Okay. I'm calling this a win, despite the band size. My underbust is 26 and this is a 30. I barely have to pull the band in order to fasten it on the tightest hooks (meaning it isn't really stretching to reach around my ribcage), so it is clearly too big -- but it also seems to be staying in place just fine. Let's hope it doesn't stretch out too much.
The cups add a little more size than I'm usually comfortable with, but they fit very well. They provide an attractive push-up effect without any gaps or quadding (when I adjust the straps properly), which is nice to ...have as a bra option. This bra is great for far-spaced breasts that are broad-rooted, and full on bottom and outsides, like mine.
I feel a bit irresponsible keeping this one, since the band is large and the level of padding is more than I expected -- but it fills a serious void in my bra wardrobe. I really needed (and have been searching for) a totally seamless, low-cut, beige bra with convertible straps (why aren't all straps detachable?). This completely fits the bill, aside from the large band. It disappears beneath my clothing, it is incredibly comfortable, and I think it's really pretty. The material is nice, and super smooth. I love that. The scalloped edge helps the outline of the cup to disappear under thin shirts, which I think is clever. If the band gets too loose, maybe I will be able to alter it somehow.
I may start petitioning Wacoal and Timpa to make their bras with smaller band sizes. Unfortunately, the best-fitting cups I've found have bands too large, and it's bumming me out. Read more 176 more words

This was one I kept for a long time too, despite small fit issues! I'm still tempted to grab one when they pop up here. It made transitioning to my new bra size easier since it was more like what I used to wear.

Altering bands down is really easy, and you have a much larger pool of possibilities once you get the hang of it. It also means you can keep your favorite bras for longer, so long as the cups are intact. :)

you could try altering the band to make it smaller, I've seen lots of tutorials online and they seem pretty easy.
bellea & addictedtoyou -- I likely will alter all of my bands down eventually, when I get the courage to do so. I think I will actually start practicing on my super old 34A bras, so I don't have to worry about ruining a new/expensive bra if I screw it up. In the meantime, I will probably try something like a Rixie Clip or other band tightener. I worry about damaging the material with those metal teeth it clamps on with, though.

I really wanted to love this bra, but it isn't going to work out.
This was my first spacer bra, and I really like the material. The whole thing is nice and soft, and I love the flexibility of the foam. It's so light and airy and comfy! Unfortunately, this bra was not made very thoughtfully, so there is a weird bubble at the tops of the cups because the cup itself is way too open, but the band that creates the upper edge is much too tight/closed. So there's a big gap on the inside, but the edge cuts in and causes quadding. Super weird.
The band is too ...stretchy for me, so this bra wants to move around too much (I don't generally have any business buying something larger than a 28, but I thought I'd give it a shot). The straps are only half adjustable, and I wish they could adjust shorter to help try to flatten those bubbles out (I've never wished for -shorter- straps before...).
The wires are an okay width for me, and the bra itself is very comfortable. The gore doesn't bother me a bit, either. But all in all, this was a fail for me. Hopefully I will find a spacer bra in my size one day which works out better! Read more 108 more words
This one fits! Horray~ I measure at a 28DD but have shallow breasts and wide roots, so the tissue expands too much to fill a DD. A 28" band sometimes cuts into my ribs after long wear.
This 30C balconette bra fits very well and is not too tight. It is a very pretty bra, though there are a few things I'm a bit picky about.
The lace is slightly itchy where it touches my skin but I'm hoping with wear it'll soften up. The strange design choice for a semi-scalloped lace trim also looks strange...kind of like gapping issues from afar. ... As with all lace bras it's not super versatile so wear under thicker fabrics. It also gives a more conical than round shape. The straps are not fully adjustable but it was fine on me. I did not have to adjust to the shortest it could go and I am only 5'0.
Otherwise the lining is very soft and comfy and the bra itself is very cute!
Edit: Ugh almost perfect with this one. The squeaking is audible under clothes and the straps are slightly too wide. They fall off even at the shortest length. Read more 121 more words
It's the only bra that fits both of my assymetric breasts. At the same time, I much better prefer the shape I get in Ewa Michalak or Freya Rio. Also the straps are driving me crazy as most of the length of the strap doesn't stretch so I can't find a sweet spot between having them too loose and falling off the shoulder and too tight.
I got this second hand. I'll try wearing this a couple of times and will sell it if it doesn't work out.
I think this one feels good, but I am still having some of the same gaping on the upper right side. I'm suspecting this is either from the cup being too big for ONLY the right side or that the molded cups are too tall. Can't tell.
Edited to add: I think there are some pokey bits on the places where the straps and/or hooks attach. Not sure if that's something that would be on all bras of this model, or just whatever batch this one was in.

No, but it's close. The cups are medium weight foam molded there is a tiny amount of gapping at the top of one cup (the other one sits nearly flat). However, the band fits large and stretches quickly. Alterations are difficult because of the foam-like material.
This is a really cute bra. It's also one of the most comfortable bra I've worn. It gives a nice shape under clothes. But the band is way too big on my small frame. My band measures 25-26 inches. I really wish this comes in 28. There is some gaping at the top and it rides up even when I wear it in the last hook due to the band being too big for me. I'm planning on just sewing the band to make it fit better. After wearing and inspecting, the underwire of this bra seems a lil wide for my narrow breast. And the cup seems ...a lil too far apart & the gore height seems too high up. I still wear this bra though since it's comfortable despite not fitting me that well.
Edit: After altering the band & wearing it for a while, it now fits me well. It doesn't ride up & not much gaping like before.
Also, I just want to say that when I'm on my period, this bra fits me well giving me a slight quadboob on my larger breast. Read more 80 more words
This bra fits great for me (wide/shallow FoB) other than the band that is too large. The straps dig into my shoulder a bit and I think they would feel better if they were completely elastic as opposed to half of it. I'm thinking of removing the straps and wearing it as a strapless (it would solve the problem of the bra rising up when I raise my arms). Overall the quality is good and it's gorgeous! The wires seem wide (not too wide for me) but might be a problem depending on your shape. As the other reviews have mentioned, the lace is scalloped but it lies flat for me and doesn't look like theres gapping even though there is slight gapping on my smaller boob.
I heard a lot of recommendations to try out this bra because I guess I have shallower breasts and a wider torso. My measurements put me closer to a 28C/D or a 30 B/C and I tried this in a 30C.
My left boob is slightly larger than my right boob, and because of this, one cup is filled about perfectly whereas the other definitely has a little extra space just in the top of the cup. The seams on the top edge of the cup tend to cut a little closer to the breast, but because I don't fill it quite perfectly, it doesn't create any quad-boob effect. ...This bra tends to make my boobs feel a little pointier and not as full or upright as I had hoped, especially in the extra room of the cup of my right boob where I don't fill it in all the way. Luckily, I have extra mini pillow pads left from another bra that I inserted into the bottom of the cup and I seem to fill it a little better.
The band is tighter but I'm currently wearing it on the tightest setting because if I have it any looser, I feel like the bra will ride up in front if I lift my arms. The white/nude lace color is very pretty though, and I will say it's about a 90% fit. The straps and bra feel very cool and silky light! This cup is on the narrow side and fairly projected. It looks nice on, but there is airspace in the cup that my nipple is just hanging out on. I got the "spruced up" color, which is a GORGEOUS color. I wish it fit better, it's so pretty!
I tried this one in 30C and 30D in store. The fit was so off, and this bra is so highly measured I didn't take measurements of my own. The cups are way too projected and closed on top. It might be the weirdest fit I've had so far. I'm mostly reviewing this to keep notes that I've tried it, but I won't be coming back to it.
Underwire and band were super comfortable. Unfortunately I think this bra is too shallow for me. Also, straps were not stretchy, which was a little uncomfortable.
This bra was scratchy and ill fitting. It felt tight on my breasts, the straps dug into my shoulders even when pretty loose, and it gave me quad boob. This line was so highly recommended, I am pretty disappointed!
Given my recent experience with B.tempt'd by Wacoal bras running quite small in the cups (I usually have to size up to 30DD for best results as I am kind of between 30D/30DD in most fits of this brand), the B.Sultry Balconnette stands out as an anomaly in fit.
I originally tried this bra several months ago in store at Nordstrom Rack in my normal size, 30D. I remember the cups gapping quite badly at the top since this is a quite an open top balconnette, but since it's so pretty I decided to order it in a 30C. Now, a 30C is almost always too small ...for me, and based on the measurements alone this should've been way too small in the cup, but it actually works. The fit reminds me of my Le Mystere Sophia, also in a 30C. The reason is that I am on the shallow side with short roots, so open top balconnettes usually require more fullness than I have, however sizing down allows the cups to push me up and give me a really nice rounded appearance on top, similar to the appearance of wearing a corset.
The super rounded shape of the molded cups also contributes to this bra's shaping abilities, and it is truly unique in my wardrobe as it is the most rounded and lifted shape I've ever achieved. Since the cups just have a lace overlay, I find that it doesn't create any issues for me under clothing. Even the eyelash lace detail at the cup's upper edge doesn't show.
I also liked the fit of the band, which measures on the smaller end and thus feels nice and snug although it's not the most supportive construction. It's a full band, but both the top and bottom elastics are quite narrow, so I would be worried about this stretching out over time. However, for now I am glad it is nice and snug. I am also happy that this style has fully adjustable straps, which is an issue for me in many B.tempt'd bras!
The style of the bra is also super pretty and in line with my aesthetics. I don't love the appearance of molded cup bras normally, but the lace overlay with 3 piece seaming makes it prettier and more glamorous. The eyelash lace at the upper cups, the subtle contrast in the colors, and small bow details lend a vintage vibe, though it is decidedly a modern fit thanks to the super round cups.
I would recommend this bra if you can get away with open top balconnettes and you want a rounded, push-up look without padding. Shallower breasts should try one cup size down, while other shapes should be fine in their normal size. Read more 357 more words
