    Didn't fit

The Rihanna bra is based on the shape and style of the Juna bra by Cleo. The Juna comes in Ivory, Nude and Black and the Rihanna is a Teal/Pink/Grey print that reminds me of a pixelated 80s video game... or a 80s watercolour. I can't place it but I like it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I tried on the Juna and Rihanna in a million sizes and couldn't get the shape to work on me - puzzled the hell out of two fitters - and by luck tried on a 28H.

I usually wear a 28 or 30 band in Cleo and in this style ... I most definitely needed the 28 band - the fabric is soft and stretchy and if you're between sizes definitely go the smaller size. The Juna model feels loose on me in a 28 band, but the Rihanna feels good in the 28. The fitter said that the Juna runs a bit large in the band due to slightly stretchy fabric.

This shape - padded balconettes that smash your boobs to your chest and just end without a 3rd, horizontal top section - work terribly on my shape. The Juna and Rihanna was no exception.

Both the 28GG and the 30G (my "normal" sizes) give me OK coverage but the moulded top of the cup kind of cuts in a bit leaving a lot of fleshy stuff pushed up against the lace edge in the middle but the lace kind of poofs out towards the center gore. It's a mess. And if I bent over I'd start to fall out.

The lace edge on the Rihanna is tighter than the lace edge on the Juna. Going up a cup size gave me more coverage with the cup ending a bit higher up the breast allowing the tighter lace edge to hold me in place a bit. The Juna lace just kind of stuck upwards and didn't follow the contours of my chest at all.

The fitter (the Juna was her favourite bra) assured me that end of the moulded cup and the lace edge soften up and sit better after a few washes. Will have to see how that goes.

I found that in my normal size - the 28GG - the top edge of the bra just finished at a bad place on my shape.

This is my first and only 28H in my wardrobe.

I also find that the straps on the Juna/Rihanna very wide on my narrow shoulders. That said, this is nicely padded around the underwires so it should be comfortable to wear.

    *Update*
I wore this for a day of shopping with my niece (a toddler) and my sister and I found I kept falling out of the top of this bra. It shows under white/pale tops. Good for a day at the office wearing black perhaps? Or on the weekend? Not a great everyday bra for me!

    • Thanks a lot for sharing your full review and comparison with other Cleo bras! I am looking forward to trying this bra but puzzled about the fit of current Cleo styles as many ladies say they all run a little different from each other.. even "style sisters" in different names/patterns. :)

    • That's true - but I think Freya, Panache, Fantastie all differ just as much. They keep the same styles but sometimes just changing the fabric can alter the fit - this fit between the Juna and the Rihanna which look and feel identical save for the pattern fabric used was a perfect example of this!

    Didn't fit

Wow I haven't reviewed anything in awhile! I'm going to try to get caught up by the end of the year.

My stats: 26H/HH according to the ABTF calculator, firm tissue, slightly FOT, tall and narrow roots, center full, close set and functionally high set.

    The look:
I adore longlines, especially true longlines, not 4 hook monstrosities. This bra has 6 hooks and hits right at my waist which is extremely flattering on my body shape. The pattern is so fun and bright! All hardware is white.

    The fit:
This bra fit (quadded) when I was a 28H but it's a little bit big in the overall volume, ... the depth is fine and it's a tolerable fit because the cups are so wide and the cups are a bit closed on top. The band is way too big in the rib area and waist area, this wasn't designed for a big difference between waist and UB (which I don't even bave a big difference, my loose underbust is 27" and my waist is 25"). The gore is also wide and tall and gets uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. However the weight of my boobs is supported by my hips and waist rather than my back and shoulders so that's a nice change of pace.

    Overall impression and rating:
3.5/5 stars, The quality is pretty good, it's a true longline with 6 hooks and the print is gorgeous but it's not meant for my shape or size and can get uncomfortable because of the gore. I've detached the straps and it works pretty well as a strapless bra though.

***Please note: For all intent and purpose this 28h bra fits but I will keep the accurate "band is too tight" until it stretches out.

This is a comparison review between 28GG (http://bra.pe/ReB/) and 28H.

    Band length: 59.7cm
    Cup width: 14.7cm
    Cup depth: 29.5cm
    Wire length: 31.1cm
    Cup separation: 1.7cm
    Strap width: 1.9cm

    Quality: 5/5
    Comfort: 5/5
    Appearance: 5/5

This is the only print to come along since the plaids that has really caught my attention. I had to try it on! Purchased 28GG/28H for comparison. Once upon a time I almost bought AW10's Sadie 30G in Purple Plaid (see review here: http://bra.pe/RGu/). Those cups were just a bit too small and now that I ... think of it they were quite similar to Freya's Padded Half Cups. Except there is this bit of loose lace trim on these Juna-style Cleo bras. Well, the 30G Sadie felt just a bit too small in the cup and here the 28GG Rihanna feels just like that but firmer in the band. The 28H (tighter band equivalent of a 30GG and one-cup bigger than the original Purple Plaid Sadie was made, she stopped at a G-cup!) This is my ideal fit: firm in the back, nice little lift and all-rounded shape. The lace does stick up a bit on my smaller breast but flattens underneath a t-shirt. And in a gorgeous 80's video-game type print to boot! Reds, blues, greys and white glory. I will keep an eye out for more wonderful patterns in the future now that I know my Juna-size. Next, I'm ready to try an actual Juna from the core line! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Measured immediately before wearing.
    Purchased late-June 2012.

A nice supportive fabric, no stretch whatsoever. So a bit stiff, but still comfy. Very closed on top, but i don’t quite fill out the top of the cup in this size (I’m FOB) and the 28gg gave me an upside down 7 shape.

Very short cups, band is looser at the bottom than at the top (I measured just at the bottom of the cups for the table), quite a lot of overall projection, closed on top and there is not much space by the gore. Fits like a large G or small GG. See blog post for a more in-depth analysis.

    28H

    Didn't fit

After reading the reviews here, I opted to go for a bra that would be one cupsize smaller than my usual size - 28H. And it really fits! I get a teeny weeny bit of quadraboob when I breathe in deeply, but otherwise the top of the bra sits flat against the top of my boob and sometimes it even feels a bit empty.

The front-on shape I get from it is splendid - the bra really puts your boobs out there and all of a sudden, I looked much narrower in the chest area than I usually do, which was a definite plus. The side-view is, however, not ... really that awesome. The shape is a but odd, even though I decided I kind of liked it after a while. But I have to choose my shirts carefully, which isn't the case with my favourite bras.

This is also the first-ever bra in which I've experienced a puckering - I just don't fill in the top front part of the bra properly, even though the top ribbon, only a few centimetres further back, sits firmly on my boob-tissue and cuts in when I breathe in deeply.

All in all, the Meg is truly a beautiful, firm and well-made bra, but its shape is (at least for me) so odd that I can't squeeze myself into the cups. I am keeping this one, but will probably not be buying bras of this cut in the future.

    --- EDIT ---

I've had the Meg for a year and I have grown to like it a lot! It makes my boobs look perky and pushes them forward - also, for some odd reason, they actually look smaller.

The puckering hasn't gone away, but I hardly notice it anymore. Also, it must be something about Meg specifically, not the other bras in this shape, because I've recently tried on a Zia, which, in my opinion, is of a similar cut, and there was no puckering at all.

Appearance-wise, this bra is pretty cute. I like the pop of pink along the top of the cups and on the straps. The print is unique too, though I would kill for a Lily with the print of Meg!

The band is nice, firm and doesn't ride up. I think there might just a little less immediate projection in the cups than I need as I get slight wrinkles at the bottom of the cup from time to time. Occasionally I'll notice the cups have been pushed down slightly by my breasts, as well. It's not too bad though.
The wires are a bit too wide, but not uncomfortably ... so. Though, they're either a little too high, or a combination of wide and high, to the point that it gets a little pokey. My tail of spence can get a redish, tender marking where it rubs a bit when I wear it longer than a few hours. Luckily, I don't typically leave the house longer than a few hours for it to be much of a problem, but it's still unfortunate.
The gore tacks, though not very firmly. The cups seem to be mostly good, though my larger breast can get some puckering/quadding going on at the middle seam when I move in a number of positions or breathe too deeply. 99% of what I wear is loose fitting, so it's never visible though.

I have no real issue with having it in my collection and wearing it whenever the mood strikes. I even see myself getting it in the new colorways, sometime this year. So overall, I'd say it's a pretty good fit for me.

I got this bra knowing that is the same cut as the Cleo Melissa, which fits me like a dream. The top edge of the Bella is a little bit more closed off, so it is more prone to slight wrinkling/cutting in when I breathe deeply or move around, but it is a perfect fit when I am standing straight, and the wrinkling/tightness is not noticeable through clothing.

Like all Cleo bras I have tried, this one is beautifully made and detailed - reinforced seaming, padded straps, unique trims. Panache does not skimp on quality, even for their juniors line. The band is nice and firm and seems like it will keep it's shape. The cups give a great rounded and projected shape.

The wire channels are a little too long for the wires, and sometimes I can feel the wire through the channel, so I might sew them in place and add some moleskin pads.

  11. Melissa (6991)

This is my second review of a Cleo Melissa. I also own a Cleo Melissa in 28GG, which fit well when I purchased it, but I outgrew quickly. While Cleo is Panache's junior/cheap line, the construction and design of the Cleo Melissa are top-notch - great shape, fantastic reinforced seaming, sturdy materials, true-to-size and an absolutely adorable pattern.

With many other bras, the jump from 28GG to 28H is often the tipping point into shitty pattern grading (wires mysteriously become an inch wider, cups run up way too high and shapes become all wonky). I clung onto my too-small Melissa for a couple months fearing that ... the 28H would be an awful fit.

I needn't have worried - if anything, the pattern grading is BETTER in the 28H. The wires and cups run up just high enough to contain all of my breast tissue without engulfing my torso or poking anywhere, the wires are a great width (narrower than Freya in this size), the gore is nice and narrow and tacks without digging in. It manages to be cute and delicate while providing great support to a bigger bust.

My only complaint is that, like ALL the Cleo bras, this only has two columns of hooks in the back, even in bigger sizes. The Melissa has a thick underband in front, I don't understand why that isn't extended to the back (especially in bigger sizes).

Band is a bit too tight, if I were to wear it I would definitely use an extender to extend by on or two hooks. Volume wise, the cups are close, but are just a tiny bit too small, although the quad is slight enough that it just barely shows under a shirt.

The wires are too wide on the side, and the cups are too wide and tall on the sides for me. The cups are so tall on the sides that they are close to sitting in my armpits, and in fact the cup does go into my armpit (and cuts in) when I reach my ... arm forward. (Incidentally, this 28H and the 30GG have a very very similar fit aside from the band size differences, but I think the 30GG doesn't cut into my armpits quite as much as this 28H does.) The cups are overall too wide and shallow for my shape, splaying my boobs out to the side in an awkward fashion. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

Ultimately I think the 30GG offers me a bit fit than this 28H, but even that isn't all that great. It's really unfortunate, as the Maddie is a very cute bra, and if it was compatible with my shape it would be great for under t-shirts.

I vary between 30 and 28 Cleo bras because they often have very stretchy bands. I found a 28H Lizzie and thought "Hey, I'll order it because it could be like a tighter 30GG and I am often in between 30G and GG, maybe it will work out well." So this 28H has a bit bigger cup than I would normally take ... and there is pretty obvious wrinkling in the top cup portion. One thing to note is the top portion is not translucent like in stock photos online. Instead it is lined the same as the rest of the bra. I really like this consistency although some women really want the sexy sheer they see advertised. Also, the 28 band was much tighter than expected and it is near impossible to use the first hook without an extender!! Good thing I have a hot pink one to match the flowers! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> However, elsewhere overall it fits pretty well especially since it gives me a very nice rounded shape like my other Cleo soft cups.

I was pleased to order since I heard from other Bratabase users Lizzie is based on the same shape as my beloved Sasha & Alexa (http://bra.pe/R2w/) bras from the current season.

Since I just received it and the wrinkling doesn't show under a t-shirt I am highly considering keeping it.

    Measured unstretched immediately before wearing.

I have this bra in a size 28GG (also in yellow, and neon green), but sometimes I get a little double-bubble, quad-boob when I’m feeling a little on the heavier side due to period weight. This size, 28H, has a wire that is too wide for me, and the sides of the cup come up on the front of my armpits a bit. However I do find the projection is good and the cup fully encases my breast with the exception of the space on the side between where my breast actually ends and where the wire sits. The band on this bra also rides up on the tightest hooks, a problem I also have with the 28GG, but just not as bad. I’m still on the fence if I’m going to keep it or not.

    Quality: 5/5
Comfort: 5/5 (a firm material, snug and needs some "breaking-in")
    Appearance: 5/5

Having fallen in love with Sasha and Alexa I knew I had to have Olivia the second I spotted her on Bravissimo. My only question was a matter of "in what size?" I knew the current SS12 Alexa ran a bit bigger in the cup than her predecessor AW11's Sasha. When I contacted Bravissimo the response was ... she fit exactly the same as Alexa. However after trying on the 28GG several times I found the same hesitance I remembered with Sasha last Autumn. It was a dilemma between cup sizes. I finally received a 28H and although the 28GG and 28H both fit I am much more comfortable in the H-cup because I'm more confident I'm safely covered from any potential spillage which may lead to readjusting throughout a day's wear.

I wish I'd originally took Alexa in a 28GG because her band is not as tight but at the time I would never have thought I could be a 28-band so I never considered ordering.

30G fit well while 28GG is much more snug. These fit me exactly the same in the cup the only difference is in the band. 30G also fits nice although I would anticipate it to stretch out like my original 30G Alexa which has pretty quickly and only snaps back from washing (after one or two wears in a row). The 28H is the best for me as it fits just like my original 30GG Sasha and now a 28H as well.

Also, I'd be happy to have a drawer full of non-pink bras. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />

So pleased to say that the fit is the same between AW11's Sadie and SS12's Rihanna even though I bought the newer one first. See Rihanna 28h review here: (http://bra.pe/ReC/).

As usual with padded or even lightly-lined bras I am a size larger in the cups. Whereas my typical size measures a ... 30g I'm then about a 30gg. I find most Cleo's a bit stretchier in the band so I find the equivalent in a 28h, the smaller "sister size". It's quite surprisingly to be once again at the end of a size range. It's difficult to hold my tongue and instead refrain from insisting a friend with a larger bust try it when I realize that it is basically would size her out. Instead, I like to focus on the fact that sharing the information with loads of other women about how the sizing runs may save some from the trouble of many exchange orders had they not known otherwise.

Just as with the Rihanna we have another great rounded shape, good lift, and firm back size. I will be wearing with an extender for a while so it's more comfy until the band stretches just a bit.

I actually liked that this bra was beige and understated. Despite it not fitting, it somehow was still pretty comfortable. The fabric was soft and felt very nice against the skin. Unfortunately, the bra was simply to wide in the wires for me, and the gore was sitting on too much breast tissue and I was spilling out for it to be a viable option. It's certainly well-made and I'm sure it would be great to wear if it fit. Also, the band wasn't snug enough for me as it stretched to 30"

Much more comfortable than the Cleo Hettie to me. I think the band is stretchier on the Kayla compared to the Hettie, also the gore does not dig into my sternum as much as it does on the Hettie. I do get more gaping at the top lace on the Kayla than the Hettie on my smaller side. Both bras are sufficiently deep at the wire (immediately projected) hurrah! I think Kayla might have a slight edge in immediate projection. I will say this bra doesn’t feel super duper supportive, the lift and weight redistribution is pretty minor compared to my heavy duty lifter bras. It makes me wonder if there might be an inverse correlation between projectedness and support. Possibly the bra needs to squish the boobs close and out to the sides of the chest wall in order to redistribute the weight off your shoulders.
