I picked this gem up at Nordstrom Rack for a very good discount. The three part cup consists of a flexible fabric with a soft comfortable lining. Great for my size changing breasts. This is a full coverage bra perfect for containing everything. I feel lifted and separated. I do find the wires a bit long under my arm pits, but nothing I can't handle. The straps are well placed and the strap thickness just right to carry the load. Straps are fully adjustable. I feel this gives a natural-rounded shape on me. I feel snug and secure in the cups which helps with the soreness I'm currently experiencing. Overall a solid buy and the quality is very nice. I believe this is in the color Cookie. It is a rich chocolate brown with a light brown lining.
This is a pretty bra, and it feels fine when I first put it on. But it doesn't really fit.
The band is too loose. I can stick my whole hand back there. I definitely want to wear this (new) on at least the second set of hooks.
The cups are filled fine, but when I look closely, I see that the underwire isn't sitting quite where it should, and a bit of boobage doesn't quite peek out, but the wire makes everything odd underneath or it rides up, or something.
I've worn this maybe 4 times and plan to sell or trade it, probably in The Bust Line forum in Ravelry. Or maybe here.
I bought this bra at the same time as my @Natori Hidden Glamour full fit contour bra in 32G. After wearing this one for about an hour, I think I like my @Natori a little more. But here's my review:
Pros: The gore comes up a little higher like a full-coverage. I really like this feature because it offers a little more support. These are lined cups, which I think offers more flexibility for variation between breasts. Three rows of hooks! Yay! The lace on the side panels is gorgeous. I still have a lot of room for adjusting the straps for when they inevitably stretch. This is indeed a spacer bra. I have close-set ...breasts so I almost always have cleavage. This is probably the first bra that has actually kept the girls apart. Haha. I'm hoping this will help minimize boob sweat this summer and reduce the cleavage breakouts (acne) I get.
Cons: It is a little more snug than I'd really prefer but I'm hoping that this will help extend the life of this bra. The sides of the cups do very slightly cut into my armpits. I'm used to wearing sports bras that do this so this is really only a minor annoyance. Plus, I have a little bit of arm flab that affects this. I anticipate that the lace covering the underbust will curl given time and potentially show under thin tees. I will try to update this review with wear.
All in all, though the bra is a little more snug than I'd prefer, it's still a great bra and still pretty comfortable. I will probably keep this bra for two main reasons: 1) it's the only other underwire bra that actually fits me, and 2) I'm really hoping the spacing helps with the summer boob sweat situation.
P.S. The name of this bra is actually "Merci" Spacer, not "Mercy."
Update 2/23/17: After wearing this bra a few times, I decided to return it. It was too tight in the band to be comfortable enough for me to really wear. I think if I were at my old weight it probably would have fit better but oh well. If I lose a little weight, I would probably try to buy this again. It was still an awesome bra. This looks great on you! I'm actually planning to buy one in 65G that I've been watching on Ebay - the "G" scares me, but with how they size it's actually UK "F" right? Do you think the cups fit true to size? I wish there were more measurements for these!
Does spacer refer to the fit of the bra (in that it spaces out your boobs) or the material? I always thought it was about material, but I think your explanation makes sense. I've noticed several bras with "spacer" in the name lately :) My favorite are Simone Perele spacer bras, and Fantasie has some too, if you're looking for similar bras.
I think she was joking about the alternate meaning of spacer! A spacer bra definitely means a bra made of spacer fabric.
Absolutely one of my favorite bras. Lace does show through under some shirts, but overall rarely an issue. Comfort is superior, I love the lift at the bottom of the cup keep my breast tissue way from my body, and how forward-facing the tissue is in the cup. It's one of my favorite bras for summer, as it keeps me cool and dry. It's my second of the same style, just as happy as my first!
Got it on sale at Century 21! Good encapsulation without being a massive full coverage bra with lots of fabric (I don't tend to like those.) The mesh top is fairly forgiving - my right boob is a bit larger, but I can accommodate this by adjusting the straps. It gives good lift and while somewhat rounded, still a projected shape. I'm always trying to get my boobs to come out from hiding under my arms, so it does the job with that. After a full day of wear, I'm glad to take it off, despite the good fit though - the wire is quite firm.
Blue, with embroidered flowers on the bottom, mesh on top colorway
I promised myself I wouldn't buy another bra in 2016 but here I am. I just can't go past a bra shop. I decided to buy this one because I don't have a nude unlined bra yet. The colour is a medium white-person-nude, slightly darker than my natural skin tone. It reminds me of coffee with a lot of milk. The cup has lace on it with little "C"s on it, I find it quite cute.
The gore is relatively low and quite narrow, but thanks to the side support no problem for my relatively wide-set breast. It has a little bow with another C-letter, this one with rhinestones.
All in all, the cup fits very well. There's a bit of wrinkling here and there but nothing major. And a strap gap as usual. The shape of the cup is a bit rounder than I like it, closer to Cleo than to Freya but not quite like my 32F - Cleo » Kali Balconnet Bra (7561). The band seems to be true to size.
I would recommend this bra for someone who has a long torso and likes a minimizing effect with wide wires and low-medium projection. Probably best for even fullness (I am even-to-FOB). Accommodates tall roots. The gore is the kicker: I do not know anyone who could tolerate the 4 inch tall gore that they have made in this size. I recently tried a different Chantelle demi (C chic sexy demi) in 32F, but the cups were just a bit too small, so I thought I'd give this 32G a go. Now I know why Chantelle doesn't make most of its bras in 32G: they have no idea how to ...grade them.
Gore: 4 inches tall. 4 inches! Digs in at the top. Cups: single layer of mesh. Single vertical seam. Minimized shape. Some loose fabric at the top, but fits well elsewhere. The sides of the cups are digging into my armpits. Wires: wide. Bra does not lay flat on a table when hooked on the tightest hook (dead giveaway of poor grading). Straps: not fully adjustable. In fact, the adjustable portion does not even reach the top of my shoulder. I never complain about too-long straps, so this is odd. The cups are already digging into my armpits with long straps anyway, so no sense shortening them. They have done a split strap in the front for sexy effect. Band: accurately sized. Fabric: soft. Cute and unique mesh print continues along the band. I ordered the purple (barenecessities sale) and it is accurate to online pictures. Read more 144 more words
I found this bra extremely discounted at a thrift store and was actually very pleasantly surprised by the fit. The underwires are the perfect narrow width, and there is finally enough depth at the bottom of the cup that the wires stay in my IMF effortlessly. It's such a glorious feeling! The moderately stretchy lace material is quite comfortable, and I think well accommodates upper fullness as well as helps to reduce gaping for more bottom-heavy shapes. It is a decidedly full-coverage style, but one that I think is classic and feminine in appearance rather than matronly, as well as workable with a decent amount of necklines; for ...that reason, it is my go-to option for days when I want minimized cleavage and a more "secure" feeling.
This bra very effectively separates and lifts the breasts, but the shape ranges from slightly pointy to a natural-looking teardrop depending on how tightly the straps are tightened. I do find that once I adjust the straps enough to achieve the latter shape, the band tends to ride up a little... I really wish this bra was available in a 30 band instead... but it doesn't render it totally unwearable. Finally, the wires come up moderately high under the armpits as well as into the high center gore, which can sometimes be slightly irritating or just something I'm conscious of while wearing this bra as opposed to others with shorter wires. This bra creates great cleavage without quadboob. I do not use the included inserts, but these do enhance the push up effect. The plunge style and low gore is good for close-set breasts. Be careful not to wash in warm/hot water...I did in and the color of the lace bled into the white fabric underneath. The bra is a bit stretchy...I sized up in band but wish I hadn't!
When I first put it on, I thought it was waay too large in the cups. But, after scooping and swooping and tightening straps, I realize this is almost a perfect fit for my narrow, projected bottomheavy self. The wires are almost narrow enough, the cups are perfect, and all my underarm flab is neatly encased. It's a lot of bra though, the lace comes up so high on my chest I can only wear this under crew neck or turtleneck shirts. Still, very pretty lace and very comfy (if only the wires weren't so long/high up my sternum/armpits)
This bra has seen some heavy use during it's time. It looks good under clothing (great shape, no visible lines), does not cut into my skin anywhere, and is comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I wore this bra while working 10+ hour shifts waiting tables (ie a lot of moving around) and it did the job.
It's pretty stretched out now (and my body has changed), so I can no longer use it with comfort - the band slides down and the cups sit about half an inch below my breasts, providing no support. However, aside from some stretching in the band and signs of wear ...at a few points on the bottom of the straps, the bra still looks great, which I think says a lot about the quality of the materials and construction.
Though I loved this bra, the padding on the cups is thicker than on many other moulded-cup bras I've tried, and somewhat stiff, so it'll encompass your boobs and keep them in place, but not necessarily mold to your body. Also, due to the thick material, it's not the most breathable material.
As for appearance, well, it's a t-shirt bra, and it serves it's purpose for that, but it's not the sexiest for a hot date. Read more 105 more words
This review can be summed up as: oh my god the fit of the Haussman, just WOW NO. Because I'm pretty sure the infamous Cleo Jude fit me better than this bra! So I tried it out in a 70G (or by ridic American sizing: 32DDDD) because I had better luck with an unpadded Chantelle bra in 70G - not amazing, but way better than this thing. I should have known, because the Haussman has molded cups, and internet research has told me that Chantelles run pretty narrow, so really, what was I thinking? No, what made me want to shoehorn my wide set, bottom heavy boobs into this model ...were the underwires ENCASED IN PADDING. Or some sort of foam. Either way, it looked so comfortable!
When it comes down to the fit, this bra was all sorts of wrong for my breasts. First, after I scooped and swooped, there was some weird lumpy wrinkling going on down at the bottoms of the cups, you know, where my breasts WEREN'T. Then, the tops of the cups cut into my breast tissue but somehow managed to have gapping at the same time? Like, when I bent over, or twisted my upper body around like I was looking behind me, there was gapping in the upper corners of the bra where it met the straps, almost like the strap positioning and top of the bra were too wide for my shoulders or frame. No matter how I positioned my boobs, there was either the wrinkling at the bottom of the cups, quadboob, gapping or ALL THREE at the same time. I just couldn't win with this bra. The straps also could only be adjusted halfway, and they seemed a little too loose. In addition, I had to fasten the band on the tightest hooks for a snug fit (which isn't surprising because I'm kind of between band sizes :/ )
It's too bad, because even with all these fitting flaws, the Haussman was quite comfy. This may not be the most sexy or elegant of bras, but if you have breasts that are somewhat close together and/or narrow and are looking for a comfortable T-shirt bra with some padding, you might have better luck with this bra than I did. This is a decent everyday bra. I could've gone up a cup size, but this one has enough Ds to be serviceable and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the purple color disappears under shirts even better than the black version (that is, if you happen to be a female whose natural skin color is a great deal darker than what the lingerie companies call "nude" ).
After a few months of ownership, the bra's band has stretched considerably. Would size down if you are already wearing the bra on the smallest hook. It has also become more obvious that I could have gone up a cup size. In the future, I'll have to keep in mind the difference between UK and US cup sizing.
This is a great t-shirt bra, very simple in styling, nothing fancy about it, but perfect for an everyday bra for me. It's a good fit other than the band, but at the time I got it, I was unable to find a 30 band, which would, I'm sure, fit much better, as the band on this is a bit big. I'll keep it though, as it is fairly comfortable, and I may have the band altered a bit to fit better if needed.
Also love this! Chantelle 4evah! Consistent cup sizes between the two I have (85 G FR). This C-Chic is one of the cheapest Chantelle bras, and I think it's a great place to start if you're looking at the brand. Supportive, and makes my boobs feel like Bs again! The band on this one is like an average to generous 32 I would say (compared to the tight 32s from Elle McPherson, whereas the Chantelle 32 Rive Gauche is inching up into a tight 34).
The purchase of this bra was at the recommendation of an overly-pushy sales person in a high-end specialty lingere boutique. After being measured, this is what I wound up with, the center gore between the cups doesn't sit flat against my breastbone, she told me I wouldn't find a bra that would since my ribcage is so small, and the underwires ride up under my armpits, she told me that is because it is a full cup bra, evidently I was in a very gullible mood that day because I shelled out $80 for this ill-fitted item. Anyway, this is a high-quality bra, the quality of the material and the workmanship are top-notch, what you would expect. However, the shape of this cup is odd. Aside from the size issue, this cup has a slightly pointed shape, of which I am not a fan.
HOW IT FEELS: Comfortable. Thicker foam than I prefer for summer, but will be nice for cold weather. The shape is mostly good, but the nipple speed is a little higher than ideal for my shape. I could do with slightly less projection, but the smaller cup size caused quadding. Better fit and feel than Victoria’s Secret because it has more room at the wire and is a little more front and center.
ABOUT ME: Tall roots, very close set (less than a pinkie width between breasts), slightly center full, even vertical fullness (possibly functionally FOT due to tall roots). Average for projection, root width, and tissue ...softness/firmness. I think my tissue is soft enough to where shallower bras can work ok for me if they're more open on top, or taller cups.

HOW IT FEELS: Relaxed fit, perfect for lounging. Zero side support, so allows the breasts to lay pretty naturally.
Fabric is soft. Doesn’t cut in across top of breast tissue despite wide evenly full/center full shape. Not a bra a reach for all the time, but worth having in my drawer.
