a good thing in my case).
Other than that, I have the classic "letter sized" sports bra issues - too big of a band, too small of a cup.
I'm able to do high-impact aerobic activity in this bra, but I do feel the band sliding around if it's an activity like martial arts.
My employer doesn't keep a whole lot of Brooks 30 bands in stock and when they do, D is usually as high in the cup size as they go. I settled for a 30D and hoped for the best. The Fiona is now discontinued by Brooks, so I'll probably have an even harder time sourcing 30DDs. The cup is small, mainly in the outer/armpit area where I always seem to have issues due to having wide set roots and substantial breast tissue towards my armpits. Everything else though: the band, straps, etc. fit well. I've worn this bra for some very high-impact aerobic workouts, running, etc. and have not had any problems with chaffing, shoulder, or chest pain from the slightly too small size.
