Love this bra! I have the lime colorway. Mesh is slightly scratchy, but it doesn't actually bother me when I'm wearing it, so no worries. The wires a really narrow, and I didn't really know I could wear wires that narrow. The straps are a perfect width and they fit just right under tank tops. The fit walks the line between being a FOB projected shape and a tall root shape. For whatever reason it fits my even soft breasts just right. It also walks the line between being a 30 and a 32 band. Haven't measured mine yet, but I think it stretches to about 31. ... It's a wide-set shape, what with the cups being triangular, and that doesn't usually work for me (looking at you, Natori), but the cups here are open enough that I don't really have any quad lines. The sheer fabric is VERY sheer btw, and it's alittle jarring to be able to see my nipple flatten out under my bra, and I can see skin creases sometimes, but it's also really helpful because it helps me to see when the bra is riding below my IMF and adjust accordingly before I get rib pain. I've wanted to try Claudette since they started putting out bras, because they've got some major selling points for me, namely all the mesh in all the colors. I've been put off by the fact that they don't have my size (30GG/H), and that their sizing has apparently been inconsistent across seasons, often with notoriously stretchy bands. Even so, I couldn't get the colorways out of my head.
I sister-sized myself into 34G, so the band is larger on me than anything I've put on in years. But the cup volume seems to be perfect, even when I pull the band together in the back to simulate the proper fit ...I'll be altering it into. The band tacks, both at 34 and at my planned 30-band alteration.
I can't gush enough about these wire widths. They're perfect for me, ending right where my breasts do, which never happens for me with British brands. They're also short enough that I'm not being stabbed in the armpit due to my height, so my narrow boobs are finally in the wire Goldilocks zone. I'm very put off by the fact that Claudette has been changing their cup structure and wire choices over the years. There are very few bras of properly narrow width for me on the British-US market, so even if/when Claudette eventually extends its size range, there's no guarantee that they'll be making a bra I love anymore.
The cups are tall, which doesn't bother me, because I expected it in this size range. This bra would not be wearable for me without fully adjustable straps. Its straps are stretchy as heck and have been tightened all the way to the bows at the cup tops in order to fit me.
The shape the bra gives is quite rounded and uplifted but also really minimized, kind of like a Cleo lite effect. This is also perfect, because I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that Cleo's wires simply do not get along with my narrow boobs. Read more 224 more words
I finally found a bra that really really fits https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> I'm not thrilled with the papaya/ khaki colorway but this bra is a huge improvement for me. The straps are more centered and fit my body well. The straps cut my armpits on my other bras,not this one.This is very comfortable. My only concern is how well the mesh will hold up. It feels pretty delicate. The straps are fully adjustable. The bottom 2 sections of the cups are double lined as well as the back panels. The straps have little loops that snag easily. I snagged it hand washing.
UPDATE: The mesh is not as delicate as it seems. My bra still looks new months later. I just ordered two more of these. Wonderful fit and comfort for daily wear. I love that this bra is so comfortable and my husband loves the sheerness. Some other reviews I have read said the and stretched out quickly. I haven't experienced this a all. Love this bra. It also has a very minimizing effect.
A very pretty bra, but i had to alter the straps because the green mesh was too itchy! The cups are sadly a bit too small for me. It's very beautiful but i wouldn't recommend this bra to anyone.
I love the Paramour. Period, end, full stop. While this is techinally not my size, I nabbed this one because the style is discontinued, and this sister-size works with an extender. If you'd like details, refer to my 10 other glowing reviews of the Paramour.
It's been a while since I've tried the Dessous (and I don't think I ever did try on the proper size the first few times). It's a really good, basic every day bra with just enough visual interest due to the unusual color choice and sexy sheerness. I got the magenta/lime color way, and wasn't sure if I would like it or not - I definitely do. It's unusual, but still pretty. Plus, damn do I love a sheer bra. Both visually and comfort-wise, beats molded cups any day.
I like most of the changes they've made over the past few seasons. The top sheer portion of the cup ...used to cup up much higher as it met the strap, and it seems they've decided to bring it in at a lower angle. I like the tweaks in fit and shape for the cups, except for one minor thing - what else? the strap separation is a bit wide. Not so much that it will chafe my armpits or fall off my shoulders, but not *perfect* either. Claudette seems to have been straying from their narrow-cup, narrow body template, which is... not ideal for me. Well have to see how this pans out in the next few seasons.
All told, I'm really happy to have this bra in rotation. It looks great, it fits fine, and I barely notice I'm wearing it. That's all I ask in a bra anyway. Read more 130 more words
This bra is okay... better in theory than practice, in my opinion (And it's no Paramour, sniff.)
Pros: Engaging design with the bright colors and contrast black edging, both in the elastic and in a velvet trim around the cup's edges. Fairly comfortable, a typically good Claudette fit for me.
Cons: Something about the velvet edging is a little stiff, it's a bit of a nitpick but I can feel it, particularly along the armpit edges. But more importantly, I don't find that this bra is as lifting or structured as I like - most likely because it is made of entirely material that has some give, a fine fishnet with underlaying mesh for stability - not technically stretch, but not truly stiff either. That, plus the limited seaming (one horizontal seam across the cup) don't make for very powerful architecture when we're talking lift or shaping. So basically, it's just my natural boob shape, encapsulated. Fine for some circumstances, but not my favorite look overall.
HerRoom didn't have my usual 32F, so I got a 32E for my lighter/smaller boobed days several months. But, um, it's been a long winter and I haven't worked out AT ALL. So this bra hasn't fit since the summer. That said, I should probably hang on to it juuuuust in case. After all, it's one of my favourite bras of all time. (This is number 4, and I've just ordered another AND the updated model "Paloma", which I can't wait to try! Hey, if the shoe fits)
Pros: Love the design, love the silky and supportive lower cup combined with the stretchy mesh upper. Love the shape, and the fit, when it fits. If Kelly Clarkson is allowed to fluctuate in her weight, then so am I.
Basically I'm going to snatch all the Claudette Paramours up since they're discontinued.
Ah, Claudette Dessous! I really wanted you to fit. This was the first bra that I got that I thought fit, but after getting more into this I've found out that no, that it doesn't really. This was back when I thought I could wear a 34 band (sister-sizing from 32), but I actually am a 30-32. The band is too large for me and I think too large and stretchy for a 34 anyway. The band being loose made it look like the cups were large enough for me, but if I tighten it and push the gore (which doesn't tack on its own), I quadboob in my ...bigger breast. I also get in-cup quadboob in both my breasts because this bra is too shallow, at the same time that the top gapes. Also, I wrinkle at the bottom-centre of the cups. My boobs don't like the shape of it and fight it. I think the Dessous runs small in the cup, but I also think this bra would be muuuch better for someone full on top/even and with less bottom projection than me. However, the style and colours are so beautiful that I really want to give it another go at some point with a 30ff (I'm normally a 30f/32e). I found it slightly itchy at the beginning but it was ok after a couple washes. I thought about altering it but it would be a shame. Think I'm gonna list this one. Read more 136 more words
Unfortunately this cute bra gives me quadboob. I knew from the start it would be too small, and yes - it cuts into my breast tissue. It's a shallow balcony, in my opinion, something similar to Ewa Bien Balor B230 (7600) or Ewa Bien Amelia Push Up Balconette (B230) , but much shallower.
Wonderful design and aesthetic, but not suited for projected/fot/even girls. The cup gapes and quads..it quads near the center (I have a lot of inner fullness) and gapes at the sides, where I lack fullness. This would be best for shallow girls, but man, I love how simple and clean this is!
I got this gently used at a bargain price from another Bratabase user. It's generally adviced to size up a cup, but I find this sister size to mine (UK 30G) fits great - a larger cup and I would have been swimming in fabric. The wire width is almost perfect, the centered straps is a welcome change from wide-set balconette straps, and while it doesn't feel like the highest quality bra, it is wonderfully comfortable. The band is rather stretchy so I wear it on the tightest set of hooks - a 30G would be perfect. It gives an uplifted, rounded teardrop shape - a little like the unpadded plunge balcony cut from Freya - but slightly more soft and spherical. The Papaya colourway with khaki details is simple and edgy but gorgeous. I have a feeling I'll be using this a lot in the warmer months when less (bra) is more.
It's like a pale sheer beige color with black trim and straps. Very pretty. I tried it on again and it fits except for the straps need to be moved in. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />
Somewhat tall and deep for me in this size so I can't give an optimal review of the comfort or how the shape fits me (I probably would need a 32F). However, even in this too-large size the cups do give a rounded, minimized and compact shape that I think many people would find very appealing.
Due to the oversized cups, this moves around on me more than I'd like, but it is still comfortable.
The design is simple but attractive and the sheer mesh and colorways are original touches in this size range. Fabrics seem to be on the cheaper side--mesh is not as fine or silky as what you will find on a higher-end bra.
Band is cut smallish for a 32, though it is also very stretchy, I find.
Finishes are a bit sloppy, but nothing that can be seen when the bra is worn.
Hmm. On the fence about this one. I *think* it fits, but then I realize it probably doesn't.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A bit later and I've worn it once more. Bigger boob quads and smaller boob is loose - both just a tiny bit. Band is fine. The wire seems to wide for me. I should try the 32FF so I'm getting one to compare.
WOW the band is tight! I can barely fasten this bra around my 25.5 inch underbust. The cups are very shallow and wide. The straps are extremely wide set and cut into my arms. I also got this bra in 30B and the fit is drastically different. The 28D is more shallow than the 30B, despite being a cup size larger, probably since the wires are so wide. Also, the wires are very stiff on both bras.
Straps were too long, boobs were sad and saggy. But worst of all? The sheerness! I didn't anticipate how weird and unflattering that would be. If you have small, pretty nipples you might not mind -- but I don't https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />.
My personal assessment makes this seem like a good bra... however, it gives me the ugliest, pointy boobs ever! I'm ashamed to wear this one under pajamas when no one is going to see me. Awful!
What did you think of the Paloma?
