This is the most bizarre bra I've ever tried on. I heard that the cups ran small, but holy cow! And I think the shape of the cups has gone well beyond shallow. I've truly never had so many fit issues with a bra before. The band was so tight that I could barely fasten it - in fact I was worried I would rip it in two just trying to put it on. The cups are very tall and shallow to the extreme, and I felt like I was quad-boobing up to my clavicles. The underwire was very wide (and I ...think it was pulled out of shape even wider as the band was so short), though I did like the height of the wings. The vast majority of my bras have underwires/wings that are far too short on me, but these tall wings/cups actually contained all the tissue I have up there. Oh gosh, and then the straps - I think both the front and back of the straps were essentially under my arms (hugely too far apart!). Such a strange bra! The aqua and navy is one of my favorite color combinations, so I was excited to see it in this bra. But with a fit this bad I'll be happy to send it back. Read more 123 more words
Oh Oh Oh ! I need very tall and shallow cups ! This bra may be "bizarre" enought for me... I should try it. Thanks for this review.
Haha, I hope it works out for you! I did love the tall cups on this one though, and I've thought about retrying it in different sizes to see if I can make it work better for me!
This band is perfect, but a bit stretchy. This works for me because I'm gaining weight. The the cup fits more like an F than an E. I can fill it during my fullest days of the month, but most days, I clearly need to size down in the cup. This bra isn't the best shape for my tall roots, but the cutting in is minimal. It works better than I thought it would. My favorite thing about this bra is the lower projection. My boobs sing whenever I put it on. I going to keep stalking Zulily for another Claudette sale, and I'm going to keep eating cheesy fries for breakfast, because I love this bra (and cheesy fries)!
Amazingly gorgeous, but ridiculously tiny for the 30E it's supposed to be https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" /> more like a 28D I think, hence will list it for sale. Bought from Brand Alley in a flurry of excitement cos it's the colour I've been after, but compared to the later seasons Parma Violet/Concrete and Peacock/Concrete that I have and fit me beautifully, this was a complete non starter. Fuller review to come...(and I'm also going to write to Claudette asking how they can make such ridiculously HUGE changes in sizing from season to season whilst calling it the same bra model - incredibly misleading for people purchasing their goods :-/).
It's... not horrible. Which is good enough for me! I love the colors - hot pink and beige - and I've been lusting after a Dessous like this for awhile. I know it's not a perfect fit, but i like it. I also love that they made this in 3 colors that could be a "nude."
I tried this in 28F first, but found the band ran tighter than in some other colors! 30E fits much better - the band slightly smaller than true to size. It's great on my 29-30" underbust!
I don't think this color is horribly shallow, and the wires don't measure that wide ... however, the ...wires are flexible and stretch with the band, leading to a bra that is too shallow and wide on some. I can wear an extender with this to get slightly narrower wires, but as it is the slight wideness doesn't bother me and the wire stays in my IMF.
There is a bit more wrinkling than on me than I would deal with in most bras, but I'm just too in love with the colors. I wore it today under a thicker band T and it worked great. I wore it under a white tank top and flaunted the pink straps and seams, and it was cute. Read more 106 more words
The cups on this bra are unfortunately too short and closed on top for me. I wouldn't recommend it for FoT shapes, and even shapes may want to size up. The cup depth is under 8 inches, where most of my unlined bras in this size are 8.5-9". I think sizing up might help these issues for me.
I thought, despite the small cup depth, the fabric would be stretchy and forgiving. It really isn't! It's not nearly as soft as I thought it might be, but it might get better with wear.
Closed and short--a bra for me ;-) ;-) I had hoped this was soft. Thanks for your review!
It's still $14.99 in the Encore sale if they have your size!
I have one too. I thought it was soft enough but short and closed off. Gave me bubbling in the right size
Oh and the right size for me was a cup size up :) - but it had the bubbling. I've just made this confusing. I just meant to say the cup runs about 1 cup small and also it's short and closed on top. And even if you size up its not for people full on top or with tall roots
I think I've found my perfect fit! This bra arrived in the mail today courtesy of annabellynn–thank you!–and is exactly what I was looking for, particularly after trying on a couple 32's and getting discouraged.
This bra is lavender mesh/lace with black straps, edging, and bow. It's quite sheer and does show my nipples, but not to the point where they stick out through clothing. The band is firm, the straps aren't too wide-set, and the bra itself is just very pretty.
The reason why I'm ranking this bra as only "okay" in comfort is because the black lace that borders the bra is a little scratchy. Because of that fact and the fact that the top seam shows through at least some clothing, I don't think this will be an everyday sort of bra for me. However, it's certainly something I'd wear out for an evening, and I'm just thrilled to find something that seems to be the right fit! I'll definitely be checking out other bras by Claudette and/or Bratabase's recommendations for similar bras.
Yay :) everyone says this a hard bra to fit - if you buy it in other colors you may find that it fits more shallow or the band is looser.
Thanks for the info, annabellynn! I don't know if I'm going to buy this bra in other colors given the slight scratchiness of the lace, but I'll keep what you said in mind if I check out other Claudette models.
Whoops, sorry annabellynn! Tagged the wrong person. Meant Love4Pollinators! Don't know where my brain is today.
The best fit I've had from one of these yet - could do with a 28 band, but the band isn't as big as others I've tried. Probably fits 30-31" NWT. It seems more supportive and somehow better fitting than the navy/lime green one I tried, not sure exactly what is different though.
The bow is oversized and it's adorable. The cups are tall but fit better than most full coverage bras I've tried. The plunge is low. The mauve is pretty. I think I want to hold out for the colorway I've been lusting after most though - beige with hot pink trim.
Iam so glad it fits you! :) have you tried American Tan? it fits very similar!
I'll keep that in mind! Didn't you have another that was brown with pink trim? I think it was called Chinchilla? Does that one fit differently? So hard to tell with these bras :)
I used to have it, but it was wide and put my boobs on the side - one of the worst claudetted that i ever owned :( same with navy and pink
I bought this in hope that I will finally have my dessous! unfortunately this 30E its at least one size too small. However, it is very comfy! But thats all good things about this bra. Im not fan of the print - but because I was buying 2 Claudettes from one seller - i didnt mind that much. The wires are so narrow and short that are digging into my breasts. Cups are very closed on top, but probably just because the bra is too small - I still need to try 30F/FF. Straps are fully adjustable which is an advantage.
This is my first bra in the size that ABTF gave me (30DD/30E) and I do think that it's the right size but leans more toward a 30DD. It's fairly comfortable but I'm not a fan of some aesthetic parts once on and I think it's the wrong shape for me. I'm mostly FOB and center-full, fairly close-set with indenting/deflation near tail of spence, and pretty narrow-rooted with some height and some projection. I might keep it but only if I can make some alterations.
[Disclaimer - I have only tried this on and wore it around my room for a couple hours]
PROS: - Fits pretty well in the cup ...and band - Gore tacks - Felt supportive enough - Material is very soft - More natural/rounded shape than conical
CONS: - Quad-boobing when breathing out and a little while resting - Wires dig into ribs somewhat - Seems to create more separation than I would like - Inner pocket lining is visible in an odd way - Nipples are very visible especially because of the seam
NOTES: - Band is very snug but seems like it'll loosen with wear - Gore leaves red marks but isn't uncomfortable - Took some adjusting after scoop & swoop and movement - Wires are pretty narrow which was good for me - Straps are far apart (36 cm from outer edges at shoulders)
I think it could be good for people who are FOB, short & narrow-rooted, more shallow, and outer-full. Read more 122 more words
28F (my usual size) wasn't available in this color way on the website I was shopping from so I got a 30E instead. The band was too big for my 27-inch ribcage. It is also too closed on top for my tall roots and full-on-top breasts. It accommodates centre fullness though, and I like how its sheerness makes me feel sexy!
This bra is interesting. It's wide and shallow, which I feel is unusual in D+ cup sizes. The cups are tall, too. I'm narrow, projected, and short-rooted, so it was a big shape mismatch for me. I couldn't handle wearing it because I have too much immediate projection for it, so my boobs pushed the underwires away from my chest at the bottom and made the gore stab me. I think this bra would best fit a shallow, tall-rooted 28E/F.
The American Tan feels smalles out of my all new Dessous. In the cups - same as in 30F, theres wrinkling at the top, while at the same time it cuts in my boobs - on both sides actually. The band also feels tight comparing to Mauve. I was planning to keep it, and get rid of Yellow one but I guess it will be opposite. Too much quadboobing to keep it. but overall nice brown bra that would looks good on each skin tone.
well, this is my favourite colour of Dessous so far - it like purple and grey mixes - looks very nice on my pale skin. The bra feels as good as my 32DD - Claudette » Paramour Underwire Bra (101015008) , but im getting tiny quadboob - its not really noticeable under t-shirts so definietly im going to keep this bra. I wouldnt mind if the wires would have just 12.2-12.3cm as they would fit better, but is not bad.
It would be so amazing if not the wide set of straps.. the cups are more than perfect (beside this 0.5cm too wide wires), but it makes such lovely shape. Also bra feels very comfy thanks to its wider and softer straps comparing to other dessous. Also, the band is tighter than other 30Es but thans not an issue with the extender. Overal is such shame i cant keep it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
The bra is so pretty! I love the mint and navy combination. Although the band is so tiny!! I need like 1 full and 2 hooks from another extender coz the band is way too tight! is more for someone who wears 28 maybe even 26. The cups also are quite small. Bra looks like 28E. Beside that is very soft and makes nice shape like as a halcup.
I think this bra technically fits, but I feel so meh over it.
I feel a bit flattened by it. It's not very supportive and my boobs just feel sad and minimized (when I wear my Cleo Lily or Marcie my boobs feel so perky!) The top of the cups seems to hit my boobs at a bad place - a bit high-creating a flattening effect.
I might deal with it if I had it one of the color schemes I'm lusting after, but I think a 28F or 28E might suit me better.
I love this bra. I've been wanting one for so long. I wonder, maybe measurements can be added for top, center, and bottom of cups sometime in the future? I think it would make measurements a lot more consistent. For this, I've been wanting a Dessous ever since I joined Bratabase. Maybe just a little before. I had always read how they run about a cup small, and while I can personally somewhat agree, I mostly disagree.
At least as far as mine went, it had 9" depth in the top of the cups. Generally, I've noticed that wire length matches the deepest area of the cups on many bras. As the ...cups go downward, there is -1" per..I don't know, I forgot to measure that. But basically the center of the cup was about 8", give or take, and bottom was 7", give or take. This is exactly the type of thing I wanted to illustrate with my blog, but I just haven't been able to find the time to take measurement pictutes and write out such lengthy reviews, so hopefully this will suffice.
I really, really wanted to keep this regardless of the little bit of upper wrinkling. I've lost A LOT of upper tissue, so the 30E just didn't work for me. I have a feeling that a 30DD would have enough upper space, but be somewhat too shallow on bottom, so there's that problem, but I'd still love to try one in that size.. and you know, I'd probably still keep it too because I love this model lol. I couldn't keep the 30E because I'm losing weight and I might as well not put more wear into something that I'm going to need to sell after I lose about 5-10 more pounds.https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I do think, if you have more malleable tissue, and are more round as opposed to conical or tuberous, you may want to consider sizing up..just because of the small amount of space on bottom. I feel like for someone rounder, the tops may cut in with your tissue being pushed upwards. However for me, my tissue is malleable but tuberous and I just can't fill the tops.
As far as the rest of the bra goes, the straps are fully adjustable, the gore is good for closer set tissue, wires were narrow, and overall it's just such a lovely bra. I'd recommend the Dessous to someone just mildly fuller on top. If you're more even, tubey or conical, consider going with your usual size. Someone FoT or rounder, possibly consider sizing up.
I bought this bra this summer, but soon my boobs grew and now there is not enough space for them near the gore. The gore still tacks, but the top of the cup cuts in.
Oh Oh Oh !
I need very tall and shallow cups ! This bra may be "bizarre" enought for me... I should try it.
Thanks for this review.
